House Cleaning reviews in Norfolk, Virginia

I was a client for over a year and had minor complaints.  Owner was very slow or gave no response to messages, the teams were consistently late to cleaning (I had the first one of the day so not sure why) and the owner was aware but just joked about it as if it was no big deal, lights were often left on, floor mats were not replaced, etc.  I stayed with them as the price was reasonable and the job was done well enough. However, I realized a couple weeks ago all of my leftover hydrocodone pills from prior surgeries had gone missing within a short timeframe.  During that time frame, no friend, family member, or contractor entered our home other than Mermaids.  Someone had dug through two separate drawers behind a cabinet in my master bedroom, took out the small, easily concealed pills, and left the bottles to make it unlikely to be noticed leaving the house.  When I informed the owner of what happened, she interviewed her staff.  As would be expected nobody admitted to stealing anything.  I asked her if the cleaners could all work on the same floor from now on to keep an eye on each other, but she said they would chit chat too much and would not make that change.  Since it was not confirmed who did it, I told her I could not have the same crew back in my home, but would be open to a totally different crew to come.  She told me she would look into it and get back to me.  I asked her again several more times over the course of two weeks, and she kept saying she would get back to me.  Of course she never did, and chose to ghost me with no response instead.  Probably the least professional thing she could do, as a simple "sorry that's not possible" would have been appreciated. Honestly she was barely apologetic about any of it and gave me attitude when I called her out on her poor communication with me.  When I realized she had no interest in providing basic customer service, it only took 3 calls to find a new reputable service to come out for the same price.  I cannot in good conscience recommend Mermaids to anyone.

As a short-term rental manager with several properties, I have at numerous times needed last-minute turnovers and cleans, all of which Jana, Erin, and their team have been able to quickly adjust for and get done. Their responsiveness makes them stand out, and their punctuality makes them the best. Without a doubt the best cleaning company I have used thus far (and I've been through plenty!) and would certainly recommend to any other rental manager or home owner.

I started using MarMaids when the owner "Victor" first started the company which included property management for Airbnb and also cleaning service. I'm more than satisfied with his services he has provided me for the past 6 years. From my first Airbnb booking and up to now still running. It has been a phenomenal experience dealing with a professional that actually cares about his company. My ratings are at a 4.97 all throughout my 9 properties. Much appreciate his dedication to the clear communication. I have recommended "MarMaids" to few partners who also have rental properties! Look no further if you need a reliable cleaning company for your Airbnb.

Jana and her team are amazing! They do such an amazing job and take care of all of the little things as well. It's such a wonderful feeling to come home knowing they have been by our house. Jana is also really flexible for when we need an extra clean before or after guests or if our travel plans change our scheduled visits, which is so incredibly helpful! I can't thank them enough and would recommend them to anyone looking for cleaning services!

Absolutely amazing. Ive used them many, many times, at least 20 or so in the past few years. Im a real estate professional and only want the best for my clients that are moving in, or selling. Highly recommend!! I have used Mermaids on a personal and professional level and have been so impressed! When I sold my home a few years back, Mermaids did a move out clean for me. Everything was immaculate! After such a great experience, we hired them do weekly cleanings at our office space. They are so professional and reliable. Its so nice to come in to such a clean and tidy office every Monday morning. If you are considering using them, do it! You will not be disappointed! Thank you so much ladies!

This is the only place my whole family has used for years to clean oriental rugs...they've always done a fantastic job

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE! I had them pick up my silk oriental rug for a cleaning. It was a red and cream color when it left my house and returned the color of pepto bismol! Spoke with the manager and she told me that the rug came in as a charcoal gray color and the dirt was masking the pink. This is absolutely untrue and I have photos to prove it! I asked to speak to the owner and was told that he did not work there. Does that even make sense? They did not spot test the rug, refused to admit that they messed up and would not return my check. I would NEVER use them again.

I have been using this company to clean rugs for years. The work is always outstanding and I have never had a problem. They are fast and the pricing is great compared to other companies in the area.
