Don Gardner is the man.

I had him come out for an initial inspection a couple weeks ago and he did an excellent job with the initial report.

As I was nearing the close of the home, I started getting worried about the purchase because some contractors told me that there were some serious issues to the foundation of the home.

I started to get cold feet and did not know what to do. I felt like I couldn’t trust anyone. I didn’t know who was telling the truth.

Don totally understood where I was coming from and agreed to come back out and walked around the property with me again. I pointed out all the things that the contractor had told me was a big issue. He was able to speak directly to my concerns and ultimately gave me the confidence to move forward with the sale.

I realized for the first time how difficult it is to trust people during the process of purchasing a home. Don is an expert in what he does and is someone you can trust!

What a great experience working with Don during my recent home purchase. My realtor called Don on Sunday night to setup a short-notice inspection because I was heading out of town. Don was at the house first thing on Monday morning to complete the inspection.

Don invited me to follow him around the property as he conducted the insepection so he could point out items of note, offer suggestions for making fixes (time involved and potential cost), and ask questions as they came up. This was an extremely valuable method to conduct the inspection because it allowed me to address items as they came up.

I was very impressed with Don's thoroughness. He is also very personable and made me feel like there were no dumb questions. I would absolutely use Don and Home Inspection Experts for my next home purchase and give him my highest recommendation for those of you looking for a home inspector.

I would highly recommend Don for a home inspection. He is extremely knowledgeable and was able to clearly indicate where we should focus our attention versus the more cosmetic issues that come with a 65 year-old home. Given the complexity of the property and condition of the home, it was difficult to quantify the severity of the issues we were facing. Don was able to help us understand the magnitude of work necessary to meet our needs and also provide recommendations in terms of needed repairs. We had kicked around the idea of skipping the inspection, knowing the home was being sold "as-is", but after spending the morning with Don inspecting the property, I feel it was likely the best investment we could have made prior to finalizing the purchase!

Don Gardner has a deep background in the building industry and is just the person I needed to inspect my 1941 North Tacoma purchase. He is super thorough and found some very important issues we are now addressing. He is also very attuned to how things work, he discovered a well designed drainage system terminating at a catch basin on the side of the home, and it is important that we know how that comes together in order to maintain the property. Don is not an alarmist, but very pragmatic focusing on the most important issues and educating us on the rest (for the future "honey do" list.)
