Adam came out to repair floorboards that were creaking and did an outstanding job. The first time he came out he repaired all the obvious ones and the second time was to fix the walls shifting from walking near them. I didn't think he could fix those but he did. Also he fixed the creaking in my hardwood floors. Overall he did an outstanding job and I am really happy with how much it cost too.

Adam Lake ended up building a 508SF cedar deck for my family and I around our pool. He is very talented and the deck turned out better than we could ever imagine. We even changed the design up on him a couple times, threw him a couple curve balls. and he was more than willing to make sure that we were getting what we wanted. We have hired Adam Lake of Lake's General Contracting on two occasions. The first project was to repair two chimney stacks which had rotten wood and were leaking (before and after photos below); the second project was to cut, miter and install new interior trim board around a newly-installed skylight, which required working at a height while inside the narrow skylight well. Adam showed up at the time specified, the work was done professionally, communication was excellent, pricing was very reasonable and he was very easy to work with. We would call him again for other projects and can recommend his services without reservation.

Adam and Tina were really easy to work with. My toilet stopped working on a Sunday morning. It was probably a fix I could have done, but I wimped out when it came to turning off the plastic pull-on, push-in water valve. So, even though Tina and Adam assured me I could do it, I chose to have Adam come out and do it for me. He arrived with the parts in hand and fixed it within about 10 minutes. They are very responsive and helpful. I will be calling them again for any future repair issues.

I am so happy I found Lakes General Contracting. The whole process was great. Adam was responsive to my emails and texts. Came out quickly to see the house. Got me an estimate for the work needed quicker then 5 other contractors, and didn't pressure me. We had 6 projects done and the price was phenomenal even with an unexpected discovery. It only took 5 days to almost complete, but my shower door was too large so I'll have another visit coming up to put the door on. All and all the work was quality, the price was fair, and the service was wonderful. I'm a very happy customer that will only use Lakes in the future!

I purchased a somewhat large outdoor catio that needed to be assembled and installed outside a second story window in my home, something I could never do on my own.
I was thrilled when Adam suggested that he would be able to do it in approximately 3 hours at $80.00 per hour, even though that seemed unlikely, having had a lot of experience in putting things together.
Anyway, 7 hours later it got done. And, unarguably, it is perfect.
My issue here is time management and that a proper understanding of how long jobs realistically take to complete were somehow underestimated.
My suggestion would only be that the move from charging an hourly rate to calculating a “per job” rate be considered. I honestly feel that Adam’s time would be utilized more efficiently and customers might feel more comfortable with an otherwise very confusing situation.
