I hired LJ and crew to provide services that my partner and I knew would be too difficult for us. As a retired landscape designer I’m picky but LJ guided her crew to move a large boulder; assemble and install a pipe arbor to train trees on (per my design); situate a prebuilt raised bed, fill it and plant some large plants in it; install some steel edging; and assorted other garden tasks. All was completed in less than 8 hours. We are delighted to have found her! She was a gem to work with and I highly recommend her!

Cultivating Kindness expanded & redesigned several garden beds for us. LJ helped us figure out how to tie together our existing landscape design and gave us great advice and suggestions on plant care. LJ, Jason & Logan worked hard and paid close attention to detail. They were considerate and did the job in a professional & timely manner. We are pleased with the results!

Had a delightful visit yesterday with the owner of this cool landscape supplier and design services with such a great heart

No call, no show to design appointment. When I called 15 minutes later to inquire about a confirmation for the appointment, she seemed confused and I was told that they didn't know where the design person was, but that she must be on her way. They called back an hour later to say it was a "double booking".

I enjoy having a nursery in Tumwater....the plants are beautiful and hearty! The best quality I had in some time...they came back this season looking healthy, went back for more!

LJ did an amazing job creating a backyard haven for us that has given us so much joy. Her love for creating beautiful spaces was felt in this project!

LJ has done my hedges around my house every year and several other projects over the 4+ years I have owned my home. She & her staff are efficient and do a great job of clean up. The one time an employee messed up a fencing job LJ took responsibility and fixed it herself. Very ethical and a good business person.

I would highly recommend Cultivating Kindness Landscape and Design! LJ the owner came out to our home and helped us create a new yard and garden spaces! She took out many scrubs, small trees, and moved many plants to our English Garden! She moved lots of soil to our other garden areas!
She transformed our garden spaces near the sides of our home! She saved all our indigenous ferns! She added soil to the ferns so thy will grow properly! She covered the areas around the ferns with fabric, gravel, soil, and river rocks! Then she sprayed the river rock with a spray so the rocks look wet! The side yards are so spectacular!
Our other gardens got more soil and the plants were spread out so they could grow healthy and not get all tangled up together! Our English Garden looks fantastic! Our roses are doing well and are so healthy now!

Lovely place ran by a hard working and caring owner. LJ keeps the space welcoming with lovely plants but the nursery is designed to bring in clients for landscaping. LJs true passion is transforming spaces and making welcoming landscapes. Check it out.

So I walked in to our local nursery with my poor cactus, (root bound & under-watered), to see about having the thing transplanted into a bigger pot (even I can figure out that a pot should be able to hold up the plant within it). Turns out the nursery and landscaping company hasn’t officially expanded to “plant diagnostics” yet. Luckily for me LJ is a super cool plant lady and while she explained that what I was asking for wasn’t currently in their list of provided services also talked about what steps I should take to help my cactus and let me at one of the soil mounds ‘round back.
Hopefully I won’t need their services again for a while but when I do, I’m glad there’s a local talent I’ll be returning to.

Just visited this nursery looking for some plants for a planter in my back yard and met LJ. She was so helpful and kind and helped us pick out plants. I came home and planted them and I am so happy with the results. I will definitely going back to get more plants for my yard. 😊

LJ was wonderful to work with yesterday! She went above and beyond for a “small potatoes” customer - me - who just wanted to buy my first couple of house plants - she gave me a full beginners course on house plants, showing me how to re-pot, feed and water them, and made sure I was equipped with enough knowledge to give my beautiful snake plant a shot! I am so in love with my new botanical addition to the family, and am looking toward to coming back for more. Thanks Cultivating Kindness! You made my day yesterday :)

Stopped in to check it out and got a chance to speak to the owner LJ. Such a pleasure, a kind person who cares about what they do and the impact it leaves on others. Plants were well cared for and beautiful. Got a lovely hydrangea, and will definitely return.

LJ has been awesome to work with and the work has been outstanding. I had a vague idea of what I wanted and she was able to turn my ramblings into reality. I love this woman-owned and operated landscape design and nursery business. The owner, L.J. Is extremely knowledgeable about plants/shrubs/trees and her expending nursery showcases some beautiful specimens. In addition to garden design and landscaping, she offers garden consultations at your home ($125 for an hour) and in an hour solved three persistent problems that have been plaguing my garden for 15 years and provided me detailed notes as well. Well worth the investment.
