Contractor reviews in Springfield, Virginia

Used APM again the fix a negligent job by Roseman Lifelong construction. APM basically had to rebuild the entire back extension of our house. The results were fantastic. Everything was done to the highest standard. They did the job it took Lifelong a year to do in just over a month. APM has my absolute highest recommendation. I will absolutely use them again!

We hired APM Contractors to do several jobs such as installing kitchen cabinets, tub & tile installation,making our pantry bigger, and remodeling our basement. The quote was very reasonable, and we are happy with the results. We definitely plan to hire them again because they are skilled in a variety of projects.

Wow! APM contractors turned 800sq ft of useless moldy basement into a bright, cozy luxury lounge! What a transformation in 3 weeks. They demo-ed, cleaned, sanitized, waterproof the walls and floor of my 1934 bungalow basement. Look at how gorgeously they executed my vision for a fireplace-TV-bookcase centerpiece, vinyl plank flooring, drywall, lighting, new electrical, and paint. Rebuilt stairs, closet, doors for storage, laundry, utility. My tiny "prison" bathroom became a gorgeous, elegant black and white spa bath. I'm thrilled! They worked around the varied ceiling and floor levels, perfectly matching planks and tiles. Great customer contact, service and his team is top notch. They take pride in the work and I felt taken care of. If you want to love your basement hire APM!

We hired Alex and his team for the renovation of our dance studio, and we couldn’t be more pleased. Their precision and dedication resulted in an amazing transformation completed in a remarkably short timeframe. Highly recommend!

APM Contractors, Corp graciously took over a construction site when my previous contractor abandoned me! My heart was broken and my wallet was well damaged at this point. APM worked a few creative maneuvers to complete the installation of a basement level half bath, renovate a bedroom and finish a walk-in closet. The APM crew finished the work in 5 days! The crew is professional, efficient, diligent, and very patient. See attached photos. Thank you so very much! JT

We recently hired Alex and APM contractors to do much needed home renovation. The scope of work included complete floor replacement from removing the subfloor to getting new flooring on. We also had popcorn ceiling removal, painting, upgrading all the outlets, modernizing other various elements in the house including getting new cable railing for the stairs. Alex and his crew were always on time, responsive to the changes we asked and finish the work ahead of time. They even did minor upgrades that were not even part of the contract because they felt that would make the job look right. We definitely plan to use Alex and crew for any of our upcoming home renovation tasks. In fact, we have recommended his crew to some of our friends and family for their upcoming work.

Alex and his team were amazing. They did quite a bit of work; kitchen tiling, custom closet, swap out dishwashers, install a utility sink and more. The entire team was professional, courteous and friendly. And best of all they cleaned up after the work was done. Alex worked with my time schedule and got things done. I cannot say enough good things about APM Contractors Corp. I am looking forward to working with them on future projects.

I had a little water damage in my ceiling that I needed repaired. They came with in a day for the estimate. Once the estimate was approved they were out fast. They were quiet, kind and professional. Fair prices as well.

Alex and his crew are awesome!! Super professional and did a wonderful quality deck job in just one day. I coordinated with Alex throughout the process via text and he is very responsive and flexible. You can tell he really cares about his craftsmanship, his team, and making sure his clients are happy. I’d happily recommend them!

Ali and the team recently completed a few projects for us (roof replacement, new fence, new back patio). Overall, they were excellent to work with. The team was very professional, very communicative, and helpful and responsive in their midst of permitting obstacles. They also were incredibly efficient in their work, always on time and diligent with progress. We will be using them again!

Alex and his team were more than just professional; they were kind, caring, and passionate about their work. They installed hardwood floors in my bedroom, upgraded my stairs and doors, and did a complete makeover of my kitchen. The results were outstanding! More importantly, Alex and Moises were happy to listen and tend to all of my concerns, no matter how small or ignorant. They came back for touch-ups and always had a smile on their faces. Moises is an absolute wizard and can fix any problem. I highly recommend APM and look forward to hiring them for more jobs in the future.

APM Contractors was hired to do an extensive home renovation for our 4-stories town home. The project began on 11/2025.  The extensive renovation was for:
1) replacing carpet to Luxury Vinyl Plank for the entire house;
2) adding recess lighting for the entire house;
3) upgrading 2 existing full baths on 1st floor;
4) redesigning and upgrading the entire kitchen to accommodate new
appliances and kitchen cabinets; and lastly but not least
5) converting an unfinished basement to a complete bedroom with a full
bathroom.
6) and several unexpected but necessary add ons as the project progressed.

After 2 months of work, the renovation is coming to the final stage.  We are happy with the finished work APM contractors performed, from their precision of tile work in the bathrooms, to the LVP floor installation and the amazing kitchen transformation.  These structural changes not only added cosmetic enhancement but also modern characteristics to our town house.

APM contractors amazingly converted a dull unfinished basement to a completely awesome bedroom with a full bath.  This project involved digging up the concrete floor for new plumbing, new electrical, framing and insulating, and a new egress window … and much more that I don’t have the appropriate terminology to name all the work needed for the basement.

Needless to say that the basement project started on January 5th.  When the frigid January 25th polar vortex intense snow hit Virginia, after missing 2 days of work, APM contractors showed up and worked under such extreme low temperatures to continue working on the basement project.

When you are doing a home renovation, you know that there will be a lot of dust and debris around, however, APM contractors always tried to keep the workspace clean as best as they can every day they worked; which made living through the renovation bearable for us.  This point alone helped us save on the  additional temporary living expenses outside of our home.  We also appreciate that Alissom or his foreman Moises were always on site to oversee the crew for the work to be done on that day.  Or Alissom would tell us what materials we would need to get for the crew to do their work.

An additional point that APM provided is that they paint over the area(s) where they worked.  I think this is such a big PLUS on the APM part because the fresh paint gives such a complete finishing touch to the work.  Other additional services APM would do for us were that they would pick up from big and heavy building materials such as kitchen cabinets, bath tubs to small things like tile grout …etc… APM also hauled away old bath tubs or any discarded debris and trash keeping the construction site clean.

APM was referred to us from a friend and we would recommend APM to any one who is looking for home building contractors.

I cannot overstate how happy I am with the full bathroom renovation completed by APM Contractors. The team was respectful of my home, incredibly communicative, and worked quickly without sacrificing quality. I received regular progress updates, and they took the time to educate me on the process and answered all of my questions. My building is very old, and as expected, we uncovered a few challenges: They clearly explained the issues, outlined options, and worked collaboratively with me to make informed decisions. APM took the room to studs, installed insulation (which was a complete game changer!) and built the room exactly how I designed it. The craftsmanship speaks for itself—the finished bathroom looks fantastic. They worked with me every step of the way, and the entire experience was smooth and positive. I would absolutely recommend APM Contractors to anyone looking for skilled, honest, and communicative professionals at very reasonable price.

Reid was very great and knowledgable with the work he did for me i will use his service again in the future

best home improvement in Northern Virginia highly suggested great customers service and an overall vibe

I can’t say enough good things about Reid and After Hours Home Improvement. We’ve used them 5 times in the last six years. We have called them for HVAC, water heater, and drain issues and have never been disappointed. They’re honest, responsive, competitively priced, and they explain the issues so you know what you’re buying and why. And they’re dedicated to getting the job done right.

We had an HVAC that stoped working without explanation. After Hours spent the time to extensively troubleshoot and get it working again, then didn’t charge anything because it was still under warranty, not even labor for the hours spent troubleshooting. I couldn’t believe it.

If you need “an HVAC guy”, call Reid and After Hours. And if something else breaks around the house, give them a call. You won’t be disappointed!

I just wanted to share a quick note and thank you for the team at Afterhours. You made my house a home I and my family love. We are so glad that we decided to work with you.

The team is really a great team and easy to work with, because they listen the need you share with them and the dream house you are looking/describe for them and they make it real. I love the recess lights in the entire house so beautiful.

We can’t wait to continue to work with you for our next project.
Appreciate for a phenomenal job you have done and your professionalism and timely delivery of the project.

Thanks, guys!

Extremely pleased with our experiences. They are reliable, honest and operate with integrity.
Reid always takes the time to answer any questions we may have and provides all possible options, which gives us comfort before making final decisions. This vendor is professional and unmatched!
I highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality home improvements.

Mr. Reid Gravitte and his team were amazing. I will explain. So, 4 years ago when covid started, I had the opportunity to WFH. Not knowing how long this opportunity would last, I called a few contractors for an estimate on a bathroom renovation. And Reid was the one I trusted. Because the truth is we have 3 three bathrooms, but each bathroom had a purpose. One for washing hands, one for a restroom and one for showering. Yes, it was that bad, but it could have been worse. So, we decided to get one bathroom done, so we would at least have one whole bathroom that works properly. I informed Reid I only wanted the necessities done to the bathroom. So, he and his team proceeded to start the job, but while the job was happening, he came by and noticed the bathtub needed to be done. I knew I needed a new tub…but I was thinking about one thing…. MONEY! LOL. He then said what he would do to help me out, by the time the job was completed, the whole bathroom was done. We were very pleased. He is passionate. He is thorough. And at the end of the day, he will ensure the job is done well. Besides, it is more expensive to get it done TWICE.

Beware. We hired After Hours several years ago based on a referral from a friend. At first, we thought they were great. We used them for all of our quick repair needs. Recently, we have become very concerned that they are not being honest with us. We got a notice from DC Water that our water bill was unusually high. We asked After Hours to come look and see if they could figure out the problem. They did a dye test and couldn't find the issue. Without doing any further research, they told us we had to replace the water pipe connecting our house to the city mainline that runs under our front yard. We had also asked them for a quote to fix the retaining wall. After they claimed we needed to replace the pipe, they said the retaining wall was just going to end up part of the project anyway and quoted us $34,000 for everything! We thought that was outrageous and got quotes from Magnolia Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling and another company as well. The Magnolia technician came out, did some more research and first said we needed to find our meter in the yard before we could confirm the pipe in the yard was leaking because we needed to turn off the water at the meter to see if the meter was still counting water usage--which would indicate a leak. After Hours never even suggested to do that before claiming we needed to replace it! In fact, After Hours didn't even look for the meter, which turned out to be buried in our front yard! Magnolia also said it was unlikely it was the pipe anyway and probably just a problem with the meter. And they were right! The meter was just miscounting the water usage! Thank God we got Magnolia's second opinion. In any event, Magnolia said it would only be $10,500 to replace the pipe even if we needed to. After all that, After Hours had the gall to charge us $375 for "the diagnostic visit and dye test." They didn't tell us this was the cost beforehand and it's almost twice as much as Magnolia charged us for the same service--and in Magnolia's case they at least gave us an honest assessment and saved us thousands of wasted dollars.

Reid and his team at After Hours are the gold standard when it comes to various home improvement projects big and small. I have engaged them to do numerous home improvement projects of various sizes with them over the past few years and will continue to use them without any hesitation. The work is always done at the highest standard. I give them my highest recommendation and fully trust them to ensure my home is in its best shape.
