I had Rudy do a complicated kitchen repair to test his workmanship before giving him my flooring job and subsequently a complete bathroom remodel. Upon completion I asked for a fireplace quote because he hasn't disappointed me yet.

Quality work on a partially custom kitchen. Some plumbing was found in a wall that was removed and that was not expected. All in all a good experience, and we are enjoying our kitchen.

We had a small job. Toilets were replaced throughout the house. A microwave was replaced, and some cabinets were installed in the laundry room. They protected our floor and worked quickly. I went through home depot.

I don't normally give reviews unless I think I should be honest to save other people from experiencing the terrible experience I had. The landlord at my place had the kitchen remodeled 3 years ago. Angie came out and did the measurements, they were off because there were cabinets had to be adjusted to get them to work. It took them over 2 weeks to finish a small kitchen countertops, sink, and cabinets. It took them 6 hours to install a mounted microwave. Oh and I need to mention that they didn't even think of painting or finding a subcontractor to paint the kitchen. So we had new cabinets and countertops but old paint on the background. I had to paint the kitchen myself later. After installing the countertops they realized that they had to put in the shelves inside the cabinets, some that were too long that they had to wing it to place them in. They finally "finished" 2 weeks later and I had to call to have them place the baseboards, which they didn't even think about changing in the first place. Just a month after they installed everything the knobs started coming off, the cabinet doors started to come loose. When you take a look at the kitchen from a few feet away you can tell the cabinet doors are slanted. Angie came up with a terrible idea to "make more storage space" she suggested to put a bakers rack. Now that rack takes up so much space in the kitchen it looks smaller and to move in furniture it's very hard with it being in the way.
Overall very unprofessional and SLOPPY! Instead of coming up with a renovating idea to make the small kitchen look bigger and nicer they just changed the color of the kitchen cabinets and placed more updated furniture. I felt bad that our Landlord had to pay so much for a low quality job. Please don't bother with Rick or Angie they don't answer calls quickly and for the quality they offer you can pay less for a better job elsewhere!!!

While there were times that I hoped for better communication processes. The overall standards and effort were sufficient. In addition I used them via home depot as the primary integrator and I have provided them a review elsewhere. Safe to say these guys did well with what they were given, which was not much. Keep a sharp eye when making major changes (which should be default) as the home owner and do expect to be conscious and play an active role in tracking progress and issues that come up. Otherwise a solid contractor.

I normally wouldn’t review a contractor based solely on a quote, but this estimate was so egregious that I feel compelled to warn others. We received a quote of $135,000 for labor only for a project on a 13×13 kitchen renovation—translating to over $25,000 per week for a project estimated to take 5 weeks. That figure is simply hard to justify.

I do want to note that Ricky Ortiz, the owner’s son, was very professional and friendly. He answered all our questions and explained that their high-level quote might be influenced by Home Depot’s involvement - for our interaction with him and his honesty I gave this review 2 stars. I'm guessing The owner, Ortiz, not being involved in the write-up, measurements must have caused a miscommunication in what exactly this project involved. However, when we asked for a detailed breakdown of the costs—since we planned to handle the demolition and drywall ourselves—we were told by the owner, Ortiz, that they don’t provide specifics at that stage and that the quote was just a ballpark figure to start negotiations.

For comparison, we received two other quotes for the same project, each ranging from 50-70% less for total labor costs for this same job. While I can’t speak to the quality of their work (we ultimately are going with another contractor), a labor-only estimate of $135,000 for a 5-week project is, in my opinion, outrageous.

Photos included are of the kitchen space for context, not representative of any work Ortiz did.
