We had a few estimates for the job we needed done in our home. Mike's Electrical had the best price. When I called him he came right out and had the work done in no time. Mike and his 2 workers were very professional and courteous. Mike even found some electrical hazards we had in our attic and fixed them for a minimal price. If it wasn't for Mike and his crew we would have never known there was issues up there. Never know what could have happened if they didn't find them. Would refer this company to anyone who needs work done. Also if we need anything done in the future I know who to call.

I had serious electrical issues at my home and luckily found Mike and family! From my initial evaluation and estimate to the completion of the job, I felt 100% satisfied . They
are professional, honest, and extremely dedicated to their work. Mike's is a local, family owned business and you can tell they are committed to their customers. They explained all the work that needed to be done, and stuck with their estimate even though they encountered some obstacles that they overcame. They took care of everything, including (of course) the necessary permits, and communication with Dominion Power. Throughout the two days of work, I was so impressed with the quality of work, work ethic, and genuine care for ensuring that my home was safe. I highly recommend Mike's ...you will not be disappointed! I will call them whenever I need repairs, and look forward to telling my friends about them.

These guys did a great job, and came over ASAP when I needed them. I was having a gas stove installed when we discovered that I needed a 110 outlet in order to complete hookup of the stove (My old electrical stove used a 220.) The plumber, Larry Ables, called Mike's Electrical Service and Mike promptly called me back to say they would come over later that same afternoon. Thank you, Mike! I would have been without any stove or oven had they not come over. He also gave me pricing for some other small jobs I had planned around the house. Wow, It’s great to find good service!!

I must say I am so greatfull and happy that I found them! They were polite and ready to help over the phone. I called right after our issue happened and they were there in about an hour. We had the pleasure of having Mike the owners son. And I had read the reviews and choose them and they did great work I don't even think they were here an hour. Found the problem fixed it and left simple fast and polite. We are definitely making this our electric company we need something we're calling them and I believe whoever is reading this should use them to! I know this is long I'm wrapping it up but they are also reasonably priced. The work I had done was a simple and quick fix but very reasonable! Thanks for good work guys!

We had a few different electrical jobs that needed to be done in our house (adding light fixtures, adding a fan vent, trouble shooting a ceiling fan and foyer lights). We called Mike's Electrical Service and we were able to schedule an appointment in the same week. We thought that they were just going to come to see what needed to be done, but they were able to get everything fixed that same day. Both Mike and Russell were friendly and very professional. They made sure to cover our wood floors when fixing the light in the foyer and all debris was taken care of. We definitely recommend this company for any electrical job that needs to be done and we look forward to using them in the future.

Mike did an outstanding job of re-wiring our cable system. He called to notify he was on his way for an estimate and he was prepared to do our work the same day. We accepted his reasonable bid and our re-wire was done in a professional manner. Our wiring was very complicated and he set everything up the proper way. Any debris and old wires, etc were cleaned up. We are very pleased with his knowledge of how to fix our problem and he explained what he had done. I highly recommend Mike for any electrical problem or issues. Thank you for a job well done!

This is my initial review and I have to say on an happy with the work completed by Russell. Professional, social and on time. We paid an after hours price which was competitive to other rates given by other companies therefore they received our business. We had an electrical mess/mesh and a burnt out outlet which would have caused many more issues. We discussed a complete refit of all outlets and switches and were more than content with their offer. Tomorrow, Russell will come out with his team and complete more work on these aged outlets (my words). I will update my review after the next course of work and provide my comments. Thus far, a great company to have on my side.

**UPDATE** It has been nearly 18 months since services were performed and we are still happy with the work that was provided. We have had zero issues and I would still use Mike`s Electrical Service again. After reading my initial review, I would like to add that three gentlemen came out to perform work on the entire house. Every outlet (aluminum wiring house) was made to code, along with every switch. Outdoor outlets were made to code and fixtures were corrected as well. They worked around our schedule as we had an infant in the house. They accommodated their time around nap time and overall provided a comfortable experience. They also conducted a good cleanup and left only one piece of cable. Anyways, great service, great cost and great employees.

UPDATE 2: 2.5 years since work was done. All good in the house! I am not going to post updates anymore. Mike's is your go to, and mine, for electrical.

We called to have our pool light fixed. He initially told us he charges $185 an hour and also stated this was something that should take less than an hour and typically doesn't take long to fix a pool light. He came to our home, was there about 10 minutes, charged $185 for coming out, only to tell us we would have to wait on a quote for the parts. Received 2 quotes from him- depending on what light we wanted, $1500 or $2000. The initial $185 we paid was not subtracted from this quote. We felt this quote was very high, after doing further research. We took the light apart ourselves, replaced the bulb and gasket and the light now works. Cost was around $50. We also called another electrical company who would've only charged $89 for a "service call." Save yourself some money and call around.

Thank you Melissa, Elizabeth, Bryan and Gary for always being there when needed. We have called you on several occasions and you all have always responded with satisfactory. We appreciate our recent install of the ceiling fans in the garage.

Replaced my pool pump motor with excellence. On time, knowledgeable, affordable and professional mannerism. Additionally, he was the only electrical contractor that answered his phone on a Saturday. I definitely saved Mikes in my contracts listing.

Excellent work! Replaced panel box, meter box and added exterior emergency disconnect (required by Norfolk City). Work was started and completed on time as promised. Great quality work and passed inspection. Price was as quoted, no extras added at completion of job. Electrical work is not cheap. You get what you pay for.

I called Mike's to get a repair for a burned out 110V outlet and an estimate for a new 240V outlet. Mike was able to send a truck to my house--the same day--and fixed my problem. His electricians quoted me a great price for the 240V outlet installation, and did it immediately. In less than an hour, my outlet was fixed, a new one was installed, all was cleaned up, and everything done! Great Job!

I called for a single outlet issue that was showing a crossed wire. He charged me almost $200 to come out (not unusual). When he did show up, he started ranting about things totally unrelated to what I called him about to the point where I literally could not get a word in on the conversation. I told him to stop trying to upsell me to bring a 50 year old house up to "code" when it has been like that its whole life. He continued ranting about things completely separate from what I brought him in to assess, and then he tried to upsell me for 5K instead of the $200 fix I was asking. He then insisted on payment before leaving and provided me a written quote the next day that was not what I asked for. When I asked for the limited scope of work that I hired him for, he refused to to it and insisted that I only hire him for the 5K scope of work. I rolled my eyes and will never do business with him again.
Follow up: Less than 24 hours after posting this review, I received a remarkably unprofessional literally threatening me, my home, and the residents. Mike himself then stated that he would attempt to get authorities to inspect my house looking for code violations because I did not hire him for the 5K laughable estimate that he said was necessary to bring the entire house up to current code. So, he literally attempted to shake me down using local government inspectors to scare me into paying his excessive prices. DO NOT LET HIM IN YOUR HOUSE!

Mike Electric was outstanding from start to finish. They were polite, professional, and demonstrated great attention to detail while hanging our chandelier. They made sure everything was perfectly aligned and secure, and even took the time to thoroughly clean up afterward. We couldn’t be more pleased with their work and highly recommend them.

Commercial property in which I lease. They shut my business down for several hours due to unprofessional service. One fell through the ceiling, also damaged a 4ft by 8ft mirror, moved my furniture without putting it back, did not clean up debris from removing ceiling tiles, left nails on the floor and left the place a mess. This was a chaotic nightmare. The landlord chooses these people, I would not ever hire them. The damage done for postponing opening to clean and to replace my mirror is upsetting. I am a small business. I have camera footage of the mirror being damaged and can provide photos of the conditions they left my business in.

Update: Completely rude and unprofessional. Mike stated my mirror already had damage and that it didn't matter it was damaged further. Please do not use these people especially if you are a woman. They are derogatory and rude.

Yet another update: Called me 5 times in a row, breathing heavy then hanging up. I am very concerned now.

EV charging station install. Great job, great communication, very professional, no mess and competitively priced. Thoroughly recommend Wayne for any electrical work.

Wayne did a great job installing my EV charger. He is very experienced, and likes what he is doing. So, the outcome is excellent! I got the lowest estmate from him too. I definitely recommend.

Called needing to schedule a hot tub electrical inspection, spoke to Wayne and he fitted me in the next day. Great service and Wayne was awesome, really nice dude and very professional. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend or use Castles Electric again.
