Mario and his crew spent three hours at our Springfield home yesterday, carefully shaping, lightening, and thinning the crown jewel of our property — a magnificent 50-foot maple tree I planted 35 years ago. The results were nothing short of breathtaking. In a time when true craftsmanship feels rare, their work was a masterclass in precision and pride.

Because this tree I planted 35 years ago holds such deep meaning for us, it was wonderful — even emotional — to see it restored to its full, graceful beauty. Gonzalo, the crew leader, and Guadalupe, the climber, worked with remarkable skill and coordination.

Guadalupe moved through the branches with the agility of an artist, clearing the interior with precision, while Gonzalo sculpted the canopy from the bucket truck with an expert eye for form and balance.

Mario’s team also transformed our front-yard dogwood, turning what had become a tangled mass of branches into a beautifully balanced tree that complements the maple perfectly. Together, these improvements have elevated the entire look of our home — and brought us tremendous happiness.

Thanks to the increased light and airflow, our beloved maple now stands stronger, healthier, and more vibrant than ever.

G&V has done tree work for me 3 times. Each time the boss / estimator has come out to scope the job and determine the cost.

Highly recommend G&V Tree Service! Out of five companies, they were the only ones who spotted a downspout near the removal site and planned accordingly to avoid damage. Edwin provided excellent communication throughout the process, keeping me updated on Ms. utility reports and scheduling. They were fast, professional, and thorough. I’ll be using them for all my tree care from now on.

Highly recommend G&V Tree Service for excellent work at a fair price. They were very quick to respond & remove a large tree in my yard that was damaged in the latest windstorm. I was impressed with how quickly and professionally Edwin's team took the tree down despite the difficult position it was in (cracked and leaning against another tree). Within a matter of hours, the tree was gone and the job site was cleaned. I have used G&V on multiple occasions; they are always my go to company for tree work.

I was looking for some rose flower seeds but they didn't have any but overall it's a good store and I really enjoyed getting my home needs from this store.

Nighttime is best time to go here- its less crowded and you can get help easier. Typical HD layout with gardening center on Left side, Lumber on Right. Assistant managers are very approachable though busy.

I took a friend to help her buy potting soil. Because we both are in our 70's, we wanted to buy only small bags (8 quarts) as larger bags would be too difficult to carry. We went to the garden center but only saw 25/50 quart bags. I knew they had other sizes based on their store website so I asked the worker where the other bags were. She stated that's the only bags the store had. She made no attempt to check with anyone else or to check her handheld computer. (My friend and I do not have smartphones.) Not finding anyone else to ask in the garden center, we walked towards the customer service center for assistance when by chance my friend happened to see the display of the 8 quart bags. I was glad she found them when she did as my friend has back problems and can only walk a limited distance in the store. When I told the store manager about the misinformation we received and the difficulty we had finding the smaller bags, he said his workers aren't expected to know where all the 100,000 items are located in the store. Although I agree with that, I do expect the garden center worker to know where the potting soil is since it's such a basic staple in gardens. There should have also been a sign near the 25/50 quart bags stating that smaller bags were located elsewhere in the store (also giving the aisle number). Home Depot needs to provide better service to their senior citizen customers.

A decent selection, but they don’t take care of their stock. The plants are wilted and unhealthy.

Alex and his team are amazing! Our lawn and gardens look gorgeous after they mow & weed. We highly recommend them.

What can I say. Wow just WOW! What a great service! We had a massive tree that needed to to be removed and two others that needed trimming. They showed up at 7 and didn't stop till 4pm! They were great and it sure was fun watching em fell that dastardly tree. They even raked up the yard afterward and not just the bits they needed to clean up. All in All Alex Lawn Care 10 out of 10 do recommend!

I have used Alex Lawn Service for three years on a variety of projects - lawn care, garden and leaf clean-up (including properties that have been neglected for years), trimming and cutting down trees. I have also recommended Alex to several of my friends and neighbors who now also use Alex. He takes great care and does beautiful work. His prices are not the least expensive but are fair for the quality work that he does. I recommend Alex's Lawn Service highly!

I have used them for years and they have done a great job at a competitive price. They also replenished mulch in the spring and and removed leaves in the fall. This winter, they removed snow and ice from the driveway, walkway, and sidewalk and did a great job. Highly recommended!

Completely redid my backyard from weeds and mud to nice grass. I thought it looked great when the work was done but it looks even better 6 months later. These guys know their stuff!

The team members are good at what they do and very hard working. The 3 men showed up early and finished replacing the about 800 SQ of grass by end of day. I was left with much extra Zoysia Grass Sod and I wish the initial estimate was more in line with what I needed. With that said, I would still recommend them for your lawn care. I'm planning to use them for other lawn replacement I need in the near future. The reason I gave them 4 stars is, every business can improve how they conduct business but I would probably would have given them a 4.5 if I had that option.

I found P&P Landscaping in a crunch when I needed snow removal in March 2013! At that time, Peter told me they also did lawn service, so when the weather cleared up, he came back and gave me an estimate for cutting my lawn and leaf removal.
They also do my yearly fertilizing and weed control; trim my bushes; weeding, planting and mulching the flower beds. And when we have a lot of snow, they also do my snow removal.
P&P has been doing my lawn service since then and I have been very pleased with their service. Over the years, I have recommended them to numerous friends who have also been very pleased with them.
