Last August we had a great experience with Derek, so when we moved to Redmond this August, we had him come out to see a lot of work that needed to be done.

He set a date and time to come do the work. Never showed and never called. When I tried calling the office there was no answer and no response to the voice message I left. Even called his cell directly but he didn't answer.

Used my wife's cell phone and his wife answered and said he would get back to me that afternoon. That was three weeks ago and we've heard nothing. And now no one answers on either of our cell phones.

I didn't want to believe the others who have shared similar stories but I do now.

Very dissapointing.

Derek and Monica have been great. Derek has worked on a couple different projects for me. Always been on-time, communicative, efficient, and willing to explain and help educate me on his work.

I can not say enough about this company and more specifically about Derrick Salazar. This was not an easy problem. Derrick came to my house and went after it. I am not an easy customer. He worked diligently and effectively until he was able to solve the problem at the source. He is professional, and most importantly skilled. If and when I remodel, I know who my electrician will be. Trust is everything to me. I trust this company, and particularly this individual. Thank you Derrick!

Found Green Concepts on Yelp. They were the cheapest quote by about $75 for installing a Tesla charger and were extremely organized and responsive.. Had availability the next day and took Derek about 2 hours to do the install. He even spent time to show me how to use my generator which came with the house. Highly recommended.

Incredibly nice people. I had a problem and needed some help locating the source of the problem. When I called I was scheduled in fairly quickly and when Derek came out he was prompt and polite. He investigated the problem and actually located the source relatively quickly. He was very nice and helpful. The price was reasonable. I would definitely use Green Concepts for all of my electrical needs.

I should have paid closer attention to the negative reviews on Google and Yelp. One of my neighbors had recommended this company for an outlet installation, so I went ahead and setup an appointment for yesterday morning, even though I saw the many “ghosting” reviews. Owner/electrician Derek never bothered showing up. I sent several texts and called him several times, but received absolutely no response. I wasted my time yesterday as well as the last month since the appointment was made close to a month ago and I could’ve found another electrician in the meantime.

The only positive was the scheduling coordinator/assistant Monica. She was cordial and responsive through her e-mails, but she doesn’t make up for the lack of professionalism of the owner. I would stay away from this company if you value your time.

I had a great experience working with Derek from Green Concepts, and would highly recommend him to others looking for a kind, honest, timely, and extremely capable electrician.

TL;DR:
Derek showed up on time and communicated well. He was a great partner in that he helped advise us on the options that were the best fit for us, without trying to oversell us, and without using complicated language to confuse us (which unfortunately many contractors do). He really understood our needs and delivered exactly what we were looking for in a quick, concise, and clean way. We will definitely hire him for future projects, and I would recommend that you hire him too. He also takes credit cards, which is a huge plus!

ESTIMATE:
Derek showed up within his estimated time window for my estimate, and even sent me a text with his ETA when he was on his way. I appreciated this as I was managing several other contractors that day so having realtime updates on when he could come by helped me plan out the afternoon. He listened carefully as we walked him through the house and gave good advice on how to solve the problems we had.

WORK:
Overall, we had him:
- Add 6 recess lights to an upstairs room with very tall ceilings
- Add 6 recess lights to a downstairs room with regular ceilings
- Add a central ceiling light to 2 bedrooms with no built-in lighting
- Remove a very sketchy self-done lighting arrangement in the kitchen that the previous owner had run, which resulted in more than one exposed hot wire
- Tidy up the electrics of a wall area that was patched

Derek was able to accommodate our busy schedules and the fact that we weren't living in the home at the time. He worked around my availability and came to me to pick up my key, and then drop it off again at the end. He did the work in the house in the time quoted, and cleaned up after himself at the end. He even left us the drywall plugs from where he had to cut into the wall to run wiring, so it was very easy to repair the wall, and now we can't even tell that work was ever done!

Derek's honesty was really apparent as well. We had discussed our lighting needs in the upstairs room with the tall ceiling and had originally decided to go with 4. During the install, he discovered that the 4 wouldn't be enough due to the angle of the ceiling and a beam. He spent a lot of time running all the possible options, and then called us, carefully explaining the pros and cons of the 4 lights, versus his new recommendation of 6 lights. It didn't feel like an upsell at all, but instead like he really took the time to think about the purpose of the lights in the space, and what exactly we were looking for. We ended up taking his suggestion, and the 6 lights are perfect!

Derek is also a very well put together contractor. During the renovation process of our home I met with many contractors in a variety of different fields, and Derek was definitely the most professional in mannerisms and appearance. He showed up dressed well, wasn't boisterous or obnoxious, and calmly listened to us while we talked through our goals for the home.

Green Concepts is our go to electrician for Kirkland, Redmond, Bellevue, Seattle and beyond. Great pricing on electrical panel swaps, whole house rewiring, and fixture updating. It's critical to have your electrical work done right and Derek and Monica make a great team ensuring the jobs always get done.

Derek and team were so great to work with. Bid was very competitive and work done on 200A panel replacement with a few new breakers for new runs was done very quickly! Comms were super crisp and Derek was very flexible around working around some logistics challenges that cropped up. Would happily seek them out the next time I'm doing any major electrical work.

We contracted with Green Concepts LLC for a panel replacement and upgrade. They also included a installation of a generator plug as a Winter special at no extra cost.
Their work bid was very competitive, complete and honest. There was no attempt to sell something extra, nor were there any hidden / extra charges as was the case with some of the other bids.
Monica did the scheduling and handled all the billing, permits and inspection scheduling. This was done in a professional, complete and timely manner. Monica was very easy to deal with via e-mail or phone.
The work was scheduled within a reasonable and accommodating time. Work was completed as scheduled and passed inspection with a recommendation of “very well done”.
Derek was very professional, through and complete. He took the time to answer questions, make recommendation and give advice. Watching Derek work it was obvious he was not only a Master Electrician but a Master Craftsman as well. His first priority was customer satisfaction and pride in his work rather than high turnover and profit.
This is a local firm committed to the improvement of the community and the “Green” concept.

The most professional company I’ve ever worked with. Monica and Derek were quick and straight to the point. My house has been having wiring issues for the past 2 years and electrician after electrician couldn’t fix it.
