I am extremely pleased with Virginia Tree Care and Landscaping! They are my lawn service and when I say lawn service, I mean my grass has never looked so good. What an awesome transformation. They treat my lawn all year round from seeding, fertilizing, weeding, mulching..etc. They have also been a lifesaver by trimming a variety of trees and cutting limbs in my yard to stay safe in the many storms we’ve encountered over the years. David and his Team at Virginia Tree Care and Landscaping are fantastic. As a landlord I have had them out over the years on several projects in Burke from fixing fences, gates, adding mulch and bark to large playground areas, trimming trees, power washing siding and concrete, yard maintenance and mowing...you name it David will do it. On time, very professional, before and after photos. Estimates up front and very reasonable for the high quality work.

I have hired David and his team for several yard projects. They are always right on time and give very fair pricing, there are no price tricks or up charges-what he quotes is what you will pay. They have removed several large trees from my property, and when they are done, you can't even tell the tree was there, well cut and well cleaned. I highly recommend them for any tree work and landscaping.

We hired David and his Team after the last storm. He came right out. It's great to have someone local in Springfield who can come right out. The Service and pricing were great!!! My neighbor even hired them the same day. It is great to support Virginia Tree Care & Service a local business.

I don’t use this company and I will never use this company for the simple fact that they mow my neighbors yard and they Go quite literally 50+ miles an hour through our neighborhood to the fact that it seems like their trailer is gonna fly off of the truck through a residential neighborhood where the speed limit is 25 and there are several people out walking with dogs and children, especially in the morning when they come to mow

I am not a Steve’s Mowing customer, my neighbor is. Each time these guys come and mow my neighbors lawn or do any sort of maintenance they blow clippings, rocks, sticks or leaves (time of year depending) into my lawn, driveway, on my car, etc. It’s incredibly annoying.
I just got home and was sitting in my car finishing an email and debris files at my car (rocks, grass, sticks, etc), my car shakes from the leaf blower right next to my car pointed at my car and now my car has grass clippings in the door and on my windshield. There was no comprehensive reason to even use the blower from where this guy was towards my vehicle but like every other week… here they are. In the fall they blow leaves right into my driveway and lawn and into the road from my neighbors yard because they are too lazy to pick up the leaves… I have no trees in my yard, we pick up whatever it is that finds its way into our yard. These guys are so haphazard and careless and have zero care for other peoples property. I would never use this service.

The people sent to do the mowing have continually left the gates to my backyard open (despite finding them closed upon arrival). I have 2 dogs. I have called and spoke to the management office about this more than once. It happened again as recently as 04/19.
The owner of this business was extremely unprofessional and called me a liar. I sent the request for a mulch estimate weeks earlier. Evidently there was an outstanding charge on my account that paid once I became aware of (4/11). When out of the blue a representative from Steve's mowing shows up at my door, I assumed it was because on Friday (4/19), there had been a number of issues. The mowers showed up (unannounced) in the AM to mow. When I returned home (late morning), I discovered they only mowed the front and not the back. When I called the management office, I was told it was because my gate was locked from the inside. That is completely untrue and demonstrates what seems to be their initial response of shifting the onus of responsibility and blaming to the homeowner. Only one gate has a latch, which is accessed from the outside. The mowers returned in the afternoon. At which time, they left BOTH of my gates, not just unlatched or ajar, but WIDE OPEN. I have 2 dogs. They walked out of the backyard. Fortunately I saw them in the front yard, before they could get too far or venture to the street where they could have hit by a car, injured or worse. I assumed that was why the Steve's Mowing Rep was at my door. Instead I was asked about a mulching estimate. I didn't recall the mulching request from weeks earlier due to my upsetting experience from the previous Friday. I was mocked for not recalling that and I was even questioned as to whether I had the authority to make decisions regarding MY property. The Rep, identifying himself as the owner of the business, insisted that I had JUST submitted the request for the mulching since they response to such requests within 1 day. When I questioned how timely they were with my request to have my yard mulched since I didn't submit it yesterday or even last week, I was pointblank called a liar. Absolutely unacceptable. I will not be using Steve's mowing in the future. Perhaps he was having a bad day, but is not an excuse for poor behavior.

And as for the mulching service they provided me in the past (in 2023), it was subpar. They basically dumped mulch on top of weeds.

I started using Steve's Mowing for mowing and lawn maintenance last year. I also get mulching and bush trimming. This year they came out and gave me a quote for mulching, but didn't mulch the back yard. Why would I ask for my yard to be mulched and only want the front yard done? Who does that? They mulched the back yard last year and stated that they could tell if the mulch in the back yard was theirs even though it was a year old. The estimator showed up at my house and all she could say was she was right. She had the time wrong that they were at my home; I should not be charged for the 20 minutes they sat in front of my home. She had they were there for 70 minutes, no 50. She picked up some mulch in the back year and never gave me an answer either way weather it was "Steve's Mowings" mulch because it was. She then found an error in her calculation of the estimate, but then said wait "no I am right". I asked her to cancel the service and she stated, "that is probably best for the both of us because we are as disatisfied we you as you are with us. You have a nice day". I told her I hoped she didn't and I asked her to get off my property. She lied. She never validated the mulch in the back yard because Steve's Mowing put it there. This company is very expensive, does 1/2 the job and it's employees are extremely condensending and rude. Beware the owner is rude as well.

Steve’s mowing have been coming to help my parents as the age and they have been amazing. They realized they overcharged so the owner showed up and explained in person. My parents were so appreciative of their honesty.

Steve's Mowing LLC arrived with a crew of 4 to lay mulch around our property. They arrived on time and walked through the property with me to insure they knew exactly what my expectations were. They completed the job in 3 hours and we are DELIGHTED with their work! They took excellent care to insure no damage to our plants - we have lots of
Hosta and shrubs. We will definitely choose Steve's Mowing for future landscaping/gardening services! Job well done.

We are a military family living in Florida and are currently renting out our home in Burke. We have been so grateful for the crew at Steve's Mowing for taking such good care of our yard in our absence. It give us such peace of mind.

Prior to leaving Burke, my daughters and I planted an 8-inch, maple sapling in the front yard in remembrance of my dear mother. In fact, we placed her ashes there, as well. A neighbor texted to let me know that the tree had grown multiple sucker branches and had begun to look like a mangy bush. I was disheartened to hear about our little tree, so I reached out to Ms. Kathy and asked her if she would send someone out to look at the tree and provide us with an estimate.

The very next day, Claire called me to ask me if she could fix the tree up while she was out there to provide an estimate--for free. She said it wouldn't take her a minute to prune it and make it look like an actual tree. I insisted on paying her, but she refused. It was then that I told her what the little tree meant to me and that I hoped we could someday return to the house when my little girls and the tree were grown.

Claire shared with me the little tree was now close to 12-feet tall and asked if she could send a picture to me! I was both shocked and deeply touched by Claire's kindness.

There is a reason we should all be working with local, family-owned companies--especially these days. The folks at Steve's Mowing were loyal and kind to us when we lived in Virginia and have continued to take such very good care of us even in our absence.

They ran over my veteran father’s halloween decorations and then refused to replace them. We canceled our services with them.

Desmond of NuLeaf has been terrific. He is careful to explain his work on our lawn, takes care not to harm plants, and is pleasant as well as professional.
