Hoa hired them to do landscaping for us. I am not impressed. They always seem to be standing around and not doing a good job.

Josh at Mint is very responsive and friendly. As the manager for several HOAs in the Lacey/Olympia/Tumwater area, I can say that his approach is second to none. I've never had to wait more than a day or two for a response, and he is always willing to do everything possible (even going outside the scope of the contract) to provide the best service.

I take online reviews with a large grain of salt, but I can assure you – this one’s for real!

I started with a couple of areas of my yard that had problems due to excessive shade to grow grass, natural vegetation that had gotten out of control, and landscaping features installed by a previous owner that had proven to be basically worthless.

I contacted three Olympia-based landscaping companies to provide bids because I wanted to use a local business, if possible. One did not return my call. Of the two that did, Mint Landscaping was the one I chose for SO many reasons, the first of which was a glowing review on their website, which I took with a large grain of salt. But, I felt an immediate connection with Josh. During our initial meeting I could already tell that his values and those of his company were complementary to mine. He listened to what I told him, and, because I didn’t know exactly what I wanted, put me in touch with his designer, Maru. I had the same sense of connection with her from our first meeting. We had several consultations, and between them, they created a design that met all my needs, and then some. Maru is incredibly talented, and her designs are not only clear and very artistically drawn – by hand, I might add - but she provides a “before/after” view that is very helpful. Throughout our design process, both she and Josh continually gave me options for more or less, and the ability to divide my project into affordable phases, etc., depending on, and willing to work within, my budget.

Once the project started, Hayden, Junior, Jeff, and others that I didn’t meet or whose names I forget, were professional and thorough throughout. They showed up when they said they would, and kept us informed every step of the way. Josh and Maru were on sight many times to make sure that things were marked and that their plans were being executed properly. It’s very clear to me that Mint has chosen its employees wisely. The attention to detail by everyone was truly amazing!

It’s hard for me to find the words I want to use to describe the landscaping process I just went through. It was pleasant, painless, exciting, and surprising, actually. The plans on paper were impressive, but the finished product is awesome!

I can’t recommend Josh and his Mint Landscaping team enough. Truly – you will NEVER find a better company to work with for your landscaping needs, big or small.

Where to start. Trying to get a landscaping company out to our house was painful at first, but once I stumbled upon Mint Landscape it was pure gold from the start. We have never been the type of people to enjoy yard work. It's always felt like a daunting task that we only had enough energy to commit to every once in a while. Now, thanks to everyone at Mint who played a part in our landscaping project (large patio, multiple paver pathways and flower beds and an extensive gravel parking strip), that has all changed. We take pride in our yard and enjoy maintaining the beautiful work that was done. It is beautiful, yet simple and receives compliments from everyone who sees it. The project was completed thoroughly with no detail left unattended. With rain, snow and a backyard wedding to take into consideration, everyone made sure the project was done efficiently and timely. My husband and I recently moved to a new home. Not just any home, but the home that was once my moms and where I grew up. My mom passed away last year and I now own her home. She had a green thumb, I do not. I wanted to bring the yard back to life and also minimize future upkeep. I was in touch with another local landscaper to do the work, but never received a call back. I am all about reviews, so I read reviews on every site I could find, everything I read about Mint Landscapes was amazing. Josh came out to do a bid and within a few weeks the crew was out to start the project. A huge undertaking, in my opinion. We had the entire front yard ripped out, leveled, and sod laid. All flower beds weeded and mulched. The entire lower half of our yard is now gravel, with a gravel path on the left hand side. AND a gorgeous retaining wall. OH and everything was pruned. :) I am a perfectionist and it was super important to me that great care be taken when working in my moms yard, I couldn't have handed that responsibility over to just any company. I felt 100% comfortable with Marilyn and Josh's crew being at my house and updating the yard. They did an AMAZING JOB! Their crew kind, super knowledgeable, and hard working! Josh and Jeff even moved our swing for us on the last day. Because their awesome like that! :) I definitely recommend Mint Landscapes and will absolutely be using them again!! Mint, (Josh and team) were extremely responsive and helpful during the design phase. Their expert designer provided plans that matched our desires with the limitations of the yard. The attention to detail, job expertise, and professionalism were a joy to work with. I would (and have) recommend(ed) this company to all friends and family.

We really like this company. Use them for irrigation services, aeration, and most recently, a complete flower bed landscape redesign on our lot. The team is amazing to work with, attentive to detail and safety, and ensured their work was accurate to the design throughout the project. The landscape consultant ensured our needs and preferences were heard, including recommending plants that will alternate color though all seasons. I am very happy with Mint Landscape.

We are so happy that we chose Mint Landscapes for our lawn project. I contacted them through their website and heard back immediately to set up a time for the proposal. Josh came out quickly and gave us suggestions for how we could repair our lawn while also adding in some landscaping. He broke the proposal down so that we could pick and choose what exactly we wanted to have done.
Josh was able to get us on the schedule quickly, and our project took about four days to complete. The two gentleman that came to work were AMAZING! They were so friendly, knowledgable, and did high quality work. I was able to ask them questions as needed.
As far as the work that was done, I am impressed at the transformation of our yard!

I have a recently completed a backyard makeover with Mint Landscapes. Honestly there are not enough positive words to describe my experience with Josh and his crew, and the final result.

My project involved removal of grass, groundcover, transplanting a tree and bushes, and dealing with drainage issues that had become obnoxious pools of mud and stagnant water. Josh and I worked together to arrive at a design that would not only meet my needs, but also be quite beautiful.

Throughout the project Josh stayed in daily contact with me to make certain I was happy and make alterations as needed. An excellent example of this was something as simple as the type of mulch to use. Because I have big dogs, the original mulch I wanted wasn't going to hold up well or stay clean with big dogs running around. I had never thought there might be other options! Josh suggested a small nugget mulch that actually stays in place very well, and won't break down as quickly. It's also beautiful.

Josh's team are amazing professionals who were consistently considerate, on time, and left my yard clean every day. They also made sure the gate was closed when they left for lunch and at the end of the day. This was much appreciated for the safety of my dogs.

My backyard is now a beautiful, calm, and lovely place to spend time. The final cost of the project was to the penny what the estimated cost was projected. There were no hidden costs or substitution of less expensive plants that other landscapers try to sneak through. In fact little things like removing weeds and leveling platforms for my garden hose rack were just done out of consideration. I highly recommend Mint Landscapes for any project. I will continue using Mint Landscapes for my yard's annual maintenance.

Josh and the guys from Mint were great to work with! Anytime we had a question, they were happy to answer and came across as extremely knowledgeable. They are professional and pleasant. I met with Josh not long ago to have an estimate on reviving our backyard. Josh was friendly and incredibly knowledgeable right off the bat. He measured my yard, took soil samples and I felt like he really listened when we discussed my needs, which was a vast improvement over the estimate I had gotten previously from a larger local company. When the estimate came in, we felt that the cost was very fair for the work that needs to be done.

While Josh was here and we were talking, he asked me if I had heard of Project Evergreen. I hadn't, and he explained that it's a program where volunteers care for the lawns of deployed service members and disabled veterans. We are an Army family and I was touched by this organization. My husband is away quite a bit and when Josh learned this, he told me that Mint Landscapes would be taking care of my yard for the next few months. I was flabbergasted! His crew has come twice now and they are quick, courteous and incredibly professional. Mowing the lawn can seem like such a menial task, but when you've got two little kids and a spouse who isn't home...it's a weight off of my shoulders and a huge help. The team at Mint are truly blessings and I'm beyond grateful for their generosity. I look forward to continuing to use them for our lawn and landscape needs!!
