Home Services reviews in Poulsbo, Washington

Amazing quality plants in a wide variety, and I've never had issues with bugs when I bring them home (unlike Lowes or Home Depot). The staff is super friendly and helpful! I've gotten lots of advice from them on where/when/how to plant my new plants in order to achieve the best results. Their tools, pots, and "accessories" tend to be spendy though (only reason why I'm not giving 5 stars), so that's when I would make the extra stop to Lowes or Home Depot for the best value.

Oh, I love this place. The selection of plants is wide and enticing. Staff is friendly and knowledgable. The custom container designer is very talented!! Lots of great gifts also. Nice shop, great nursery!

I am gay and have spent thousands of dollars at Valley Nursery over the years. Owner, Brad Watts, in his letter to the Mayor, expressed concerns about alienating the business owners and his customers. You, sir, alienated me…one of your customers. I have frequently referred friends to your nursery and found plants I haven’t been able to get anywhere else. I return every year and spend a lot of money with you. I will not spend another dime and know that it’s YOUR actions, and not the city of Poulsbo, that lost my money.

We used Valley Nursery for our wedding flowers and we're quite pleased. Kathy was easy to work with, open to all our ideas and worked hard asking questions to try to understand what we wanted for wedding flowers. We were very pleased with their prices compared to other local wedding flower providers (by nearly half)--probably in part made possible by renting some potted plants rather than purchasing them outright. She made recommendations as to what would hold up best and fit our vision. Very informal; no signed contract--just a detailed written bid and verbal agreement. They followed through with no problems.
Our bouquets, boutonnières, ceremony decor and table centerpieces were just as envisioned. The corsages and flower girl wreaths were just as described but seemed a tad generic. Kathy also made sure there was a small variety of flowers to choose from for the bride's hair and humored us by making a wreath for our dog's collar.
They stealthy came to set up and deliver flowers as well as pick up the arbor and other rented items with no problems.
Was overall very happy with their work. -
Best nursery in the area. Great plants, knowledgeable employees.

My favorite place to get trees, just planted a hicks yew!
-
Great selection of plants, indoor and out.
Some unusual plants that you might not find at other nurseries.
My only complaint. The prices seemed a bit high. But aren't they everywhere?
Spend time browsing lot's of fun stuff to discover. -
I would love to give this place a five-star review because they do have beautiful high quality plants. I've only been once before.with a friend who lives near by.
However, this morning I drove all the way over there from Sequim because I had received a sale flyer in the mail. What a zoo! After I sat in my car for half an hour trailing behind a long line of other cars winding their way fruitlessly through the parking lot looking for a place to park, I just left at the first opportunity without even bothering to shop. Here's a hint: the next time you have a sale and take the trouble to mail sale flyers over 3 counties, think about renting space somewhere nearby for the weekend and running a shuttle back and forth for your customers. Waste of time and fuel. 👎 -
This nursery has a large selection of plants. There are lots of beautiful arrangements showing how one might create garden displays at home. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. One star off because of the high prices.

I love this nursery, tons of outdoor plants. I only buy indoor house plants and they have a really nice selection that often changes. It can be a tad bit on the pricer side, but I’ve never had any issues with pests and they are all very healthy.

I love this place. I usually plan at least an hour for this trip, they have everything and anything you could want for landscaping/gardening. I end up wandering and learning so much each time. You'll pay a little more, but the product is far superior to plants and supplies you'll get at big box stores' gardening departments.

Helpful and knowledgable staff, and a very wide selection of all types of plants. So glad we found this gem!

Upscale nursery with knowledgeable staff who are readily available and the place looks absolutely amazing! There is quite the selection of plants, trees, and yard accessories.

Always reliable and healthy plants, and today mason bees. Superb customer service.
April 2020- Justin, thanks for bringing the nursery back online in the amidst the craziness of Covid-19. It's felt good to be shopping again my favorite PNW nursery.
You and your staff are doing a great job of raising the customer service bar and tending to the needs of plant and gardenolics. -
Huge selection of plants not found at chain stores. Very nice and helpful staff. some items are overpriced but most are reasonably priced.

Late season visit, this nursery was still packed with great plants!

I swear I just stopped by to check out the peach trees, yet somehow I still came back with a box of new plant friends (as usual!), this time in the theme of purple. Fantastic place to wander around and see what catches your eye.

I agree with Meg. New owners same stance as the old ones.
"With deep disappointment Poulsbo for All is announcing that Valley Nursery has decided not to support Pride in Poulsbo this year. We’ve been in direct discussion with Valley’s new owner, Justin Robbins, son-in-law of former owner Brad Watts (who pitched a 5 alarm fit two years ago when the City of Poulsbo formally recognized Pride for the first time).
Justin reached out about their damaged community relations and we saw a chance to start a fresh chapter. We even cautiously hoped we could kick off Pride with a reconciliation that so many have longed for over the past two years.
Justin says, however, that while he’s of a different mind than the former owner and would like to find ways to back the LGBTQ community, he will not make a public statement of support. Given the ever-growing political cruelties targeting not just queer people, but BIPOC, immigrants, the disabled, the poor, seniors, veterans, women, and non-“Christians”, it’s critical for allies to be loud and proud with their support. Closet allyship is NOT allyship.
As we stood with Justin last week, deep in conversation in the middle of the nursery, it was impossible not to see the phenomenal diversity of plants surrounding us. That’s the beauty of Nature! Wanting everything one way, one color, one flavor is what’s unnatural. "
Don’t forget - Veronica and Sean (Olmsted’s Nursery) are always there with open arms and a booming business! 🌱🌈 -
Bought a weeping Katsura here. Great nursery to go to and relax. Lots to look at. I love their choices of indoor plants.

So many beautiful plants ! Excellent helpers, so nice

If you live in Jefferson or Clallam County, THIS is the nursery to drive to. The variety is wide. The health of the plants is always superior. The icing on the cake is the availability of master gardeners to answer technical questions.
