I highly recommend A Top to Bottom Tree Service. Kevin and Cindy are the kindest people you will meet. With them you are getting honest work and fair pricing. He was quick to meet me and give me a quote and was able to schedule the following week. I had two trees and stumps removed, him and his crew were on time and by the time i was home from work the job was complete, they cleaned everything up as well. If i needed tree service again i would only use A Top to Bottom, its nice to know people actually care about the job they do these days.

I don’t ever leave reviews, but we were very impressed by Kevin and his crew. They took down a couple of trees at our house, and trimmed a couple of pines for us as well. Allen was prompt, arriving ahead of schedule when we requested an estimate. He addressed exactly what we asked him to address, made additional recommendations based on his evaluation of our property, and clearly explained why we should consider those additional recommendations without making us feel “pressured” into a decision. The day the work was completed, the crew arrived ahead of schedule and finished the job before we returned home from work. Everything was done exactly according to plan. Kevin even swung by the house after his work day ended to walk the property and ensure my wife and I were satisfied with the work that had been done. We prefer to do business locally, and they are right up the road from us, so that’s an added bonus. We would absolutely utilize their services again in the future, and will recommend them in a heartbeat to friends, family, and neighbors.

Incredible team of arborists and professional tree servicemen. Friendly, knowledgeable and thorough. Assumed I would need a crane, but these guys climbed higher than any I’ve used previously. This will be my first call for tree service anytime in the future!

My neighbor had a large tree removed and 3 others tall trees trimmed. They abutted my yard/drive and "A Top to Bottom" needed to use my drive to access them as they were next to the fence that separates our yards. The "A Top to Bottom" team were terrific in safely and carefully doing their work and did an Outstanding Job cleaning up around my drive and yard. I really couldn't have asked for a better job. I will definitely use them in the future for any tree removal or trimming. Thanks ATtB.

Not one that normally leaves reviews but this company was by far the best tree service I’ve ever hired. On time, fully staffed, geared up with all the PPE and ready to get the job done safely and efficiently. They removed a 60’ pecan tree in the back yard of my property, ground the stump and were finished in under 3 hours. I couldn’t have been happier. Their price was very competitive with other estimates that we were given. All around professional and highly recommended. Thanks again!

Highly recommend using A Top To Bottom for your tree removal. We had the crew out today to remove a very large oak tree from our backyard and they did great. On time, friendly crew, they got straight to work and took less time than i thought they would to take down this massive tree. 10/10 recommend.

Kevin has been our go to tree man for over a decade! We have three and a half acres of land on the Elizabeth river. He has been helpful and knowledgeable about not only the tree cutting but also has worked with us on what needs to be permitted to take down because of the locations rules on the water! Best tree story to date is I called Kevin two days before Christmas because a 70 foot poplar tree blew over in a wind storm on to our house. He had people out within an hour to assess and a crew to remove later that day! Great guy, great team, nothing but compliments!

I had big branches from my neighbor's tree hanging over my house and yard. David and his team came out and took care of everything cleanly and politely, checking all the time if I was satisfied. I was indeed very satisfied and I would recommend this company to anyone. They were honest, fair, and hard-working, and with great results

Carelessness caused damage. A Top to Bottom Tree Service was contracted to remove a tree from our neighbors property which partially overhangs our driveway. Without consulting us about our car that was in the driveway (we were not at home at the time, no other attempt was made to contact us through our neighbor who could have texted) they commenced the tree removal without putting a mat out to protect it and broke our car's windshield. We are 100% certain that the windshield was not damaged at all before, and the day after the job was finished my wife noticed a large crack on the windshield and promptly contacted Kevin, the owner. He denied responsibility claiming that they couldn't be sure when the windshield was broken, however, it is fairly obvious that it was caused by debris falling from the tree.

Kevin preferred to deflect blame instead insisting that it was more likely damage from a BB gun than branches falling. The simple fact is had his team put down a mat to cover the car this would not have happened and would have taken very little effort on their part. On this same job his team broke one of our neighbors windows as well. I would not recommend this company, they failed to take the time before starting work to ensure they would not damage anything around the tree and the owner was condescending and dismissive to both me and my wife.

I recently hired A Top to Bottom Tree and Lawn Service to trim a large Water Oak and remove a couple of additional trees in the back yard. The crew did an excellent (5-star) job with the tree trimming. The crew worked hard, and the results of the trimming and removals were impressive. I appreciated their efficiency and the way they safely handled the big tasks

That said, there are a couple of areas where the experience could be improved and those few issues impacted my overall satisfaction. The heavy machinery used to access the back yard left noticeable tire marks and large divots throughout the lawn. Additionally, the stump grinding was not thorough or wasn’t fully completed, leaving some large roots sticking up where the trees had been removed. Our solution to fix the damage will be an additional expense which will include buying truck load of topsoil and getting an excavator to pull up the roots and level the ground.

While I appreciate their professionalism, timeliness, and quality of trimming work, I would have expected more care taken to protect the yard and more thorough stump grinding. Overall, sharing my mixed experience with both strong points and areas for improvement. I definitely recommend this company but just know there are factors to consider that I was unaware of and hope this review helps future customers. With a bit more attention to yard care and finishing details, this company could easily move from 3.5 star to a 5 star.

I’’m so pleased with the job that the men from Great Scott Tree Service just completed at my house — even as a dangerous thunderstorm was looming!! They did a fantastic job and cleaned up every last bit of what they trimmed!! I will definitely recommend!!

My wife and I had Great Scott Tree Service out to my house on 31 October 2016. Scott was able to accommodate the short notice my Wife and I gave. Once the crew was on scene, they worked expeditiously, professionally, and did an amazing job! Ben came out the day after my email to give an estimate and then today they had an opening and the group was here this morning. This is the best tree service ever! Everyone was very friendly, hardworking, and efficient! They felled two 80ft+ trees in a day with minimal damage to the lawn! We are extremely impressed and will recommending them to everyone !

I had a great experience with the company from start to finish. Timely assessment with a very fair price. The crew showed up on time, working efficiently to complete the job. Everyone was very courteous and took care to treat my property respectfully. I’m very happy with the work done and would both highly recommend and use this company in the future. Also a note, I believe the company is in transition. I dealt with the to be new owner who was also excellent.

And cleaned up so completely, you would never know they were here, except the huge oak tree is gone, stump ground and other trees were puned back away from my home. Excellent job! Hightly recommend.

I am so glad I hired Great Scott Tree Service to do some major pruning on some large oak trees that were overhanging my roof and deck and to remove a couple of large dangling broken branches. I met the new owners and they are awesome! I found their prices to be reasonable and their large team of workers are very professional. They use an amazing lift that left no ruts or damage to the yard and that is a huge plus. They were prompt, efficient, safety conscious, and their clean up was great. The work done was exactly what I envisioned and more! I would hire this company again if I ever need tree work done!

This is the second time my wife and I used Great Scott Tree service. The weather played a small part in when they arrived. They did a superb job. They did the tree trimming/ pruning rather quickly. There was 1 large and 3 medium trees that needed addressed. Once the job was finished and they left, there was no trace they were there except a little saw dust. In 4-5 years, when the trees grow back in and need attention, Great Scott Tree Service will DEFINITELY be getting my business.
