Can't say good enough things about these people. Not only were they on time, they called me before they got here to let me know they cleaned up a tree that hadn't been Touched in years, and they did it at a very budget. Friendly price cleaned up after themselves and made sure. I was satisfied before they left. The customer's service is great. The Crew is awesome and polite and were super friendly to my dogs. That that got loose. Thank you so much for making my yard so much prettier now

Poor Folks Tree Service just finished cutting some trees in our backyard. I contacted them at the beginning of this week, the owner Tom, came out to give me an estimate the next day and despite the stormy weather they managed to squeeze us in for this week. The estimate was very reasonable, response time and communication was excellent and the guys are such hard working team. I can't say nothing but good and thank you. I wish all companies would deliver such good service.

Monday morning, received the call that Poor Folks Tree Service was on the way. The entire crew were there on time to get the job completed. From the Foreman, Tree cutting guy and the rest of the crew, provided World Class Service!!! They explained what the process was and really made me feel like a valued customer!!!

I had 5 different quotes and they were the best!!!

Lastly, their office manager also made the process easy by calling City Utilities to have the grounds marked up to show gas lines, electric and water lines. Again, a sincere World Class Service experience!!!

Value was #1!!!

I recently had Poor Folks Tree Service trim and remove several large oak trees on my property, and they did an outstanding job from start to finish. The experience began with a quick and accurate estimate, competitive rates, and clear, precise scheduling. On the day of service, they called in the morning to confirm their arrival time, which I appreciated.

The crew worked diligently throughout the entire day, handling multiple loads of lumber with efficiency and care. What stood out most was the professionalism and courtesy of the employees—they were polite and respectful throughout the process.

When the job was complete, the area was left spotless, which truly impressed me. The attention to detail and thorough cleanup showed their commitment to quality work.

Tom with Poor Folks Tree Service and the entire crew that was at my house today - I can't say thank you enough! Seriously, the BEST pricing around too!! I will recommend Poor Folks to anyone needing any sort of tree services. Everyone is kind and extremely hard-working and the turn around time was amazing! I called last week, got an estimate the following day and then this week, the job got done in just a couple of hours. Thank you all for doing such an amazing job! 👏👏👏

Hired them years ago and they were great. Called July for a smaller job and estimate was good with a 1-4 week time frame. Called the end of week 3 to make sure we were on the schedule for next week; they showed up the next day to “give me an estimate for the work”. Got a call from the office 3 days later basically scolding me. Apparently I had confused her which is why she resent the crew for an estimate. I asked her why didn’t she call me if she was confused. I reiterated that I was confirming we were on the schedule for this week; because now it is week 4; and she said due to emergencies and severe weather the timeframe would move. But we had beautiful weather in the 70s for the last 2 1/2 weeks, I’m not sure what emergencies they’re referring to. We also had a contract, but apparently that doesn’t matter. I canceled the whole job.

These guys did a great job. We had a very difficult tree that was overhanging our lake and dock. They worked hard and took the tree down without dropping anything in the lake, or on the dock. I was amazed by the climber and how well they rigged all of the branches down. Afterwards everything was cleaned up and without any turf damage. Very professional and thorough. I highly recommend them. Picture makes it look small, but it was 70’+ high.

Update Jan 2025 I had them come out to take out 5 more trees. They arrived exactly when they said they would. A crew of six worked a full day, including a thorough cleanup and repair of lawn divots caused by the trees. Also did a great job grinding three stumps. I still highly recommend them.

My neighbors were getting a tree cut, and the team at Poor Folks took care of me at the same time.
The team was quick and cleaned up well. I had to pick up very few sticks and overall the price I paid was very very reasonable.

Poor Folks Tree did a big job for me large elm tree in a difficult spot . Brandon and his crew did a great job. Professional, polite, hard working, cleaned up after. A pleasure to work with. I asked for a couple of extras which I was happy to pay for and they accomplished it and the extra price was very reasonable.

Overall, the price for the entire job with the extra amount was very reasonable and better than others, their price was right in line with others and very worth the cost to get the job done. Thank you Poor Folks Tree and you have my highest recommendation. Dealing with their lady in the office was also a pleasure and she was a joy to deal with. Well done. Highest recommendation.

I had 7 pine trees about 60 feet tall in my back yard and all the pine straw was getting way out of hand. Called around a few places and didn’t like the offers. A friend referred me to these guys and was really happy with the overall outcome and price. Not only did they give me the best quote but did all that work in TWO days. WITH clean up. Amazing work by these guys. Super professional. Read the bad reviews and can 100% disagree with them.

Amazing service from Poor Folks Tree Service! We needed 2 large maple trees removed/w stumps grinded from our backyard, and PFTS gave us the best estimate of 3 other tree services. We called PFTS on a Monday to set up an appointment, and the workers were at our home the next day to start the job (we were very lucky to slide into the schedule that quickly though)!
The office secretary was very helpful and friendly, to start off the process. She got us on the schedule, quickly. On the first job-site day, The workers removed 1 tree in just an hour, and had to come back the next morning to remove the last tree and grind both stumps. We also had 2 tree limbs removed from the neighbors yard, (protruding over our driveway), and PFTS used their truck with the "long boom/saw" to quickly cut those limbs.
The whole job took less than 8 hours to complete (both days, total time), and we were happy with the professionalism and quickness. The chainsaws they use are quiet enought that I actually slept (I work nights) the 2nd day they were working. Our neighbors were also satisfied with the professionalism and courtesy from PFTS (no damage to neighbor's yards or fences). I will definitely recommend Poor Folks Tree Service to anyone who needs tree service or trees removed.

Poor communication. Left a voicemail asking for an estimate, and they called back a day or two later and arrange to come out and estimate the work. Afterward, I had to leave another voicemail asking how to go forward. They wait a full 17 days to call back, and try to use that voicemail as confirmation of the job when I never paid or spoke to anyone on the phone after the estimate. Other companies have a convenient method to confirm work via online or text. I don't know of any other company that communicates this way.

Poor Folks Tree Service is extremely professional and efficient. My wife and I recently had a tree fall on our home and we received multiple price quotes from different tree companies. Some companies had obvious questionable ethics in their price quotes in some cases triple what Poor folks Tree Service offered. These questionable companies did this to gouge insurance companies. At the end of the day we all end up paying for those kinds of actions. Poor folks tree company held themselves to a higher moral standard.I couldn’t be happier with their service. Their team showed up On time, was proficient, took care not to damage any parts of our home and Were always courteous and polite! Any needs I have involving trees in the future, will definitely be handled by Poor folks Tree Co !!

While Poor Folks did rid me of the mid-sized trees, and did a great job stump grinding, but....
The dispatcher I'd dealt with couldn't seem to do her job worth a damn. While the site guy told me 3 weeks out, the "dispatcher" phones me at 7:30p on Fri, to tell me work is starting Tuesday. I had already explained that the tenant had a disabled car in her driveway, and I refused to press her to move it (disabled).
To make things here brief, said dispatcher screwed up with me a 2nd time. Just could not seem to do her job.
Tree crew shows up, did a great job, except...their equipment left very deep ruts throughout. I've had other companies place some kind of protective placement as to not destroy the grounds.
I have called Poor Folks' office several times in the past week. I had spoken to a much more together person, who said they would contact Brandon (supervisor). I have not heard back yet. It would take a small dozer, all of ten minutes to alleviate this issue. Perhaps now that the rains have stopped, some progress may happen. If it does, I'll be glad to update my review. By the way, my tenant is waiting, so she can get her car back in her driveway. Thanks.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this company! From the first point of contact with the owners wife, to the owner (Tom) coming to give me an estimate and then the guys coming to cut down my tree; their customer service & work ethic is unmatched!!! They were in and out in less than 2 hours and they cut down a 75’ tree. They had a full crew supporting and guiding each other with every falling limb to make sure everyone was safe and unharmed. They even cleaned up the sawdust on my deck and gazebo. I can go on and on about how great they were but I have work to do lol if you are looking for a great crew to cut down your tree they are it … The guys were all so friendly and though the access to my yard was not a walk in the park they got the job done with a smile on their faces!!! Thank you to everyone that played a part in FINALLY getting this stupid tree out of my yard; now it’s time for a BURN PARTY!!!

Had another company tell me the pecans in my yard were dying and needed removed, called poor folks since they seemed to be arborists first and they came out to do some pretty extensive cleaning. Was most concerned about proximity to the house and guest house for one of them and they didn't even graze the structures, They left the property in better shape than they found it. Dakota and the team of guys he was with did a fantastic job.

We would give them 10 stars if we could! The crew of 8 was amazing! They came with a huge chipper, bucket truck, other trucks, tree climbers and even an arborist to ensure the continued health of our trees! They are very professional, fairly priced, and work as a fine tuned orchestra. They definitely know how to get the job done! After checking with three other services, we are definitely pleased and happy we chose Poor Folks Tree Service! Our trees and house look amazing!

We had such an amazing experience with Poor Folks today! They removed several trees and bushes from our property, ground several stumps, and removed a cumbersome metal gazebo overgrown in English ivy. The owner was fair and transparent in his estimate and clearly isn’t trying to nickel and dime customers. The crew is a well-oiled machine with everyone getting right to work and doing the job efficiently. We will definitely be recommending! Thanks guys!

Tree Company four times now and they are consistently great. This time they shaped our pear tree beautifully and took down another tree out back. Dakota listens carefully and does exactly what you want. Professional, reliable, and easy to work with. Highly recommend them
