Reviews of local pros in Newcastle, Washington

You can expect professionals with DR Construction. We've worked with many other contractors, and this is one we always go back to because they are easy to work with. Duncan is down to earth, honest, and delivers quality on schedule. So many contractors miss one of these things.

DR installed 2 windows that match exactly like the other windows from scratch. They found the matching millwork, put up a plastic barrier to prevent dust from spreading, took on the cost of an unexpected electrical job, did the cutting, frame bracing, and siding too and all within 2 days!!! DR also replaced some wood rot we had with our front deck. They can do it all!

Highly recommended. Next job we know who to stick with!

DR Construction did a complete kitchen remodel for us and it looks amazing! My biggest concern with doing a full kitchen renovation was finding a contractor that I could trust to show up, complete the job on time and do quality work. When I reached out to Duncan he responded right away and after meeting him I could tell he was professional, honest and trustworthy. The entire team is professional, talented and easy to work with. Kim is a great project manager and communicator. She always kept us informed throughout the entire process so we knew exactly what to expect. She pays attention to the details so nothing gets missed. I would highly recommend DR Construction.

I've hired DR Construction for multiple jobs at two properties over the years and have always had a very positive experience. The last job was interior and exterior work on a 1907 house including a complete front porch rebuild that looks fantastic (click on pic below). Definitely give them a call.

DR Construction was a terrific company to work with on the reconstruction of our home after a tree demolished our Livingroom, deck, shed and garage.

I'm very impressed with DR Construction. After having a huge tree destroy our livingroom, deck and garage, I'm thankful to have had their outstanding construction company give us such beautiful results. Duncan, Kim, Mike, and Angel were very knowledgeable and worked well together, and with the subcontractors. They listened to us. Communication with each other and with us was very good. The quality of their work was exceptional. I highly recommend them.

If you're looking for a skilled, trustworthy general contractor, Duncan is your guy. I could go on for days about how incredible my experience was with DRC. We had our kitchen remodeled, and it was a fairly big project. We had a load-bearing wall taken out to open it up to the living space on the other side. I went in with so much anxiety and fear. I'd heard so many horror stories about others' experiences with home remodels. I was entering completely foreign territory, and I didn't have a solid plan. I had a lot of ideas that really needed to be ironed out, and Duncan and his team had me feeling like I had experienced friends on my side who were excited to help me. They were very flexible and accommodating and just made me feel safe. I have 2 young children who I stay home with, and we were around A LOT during construction. My 2 year-old wanted only to be in their space working alongside them. They were not only patient with his interference, but they actually seemed delighted to indulge in his curiosity. OK so as for the actual work they did, it's flawless. Through each step, Duncan came through my home like it was his own, inspecting every inch for flaws or imperfections. He is excited and passionate about his work and made me feel like my kitchen was his favorite project. If you don't know where to start with your home project, start with calling DRC. I already miss them and want them to come back and do every room in my house then come back again for Thanksgiving.

Duncan and his crew are the most professional and skilled people I have ever worked with involving construction projects. He did a major remodel on our kitchen and dining area that turned out fantastic. His pricing is fair and transparent. Because of the prior experience, I had him come out and
remodel our POS deck. Again, it's amazing and it is my favorite area of the house! Thanks Duncan.

DR Construction recently finished a major kitchen remodel for us and we love the results! Duncan and his crew are very professional, experienced, timely, and creative. We highly, highly recommend them if you are considering a remodel of any kind. A big “thank you” to you, Duncan, and your team.

DR built a beautiful trailer port attached to our house for our Airstream that turned out SO great! We constantly receive compliments as people walk by. Duncan and his crew were very patient with us throughout the whole process, as we changed our minds several times throughout the project. I’d use DR Construction in a heartbeat if I had another project to do. Great company!

We couldn't be more impressed with DR construction. Duncan and his team made this project so easy with their attention to detail and collaborative work style.

We had some rough ideas, which really came out well with the teams guidance throughout the process.

This was our first project with them, it definitely won't be our last!

Highly reccomend.

DR Construction(Duncan) was the GC for my recent remodel. He did a complete exterior siding replacement and repaint, built a custom exterior staircase with planters, replaced deck railing, fixed rot/structural issues, interior electrical, gutters, garage doors, exterior doors, etc. The project was intimidating, and so was hiring a GC, but I can safely say that I made a good decision. Throughout the project Duncan consistently delivered quality work with a high attention to detail. He was willing to take on custom requests, and was always fair in handling the unexpected things that come up in any major remodel. The project was completed on time, and throughout the process he kept the work site busy. We were never stuck "waiting on a sub." Duncan is a very strong communicator, and he DEEPLY cares about customer satisfaction and what that satisfaction says about his brand. I will not hesitate to hire him again for my next project.

Duncan and his crew are the most competent group of professionals anyone could ever hope for. Any single member of this team could carry an entire construction crew on their own, but together they are simply magic. Skilled and experienced beyond expectation, I don't think there was a single "impossible" problem with our project that could stand up to the A-Team Duncan has assembled. And you can tell that Duncan respects the people he works with and treats them well; I've never met a crew that works so well together, even the subcontractors seemed excited to be a part of the team.

Our home is a split level craftsman, built by a Boeing engineer in the 50s and damaged by fire in 2020. Because of the fire, all the work we had done was permitted and inspected, which means that everything the crew touched had to be brought up to modern standards despite having been built by an aerospace engineer 70 years ago. I don't think most contractors would have touched our project with a 10 foot pole. But Duncan, our foreman Mike, and the rest of the team were such consummate professionals that the few minor issues that came up were all resolved quickly, with barely any delay to the rest of the project. Genuine, quality work, too, without a single sketchy compromise or quirky short cut. The kind of beautiful, elegant solutions you only seem to find in old-school craftsmanship anymore. An honestly unbelievable team of amazing individuals with a shared depth of institutional knowledge and experience that allow them to make the impossible possible. And flexible enough to make it all happen on our budget, which is frankly as impressive as the craftsmanship.

A huge shout-out to Mike, Phil, Angel, Arron, Brett and the rest of the team, especially Kim at the home office for all her efforts coordinating, sourcing materials, scheduling, and keeping everything on track. Our project could easily have spiraled out and ballooned in cost, but Duncan's incredible team kept the entire project running smoothly. I can't imagine working with anyone else and I'm very much looking forward to continuing to work with DR Construction in the future.

I want to express my absolute satisfaction with everyone at D.R. Construction! From the very beginning Duncan was professional and punctual. He was committed to helping me build my dream primary suite and bathroom within my budget and did not disappoint. The crew, Angel, Chris and Mike always showed up on time with a smile. These guys put in a serious days work with beautiful craftsmanship. They were knowledgeable for the big projects and paid close attention to the smallest details. I am very appreciative that Duncan also has such awesome subcontractors for the tile, electrical and plumbing. There was always quick and clear communication between everyone. Being confident that everything is done right is priceless. This whole project was finished on time and in budget with little to no issues. I would confidently 100% recommend D.R.Construction and we definitely plan on using them for any of our future home projects! Jessica

Very responsive and reliable team. I’d definitely recommend to my friends

I recently had an EV charger installed at my home, and the entire experience was excellent. The installation team was professional, efficient, and ensured everything was completed safely and correctly.

What really stood out was that they also helped me apply for the rebate program.

Overall, I’m extremely satisfied with both the installation and the customer service. I would highly recommend them to anyone considering installing a home EV charger.

Excellent service and fair price with mail-in rebate

I had a great experience with Harmony Electric LLC from start to finish. Their communication was smooth and consistent, making the whole process stress-free and easy to understand. They really paid attention to the details and made sure everything was done right the first time.

What stood out most was how they listened to my needs and worked with me to find the best solutions, rather than pushing anything unnecessary. On top of that, their pricing was fair and transparent, which I really appreciated.

Highly recommend Harmony Electric LLC if you’re looking for reliable, professional, and customer-focused service!

We had two EV chargers installed at our home and the experience was excellent from start to finish. The team was very professional, knowledgeable, and polite throughout the whole process. They explained everything clearly, completed the work efficiently, and made sure everything was working perfectly before leaving.

The installation looks very clean and high quality, and we really appreciate their attention to detail. It’s not easy to find electricians who are both skilled and pleasant to work with, but this company truly delivered.

Highly recommend to anyone who needs EV charger installation or any electrical work. I would definitely use them again.

I had an excellent experience working with the electrician and would highly recommend them to anyone in need of electrical services.

From the very beginning, scheduling and communication were effortless. They were responsive, easy to reach, and flexible with timing, a rare find in the trades. Their pricing was very competitive compared to other quotes I received, and there were no surprise charges or hidden fees. What really stood out, however, was their help navigating the utility rebate process. They were knowledgeable about available rebates, handled much of the paperwork on my behalf, and made sure I didn't leave money on the table something I truly appreciated.

Overall, this was a stress-free, great-value experience from start to finish. If you're looking for a reliable, skilled, and customer-focused electrician, look no further. I'll definitely be calling them again for any future electrical needs.

I had a great experience with this electrician installing my EV charger. The whole process was quick and smooth, and the installation quality is excellent. They also took care of the permit application and even helped me get the permit fee waived, so I didn’t have to worry about anything. Highly recommend!
