Constraction reviews in Redmond, Washington

While trying to arrange a bathroom remodel with another company, I was met with delays, excuses, and missed appointments. Tub Cove came to the rescue and kindly and efficiently handled the remodel, restoring my faith in construction companies in the Seattle area. Questions or concerns were promptly addressed with courtesy and responsive expertise. The crews were very pleasant, knowledgeable, and diligent. I would recommend this company without reservation.

I highly recommend Tub Cove, and the great team I worked with, especially Jim and Jeremiah. Tub Cove resolved a cracked shower pan issue in our shower. A previous contractor had neglected to add a solid foundation under the old shower pan, and Tub Cove remedied this (aka saved the day!) The full experience was about 3 weeks from meet and greet to completion. Very speedy! They were very forthcoming with costs from best to worst case scenarios. As well our final bill was precisely as discussed. The final product is perfect and met if not exceeded my expectations. The crew working on my project was polite, professional, and good about communicating as their work progressed. Thank you Tub Cove!

Tub Cove is the best remodeling contractor I have employed over the past 30 years of home ownership. Unlike most other places with a single (or couple) of "jack(s) of all trades," Tub Cove has a qualified staff of separate specialists for tasks requiring unique skills such as the laying of tile, plumbing, electrical, and installation of vanities, tubs, and shower stalls. To ensure continuity of knowledge and learning, each specialist is typically accompanied by an apprentice. Special thanks to the technicians (alphabetical order) Alex, Alexander, Andrej, Austin, Chris, Jeff, John, Jose, Riley, and Vassily. And also to the office staff Ben, Jen, Jeremiah, and Michelle. I am forgetting one more, sorry! Jim, the owner, is always available and, unprompted, frequently checks in on progress and customer satisfaction.
Tub Cove remodeled the three bathrooms in my 63 year-old house over the course of four months of painstaking and thorough planning, measurement, preparation, estimating, ordering of materials, and installation sequenced so that we always had the use of one bathroom.
Teardown is the most dreaded part of remodeling of old homes because most contractors throw up their hands and claim expensive add-ons for new building codes and unexpected surprises. Well, the age of the house was the first question Jim asked when we first met so his team seemed primed and ready for these changes and adjusted their workflow accordingly without increasing the cost of the initial contract we signed with them.
As expected, this old house threw up numerous surprises especially in the realm of plumbing. The biggest surprise was discovering that our old vinyl/fibreglass shower stall had actually been installed to deform around a vent pipe that was not flush with the drywall. TubCove came up with an ingenious solution involving building up the wall and moving the shower drain to accommodate the new marble shower pan and marble stall walls. Another example is the original sink in one bathroom having to be raised so that its pedestal could fit under it; understandable because we replaced the old vinyl floors with tile which is thicker, of course.
I could give more examples, but these should suffice. What are you waiting for? Just go with Tub Cove. You won't regret it. -
From start to finish - my experience with Tub Cove was fantastic. My job included ripping out tile and dry wall around a tub and replacing it with a beautiful, single piece laminate, along with a plumbing valve update to go from two faucet handles to one and all new bath fixtures. I called to request an estimate, which was promptly scheduled within two days...and within less than a week and a half, had the full job completed. I couldn't be happier with the entire experience from start to finish and would highly recommend the folks at Tub Cove for any shower/bathtub update needs.

Would give more stars if possible. From initial contact through completion, the Tub Cove team was responsive, professional, and highly skilled. They left the work area clean both during the installation and at the end. From Kathy who walked us through the bidding process, to Jeremiah who headed up the installation team, to Alan who did the wall installation, to Jim who owns the company - all terrific people to help us through an expedited process when an elderly relative fell and broke his hip. They were able to fit us into the schedule so he could return to independent living. Communication was timely and our questions were thoroughly answered. So glad this local company is available - we used them 20+ years ago for a rental rehab and were so glad they have thrived since then. Final product was within scheduled and budget and final result exceeded our expectations. Call them!

Was dreading doing a shower remodel in the new place we bought. Hiring contractors is always a nail biting experience and the quotes are often high pressure and just obscene. Was referred to Tub Cove by a friend and had such a pleasant experience. They had great selection and are flexible when you want something different as long as they feel the items are of good quality.
The quote was reasonable and the marble was all prepared on the timeline they committed. They came in and did demolition of the old shower and found rotted wall behind that was out of the scope of what they did. They parked my stuff and waiting for me to find someone to repair walls and came back promptly when the repairs were done. Finished on time and the job looks great. The workers are all employees - not contractors and it shows. Great people, really professional and very friendly.
If you are looking for a really solid nice looking remodel on your tub/shower, give them a call. Their prices are fair, work is good and people are really really nice to deal with. -
It's not every day you come across a company that is willing to stand behind it's commitment to quality customer service. Amidst the challenges brought on by the pandemic, many businesses have struggled to retain staff and maintain their dedication to customer satisfaction. Tub Cove, however, has managed to excel on both fronts. Not only does Tub Cove boast employees who have been with the organization for 20+ years but they also have excellent managers who care a lot about the work that gets done (shout out to Brandon)! Throughout the process, I must admit, I bombarded them with a lot of questions. Yet, Jim, the owner, remained remarkably patient, providing me with all the resources and support I needed along the way.
During my process of evaluating about ten different companies for my shower remodel, Tub Cove emerged as the clear choice. Now in hindsight, I couldn't be happier about my decision. Their dedication to excellence, emphasized repeatedly by Jim, translated into a superb end product. If I ever have future remodeling needs, Tub Cove will undoubtedly be my first call. -
We needed a last minute complete shower re-do for a rental remodel that was time sensitive. From start to finish, the process with Tub Cove was smooth and easy- Jeremiah, the installation manager, was very communicative, and Alan, who installed the shower did a great job. The job was done quickly, even ahead of schedule. I was very impressed with the professionalism and service by the entire staff and highly recommend this company.

Tub Cove did an amazing job on our bathroom. They were so easy to work with. We do not live full time in our place and the made us totally comfortable having them do the work while we were away! We would absolutely use them again and highly recommend them.

The team at Tub Cove is great. Really happy with our tub-to-shower conversion. They responded quickly to my initial call, came out to do the estimate and measurements quickly, then were very flexible along the way when we changed our minds on a few things. Install was quick and well done. Great experience start to finish, I'd work with them again.

The photos below show their quality. The first one shows the faucet installed after an admitted mis-measurement of the components, followed by the statement that there was nothing they could do about it... The second shows discoloration of the caulking that has been present since installation, and the third, is the stripped screw I finally isolated as the root cause of a loose door that has been there since installation.
Frankly by the end, we were just done with them. they did eventually fix the hole they put in a wall behind the installation, but frankly not until I had to call and demand my money back. until then, they did not deem us important enough to show up and keep the appointment. I could have wasted more time with them at the time to force fixes, but we were fed up with it. The pictures show their work. if you are ok with that level of attention to detail, by all means use them. -
I wish I could recommend this company as there are some kind folks who work there. Unfortunately, the person who did our installation did not do a good job and did not clean up after the job was done. When he came out to fix the failed laminate, he apologized for not cleaning up after himself. But then when he was done, he asked me if he’d cleaned to my satisfaction — and argued with me when I pointed out the adhesive he’d dropped on the tub. He then accused “somebody” (i.e., my husband or me) of sabotaging his original work.
The work involved removing ceramic tile. Not cleaning up meant that there were shards of ceramic left throughout our bathroom, foyer, and down the hall of my building. This was a safety hazard. Since the mess followed him out to the parking lot, I had to clean after him so that it did not cause injury to my neighbors or result in me getting a fine from my homeowner’s association.
While the product itself has been fixed and looks fine, I did not appreciate having to clean up after the worker or dealing with his unprofessional interactions—especially since I’d expressed reservations about having the same person come back to repair.
I shared my concerns of the second visit and asked for consideration of my time in the final bill on 4/9/18. Shelley at TubCove agreed the behavior was unacceptable and that she would forward my concerns to the company owner in Arizona. I have yet to receive a response but will update this review should I hear back.
UPDATED: I changed my rating from 2 to 3 stars. TubCove's owner called me to apologize for the service we received from the installer. During our conversation, he said they talked with the installer who admitted to skipping "a critical step" in the installation, which resulted in the failure of the product. They refunded me $150. -
We hired Tub Cove for a bathroom remodel and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience from start to finish.
From the outset, we raised concerns about the condition of the existing floor and flagged that the subfloor would need to be properly leveled before new flooring and the bathtub were installed. Despite this, Tub Cove’s contractor declined to demo the old floor and instead installed the new flooring directly over the old linoleum, along with the new tub. This shortcut left a sizeable gap—large enough to fit a hand—between the tub and the floor.
When we pointed out how unacceptable this was, the proposed “fix” was to glue a marble strip in front of the tub so “you’d never notice.” Their own response was that photos on their website only show “perfect jobs,” which was hardly reassuring. We insisted the issue be corrected.
The workmanship throughout the project was inconsistent at best. Examples included:
Sloppy drywall mudding that had to be redone.
Gaps in trim work that were cut short and nailed in anyway.
Caulking that was messy and clearly not watertight.
The bathtub being damaged during installation that required repairs before it was even used due to demo work being done around the unprotected bathtub.
Missing tile and incorrect estimates that caused delays.
The tile work was subbed out and not done to expectations. They had to come back twice to address tile that was installed incorrectly or cracked.
We also ended up doing significant drywall prep ourselves—work that was supposed to be included in the original scope of the contract. For this we were credited some money back.
While one of their senior employees, Allen, was professional, efficient, and clearly skilled, he was brought in late in the project. If he had led the job from the start, things might have gone differently.
On the business side, we also encountered troubling practices. Tub Cove repeatedly pressed us for progress payments even though our contract clearly stated final payment was due upon completion. After we did pay in full, we learned their subcontractor (Alex) had not been paid for our job, despite the funds being in Tub Cove’s possession. This raised serious concerns about their financial management and created risk of a mechanic’s lien on our home. We had to initiate a dispute through American Express to protect ourselves and ensure the subcontractor was made whole.
Bottom line: We cannot recommend Tub Cove. The project was plagued by poor execution, shortcuts, and unprofessional handling of payments. We were advised at the outset that this work would take five days, which seemed ambitious. We expected two weeks. Instead, it took five weeks. If you are considering them, proceed with extreme caution—and insist on clear progress milestones, airtight contracts, and detailed oversight of their subcontractors. -
We first became acquainted with TubCove in 2014 when we had them replace the shower stall in our rental home. We were more than pleased! We have since had them replace 2 vanity tops and sinks in our home. Again, we are more than pleased with the materials, the workers, and the workmanship. We did not want a total bathroom remodel, and it was a great way to blend existing flooring and tiles with the new tops. Everyone was great to work with from beginning to end, and we highly recommend them!

We were at the top of our budget when our bathroom remodel started. Some unexpected problems occurred and Tub Cove went above and beyond to make it right with no additional cost. I highly recommend Tub Cove!

We contacted Tub Cove of Seattle to repair the ceiling and replace the old tub and surround in the single bathroom of our 1917 Green Lake Bungalow. We found our Estimator to be VERY knowledgeable, prompt, resourceful , and best of all , KIND (after all it is a small and very old house with few upgrades). We chose our surround & new tub, and discussed our plan for repairing the ceiling. We paid our deposit and the work was scheduled to commence with-in two weeks. The actual project required two days to complete, with demolition and prep on day one and the installation on day two. The team was quite efficient and respectful as the pandemic required us to be working from home during the renovation. I wish to thank the Office Manager for being so timely with information and responsive to our many questions and concerns. We couldn't be more pleased with the result, and the pictures speak for themselves

Jim and his team were exceptional! I needed a tub replaced in my rental property. Unfortunately, I don't live in the same state as my rental. I called Tub Cove and started working with Jim. He was extremely professional and went above and beyond to explain things over the phone. He also went the extra mile to do a thorough inspection of my existing tub and surroundings, checking for any possible leaks and water damage. He even went the extra mile to walk down into my garage and check for possible water damage there. This was extremely helpful since I wasn't there in person. We were fit into the schedule within 2 weeks of our first conversion (and this was over the holidays, spanning across new years). The whole job only took 2 days. The teams that came in to do the replacement were professional and cleaned as they went. I would recommend Tub Cove 100% and would most definitely call on them again.

If you're anything like me, you are scouring the internet for reviews on bathroom remodelers and trying to discern what's real, what's a good deal, and who is actually available in Seattle/the East Side since everyone seems to be doing work on their homes right now and contractors are in high demand! Well, I was in your shoes a few months ago, and I spent a lot of time calling and speaking with companies who had high star ratings on Google. Let me save you some time - Tub Cove is the best quality and the best value with the best crew. I can't say enough wonderful things about Tub Cove & their whole crew, from the owner (Jim) to the awesome office manager (Lexi) and all the hardworking crew & journeymen who remodeled our bathroom, we had the best experience and are so thrilled with the end results. As first-time bathroom remodelers who got in a little over our heads with ideas/overwhelmed with the wide range of companies & pricing out there, Jim took the time to coach us through the whole process, gave us a wide range of options when it came to scale of project, materials and pricing, and then literally helped me turned my Pinterest board dream bathroom into a reality within our budget. You can pick out all your own finishings from any store (we used Wayfair) and then his experts installed new waterproof flooring and even found us an amazing artisan tiler who did the most perfect white subway tile around our new deep-soaking enclosed tub. Our new bathroom is my most favorite part of our house now. Whether you need a repair, just want to replace your bathtub, or want to do a whole remodel like we did, they have experts who can help you with your project. The work crew was super kind & respectful & completely professional. I wish I could give them all more stars! Seriously look at how beautiful ours turned out:

I had my bathroom remodeled by Remont and the process was much easier than I expected. They handled all the details and kept me updated with progress along the way, including photos. I always knew what was happening, and I didn’t have to manage anything myself. The final result looks clean and well finished.

The team did a great job from start to finish. They listened to what i envisioned for the bathroom and made it happen. I would hire them again for all our remodeling projects.

Remont did an amazing job on my bathroom and kitchen remodels, creating an earthy, timeless look and feel. They worked closely with me through every detail, from selecting fixtures and tiles to bringing my design vision to life.
Their craftsmanship was meticulous, and the team took great care to ensure everything was completed to the highest standard. I especially appreciated that they helped me thoughtfully reuse my existing mirrors rather than replacing them unnecessarily.
What stood out most was how well they listened and how attentive they were to every detail. They truly cared about getting things right, and it shows in the final result. Highly recommend them for any remodeling project.
