    BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!!!
Steadfast construction installed a deck for my home. They did not properly grade under the deck so I had to have them tear down the frame to properly grade! AS you know Arlington can have flooding issues and we also have a basement. They did not plan for a proper installation and the crew was clueless on what to do. The EXPENSIVE deck was not installed correctly. The Fiberon composite deck should have an overhang on the stairs, which was not done. The Border was also not done correctly. They used TREX spacers for the deck instead of Fiberon which voids the warranty. So that also had to be replaced. The decking should be laid from the front to the back, but again was not done correctly and the deck is awkward and unprofessionally done. the VP of the company Jack was VERY unprofessional and told me I reminded him of his WIFE because I asked him to fix my almost 20k deck! Every step of the deck installation was done poorly and it is reflected in the "final product". This deck is crooked and falling apart already!! It was an awful experience. Please BEWARE of this company. They are shady and unprofessional. I was so disappointed. They cut so many corners!

    Responding to JACK-

I was never ok with the final product. That is FALSE. Your company never completed my deck and it looks terrible. You left materials in my yard and did not FIX anything. Your company is DISHONEST. There are so many issues with this deck and YES I have the right to ask for a second opinion if I am uncomfortable with a project on my property.

I had a patio, covered pergola, sliding glass door, lights, and steps installed -- Steadfast did a great job from beginning to end. Everyone I interacted with went above and beyond for me. Honestly I can't say enough nice things about them and their work. The door install, the pergola, the steps, and the electrical are all high-quality and I sincerely appreciate it. I certainly did not expect this process to be a smooth one but they made it look easy.

Back in January 2022 when we decided to add a sunroom in our house, we started by reaching out to contractors we found in Angi’s list. We requested three companies to come over and give us an estimate. Based on the conversation we had with these companies, we decided to go with Steadfast Construction. We were impressed by Jake Greenspun’s approach of explaining things and the cost estimate. Although there were no personal referrals, we went by our gut in choosing Steadfast. We are glad for that that we made the right (rather perfect) decision. The work was supposed to start in early June but actually started on June 20, 2022, as Jake asked us to wait for one of his best crew to do the work. We are glad that we waited as Mirko and his partner Jose were unbelievable. Whatever I write here will not fully justify the quality of work and the advice they gave us along the way. Mirko is a perfectionist. We now have an outstanding sunroom completed in less than two months and please bear in mind that there was no work for two weeks while waiting for the special-order windows to arrive. I would also like to give a shout out to Omar Ruiz from the office who was always available to answer my questions promptly and the follow-up he did on the work. I would whole heartedly recommend Steadfast Construction and especially Mirko and his crew to do the job.

We interacted with Jake from Steadfast who was just wonderful to work with. He is professional, knowledgeable and punctual- and just an all around good person to work with. He is also a really talented designer and contractor. I highly recommend working with him!

We replaced our wooden deck with treks. Professional and punctual. We had an issue with a piece of treks sticking up after the work was done and they came out that week to fix it. Quite pleased with the work. Will definitely recommend them. Price was mid-high range among our quotes but because they were the most responsive and professional, we decided to go with them.

I contracted with Steadfast to build a screened porch with a gas fireplace based upon a referral and after my own research of other builders in the area. As background, I don’t give positive 5-star ratings very often. In fact, almost never. My past experience with builders and service companies in general has been mixed at best and that is being generous - I have encountered poor quality work, lack of management oversight or accountability of workers, disappearance of work crews to other work sites and unwillingness to fix poorly or incorrectly done work. However, before my porch project had even begun, I had become convinced that co-owners Kenny and Jack were passionate about both the quality of their work and the integrity they put behind their commitment to satisfy their clients. I can attest to the fact that they delivered and demonstrated the highest standards for both the quality of their work and the performance of their workers. If there was a problem they fixed it without hesitation. They followed-up to ensure I was satisfied with each phase. They called me to confirm the arrival times of workers. They held their workers accountable. And Jack, who oversaw my project, visited the site almost daily to oversee the work and ensure it was being done correctly. As a result, I never had to worry about a major mistake requiring a costly redo. I can’t overstate enough to those potential clients considering using Steadfast just how rare this degree of oversight was, and how this sets them far apart from those other companies I have had the less than stellar experiences with in the past. I would add, it was a pleasure to work with Jack who was always responsive and more than willing to explain every aspect of the construction. While Steadfast uses a number of 2 or 3 men crews, they assigned one veteran carpenter, Rudy, to my project, to do the majority of work, including installing support posts and beams (for the deck off the second floor), the porch frame, installing the roof, remove a window and install a door, frame the fireplace, build the knee wall and install all the inside wood trim. He did all this alone. While this project obviously took longer as a result, Rudy’s carpentry work was done to perfection. In fact, Rudy is perhaps the best carpenter I have ever seen. In short, I was very happy with the final results and impressed with Steadfast Construction and its team. Well done! It is also promising to see there are some companies still out there that strive to meet the high standards of work and integrity that their clients expect.

Steadfast just completed a deck and screened in porch project at our house and we couldn't be happier. The craftsmanship was top notch, with the crew hard-working and always striving to make the customer happy. The owners, Kenny and Jack, were both on top of the project, with plenty of direct supervision and guidance. I will use them again for my next project.

Steadfast replaced our existing deck and built us a sunroom. The work is well done and beautiful. We are very pleased, especially with the head carpenter Omar and his co-worker. They were extremely diligent, kind and professional. I would recommend this company.

Overall, I was thrilled with Steadfast's work. They built a portico with a flagstone stoop and walkway for me. The end product was beautiful, and makes the front of my house look so much better. Their workers were timely, productive, and knowledgeable and their management was communicative, professional, and very responsive to questions and concerns. They also gave me a great deal so I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again.

Brandon and Manuel did a great job with the deck refurbishment and rebuilding our small balcony.

We are very pleased with their work and highly recommend the Steadfast Construction team.

Abel & his son Jesus were very professional, arriving early in the morning to start working on redecking our 29 yr old wood deck, work quality was very precise in fitting the composite boards to the existing deck structure, informed us about the condition of the structure, worked til late afternoon/early evening, and cleaned up work site. This is the second project Steadfast has done for us, and we recommend them for deck & redecking projects.

    Converted deck to screened porch.

We had an overall great experience with Steadfast. We had a 2 level deck that we wanted the lower level converted into a screened in porch and an existing large window cut into a sliding glass door. Miguel came out and gave us an estimate. It wasn't the cheapest nor was it the most expensive. It took longer than we would have liked (2 weeks) before we got the written estimate, but when we did, it was well done and included computer graphic of what the fined project would look like. We decided to go with Steadfast because of all the stellar reviews it had on Angie's list and I liked Miguel's manner. Plus, the business is established and had good ties to the community. The project was supposed to start in 5-6 weeks. It ended up being 10 before it actually began but in their defense, it was the end of April when Miguel made his initial visit and I can only imagine that is their busiest time of year. We had a couple of issues with calls not being returned during the 10 week time between the initial visit and the start of the project but once the project began, they were responsive and efficient. Gary and James were the 2 men that worked on our project. They were professional, respectful and their work was done well. It took a total of 10 days from start to finish. Their carpentry was great. We needed the existing deck extended and several more beams added, plus some of the railing was damaged and needed replacement. We wanted separate frames for each screen, so that when one is damaged it could easily be replaced. All professionally done.
Adding the sliding glass door was a bit of a project and required them to cut through our brick exterior to create a bigger hole They built a vacuum tent in the interior of our home to keep the brick dust from getting everywhere and the finished door was installed perfectly. Once they were finished it looked as if it had always been there.
They installed Dry Snap. A prefab system that is installed under the existing top deck to create a ceiling and gutter system for the lower porch. The online reviews for the system were not great and my take on them was that if not installed correctly, the system will have lots of problems. I was worried. 2 days after the installation, we had a monster thunderstorm and there was a leak (a small leak for the amount and of rain we had and the power of the storm) The leak was where the system and the brick meet. Gary and James came back out immediately and resealed it and we haven't had a issue since. There was also a small issue that came up after the project was finished and paid for. The handle of the screened door wasn't opening and locking correctly and Gary came out with in two days and fixed the it.
The only reason I did not give them a perfect rating is because of the delay in the project time and the few calls not returned before the projects start. Which in the grand scheme of things ended up being no big deal but was annoying at the time.

It has only been 2 months since the completion of the project, so I cannot speak about the long term quality of the work but as of now we are extremely happy with our new porch and Steadfast and I do not expect that to change; however I will update my review in a few years to let you know how everything has held up.

We were moving back into the area and wanted to build a bigger deck, excavate land under the deck to put a concrete slab for a shed, and build a bigger patio around the slab. Our land is on a hill and several retainer walls needed to be built to make sure erosion wouldn't ruin any of the patio and slab.

From start to finish, Nick (our contractor) was very responsive. It was a bit hard finding contractors to want to work with us because we lived out of state at first. Not for Steadfast. He worked with us throughout the project and we felt at ease with how the project was executed. Even when our design had to be changed due to the slope of our yard, it was addressed immediately with Nick coming to us.

The onsite workers were respectful and cleaned up everyday. The quality of work is superb and we couldn't be happier with our new deck and patio. The built for it to last a long time. No issues at all with this company and we will use them again should we need another project done. Thank you, Steadfast (Nick), for the wonderful job. We love it!

Steadfast construction built a 12 x 20 ft screened in porch and ~450 sq ft flagstone patio with knee wall. They did an excellent job on both, completing the porch in about 10 days and the patio in 3-4 days. They were hard to schedule, based on other work, but once they were available they focused on our project and did high quality work. Did have a couple issues with porch, but they responded quickly and continued to work with us until the fixes were completed. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again and/or recommend them to a neighbor for similar projects.

Steadfast built a new deck for us five years ago, and just finished a front porch for us this week. For design and options, we worked with Miguel both times and he was fantastic to work with. He was very knowledgeable about the projects, and was able to provide a variety of 3-D renderings which were both helpful for us to review, as well as for HOA approval. Omar was fantastic with communication for both projects and kept us abreast every step of the way. We had the pleasure of having Franklin and his team build both the deck as well as the porch. There is nobody better to work with than Franklin and his work and attention to detail is outstanding! Over the years, we have done a number of home improvement projects. The ones that rate the best by far, are the two that were completed by Steadfast and built by Franklin and his team. They are first class all the way and we look forward to working with them in the future! Thank you Steadfast and thank you Franklin for a superb experience.

Steadfast did a beautiful job with my screened in deck - they even built a gorgeous wood burning fireplace!

We own a single family house in Reston and Jack helped us build a screened porch and redid the deck. They completed the project on time and Jack was responsive during the construction. The same winter we had issues with the cold air coming into our kitchen and this was due to them not closing the flap after construction. We have left several messages requesting them to fix this issue and sent many text to Steadfast owners and Jack but unfortunately we have not received any response from them so far.

My husband and I hired Steadfast Construction on the advice of our neighbors, who had a stellar experience with them when they hired Steadfast to build their deck, screened in porch, and patio. Based on how beautiful their construction project turned out, it was an easy decision for us. After reviewing three bids, just to be sure, Steadfast came out on top in terms of quality promised and delivered, design and construction expertise, proven track record, excellent customer service reviews, and, of course, value for the price. Our experience with Steadfast was equally as outstanding as our neighbors, and we now have a beautiful new deck, patio, and a shed. And, at every step in the process, Steadfast went above and beyond to ensure that the work was completed on time (except when the weather intervened - and they called us to explain the weather delay and the conditions that would allow them to resume work), to our satisfaction (to include hand picking the deck and railing in coordination with us over the phone and at no extra cost), and within our budget (explaining every item and at every step so there were no surprises). The invoicing was pristine, they handled all the permits and inspections, and worked with us on the design, even when we asked for something to be changed or added something, such as building a fence, redoing our walkway, and having no middle posts so we had more open space under the deck to clean our kayaks and bikes. Everything is beautiful, functional, and solid. Everyone we worked with at and through Steadfast was fantastic--friendly, expert, and thorough. And, to top it off - their work is guaranteed for two years. We would highly recommend Steadfast.

I am writing this review now as I watch my deck falling a part two years after construction and it reminded me how terrible my experience was with Steadfast Construction. In December 2019 Steadfast Construction signed a contract with us to build a deck. Throughout the design and build process, Steadfast construction exhibited poor professional behavior, poor communication, poor workmanship, and a complete failure to supervise its workers and guarantee the construction of a quality deck as per the agreed-upon contract. Steadfast never discussed deck edge options which led to a poor-quality deck. During the entire construction process, we encountered repeated design mistakes and poor-quality construction that required corrections. It was almost if we could not trust the company to build a quality deck without constant supervision. The project manager was rarely on-site during construction which led to unsatisfactory construction. At the end of the construction, we identified an issue with the steps. Steps were built incorrectly with non-weight bearing wood fascia exposed which causes the steps to quickly wear down and chip after routine foot traffic. After continued asking over several months Steadfast finally delivered the material to fix the bottom box stair, but never completed the repairs. When asked repeatedly to discuss how we could fix the deck edge they refused to discuss options. Steadfast left construction material laying in the front yard for us to deal with in a very unprofessional manner and never offered to either pick it up or place it someplace else. Steadfast admitted they had made a mistake, but took our money and failed to make good on their promises to fix the identified issue and unprofessionally pulled off the project. They did not honor the warranty in the contract. Update in 2022 I still have a pile of construction materials I moved to the back yard and a poorly build deck that is falling apart. Do not use this company!

My husband and I could not be more thrilled about the new deck on our home. Steadfast has some of the best contractors I have seen in quite some time. They truly care about what they build. Our crew went above and beyond making sure my husband and I were happy. From the quality of materials used, to the visual appearance and the craftsmanship put into our deck we have no doubt it will last and look amazing for years to come. We have received many compliments for neighbors as well. We are very grateful! 😁
