Small Appliance reviews in Redmond, Washington
-
Service was completed in a timely manner and I was kept informed during the work. My razor is just like new and I am very pleased!
-
Got my waffle maker fixed and couldn’t be happier! I’m so glad this place exists.

In all fairness I was looking for an odd drive belt. But the man didn't hardly look at the example I had. He didn't know how to take measurements of it to look for one online. Did not offer ideas for other places to look. Didn't seem even slightly interested in helping me.

Knowledgeable and efficient. The staff appear very much more concerned with correctly solving your problems than with gladhanding their customers, which is refreshing if you're expecting it but slightly jarring if you're not. Perhaps this mismatch of expectations is the source of the previous negative reviews?

Very unhelpful and rude. Called and asked about a part and was hung up on. I called back and did not even apologize. Then pretended he did not hang up because he did not want to bother. Was told I am out of options because they did not have the part. Dirt Devil was not helpful either but was referred to them from Dirt Devil. Bad customer service, bad company to purchase from.

bad costumer service.
Condescending tone over the phone and in store. Little patience. Reluctant to explain anything in details when asked.
The technician NEVER call back as
promised. I have to call them multiple times to check the repair status. -
This is great place to order hard to find parts. We have a much loved appliance that does have a replacement anymore. Action Small Appliance has been able to find and order parts for us. We have used them four times in the last couple years.
-
Great place but sadly I can’t get my babyliss trimmers fixed. Not this place’s fault. Miss the Everett location. We have nothing up here for clippers.
-
Took in a $150 Shiatsu chair massager which had a severed power cord. He charged me $25 for assessment then $25 more to fix. A week later the power cord completely detached / fell off from massager.

So glad we found Action Appliance! My mom needed her kitchen aide fixed and she lives in Spokane, so I became the delivery driver living on the west side. Since then, they have fixed our dyson, my moms kitchen aide, and our Krupps coffee machine.

Great shop that helped me with a warranty repair of a cheap Hoover battery powered vac. Mike was friendly and honest, and I look forward to buying a good vacuum from him the next time my Hoover breaks.
-
Friendly neighborhood store to get your appliances fixed. Had a minor part damage for an Indian mixie that was fixed within few minutes. The store owner is friendly and welcoming.
-
Took my 15 year old KitchenAid mixer in, they were polite, knowledgeable, and had my item back to me within a week and half.
I'm going to use them for all my repairs from now on. -
Very happy with getting my KitchenAid mixer repaired. Good turn around time. Pricing felt very reasonable. I would bring them any future small appliance repairs.
-
Brought my clippers in to be fixed, because my Schnauzer broke them. Mike was really quite helpful. Fixed the clippers for a fair price, in only a couple days. Highly recommend!

Action Small Appliances fix old or broken appliances rather than send them to a landfill. My Mother's Sunbeam Mixer from years ago, which I learn to cook on, needed a tuneup. They returned it in perfect condition at a far lower price than a new purchase. They have updated wiring on an older lamp and when my old Oreck wore out they found a place which would recycle the parts. A great place.

If its got anything more than a couple moving/electrical parts, forget it, these guys are clueless.
I brought a Phillips/Saeco espresso maker into them that was intermittently claiming it was out of coffee beans after grinding even though there were plenty in the hopper. It felt like a intermittent electrical problem -- a faulty electrical contact that incorrectly informed the micro-processor that the beans were out.
The Saeco is complex appliance - lots of moving parts and sensors and the problem was intermittent, which is a challenge. However, these guys hold themselves out to be experts.
SO they kept the machine for about a week, called and said it was fixed and the bill is $130; only after some prying did they reveal their diagnosis and repair: the bean grinder was not set to a fine enough grind ,and this was causing the incorrect "beans out" error. I was skeptical that a purely mechanical issue would cause this error, but again, they are the small appliance experts and presumably have access to Phillips/Saeco diagnostic manuals that are not on the internet.
Brought the machine home; it was no better and after 2-3 weeks it got considerably worse, to the point where it was not usable.
I then had some time and began to troubleshoot the machine carefully. There is a small micro switch in the unit (a SAIA XCG5 switch) whose sole purpose in the universe is to sense the amount of ground coffee in the compression tamper and tell the microprocessor when the tamper is full. This switch is exposed to the humid interior of the machine, and its internal contacts had gone bad, causing it to misreport whether or not the compression tamper is full of ground coffee. The switch reports the tamper is empty and the micro concludes the machine is out of beans, and throws up the error.
Replaced the switch and the machine is flawless again.
SO NOT ONLY DID these guys completely misdiagnose the problem and then give me some BS explanation about a non-fix while keeping my money, they totally missed the internet-available parts list that clearly lists the SAIA switch as the "coffee dose sensor".
If your vacuum needs hairballs cleaned out of it, these might be the guys; anything more complicated and they will just be guessing, taking your money and giving you nonsensical diagnoses. -
If you don't LOVE Mike and his store, there's something wrong with you! I've been dealing with Action Small Appliance for more than 15 years and even though I've moved to Oregon, I still make it there everytime I visit the Eastside! Knowledgable, fair prices and if it can be fixed, Mike can do it. Amazon can't provide service when you need it! Mike carries a wide selection of great products, we buy from no one else! Can't find service like this any more except from Mike!!!

Let me save you the time. They do not stock Cruizin Cooler parts they have to be ordered. You can do that yourself & fix it yourself. There plug & play, and some screws. Step by step repair videos on Cruizin Cooler website, and YouTube.

Over the years, Action Appliance has consistently provided high quality service including accurate quotes, timely service, and lasting repairs.
In addition, I rely on them to recommend brands of small appliances which won't break down and they have provided that information; a repair shop that doesn't sell the brands that they will have to repair frequently?
FABULOUS! Thank you and I look forward to doing business with you in the future. -
Only game in town. Was told it would take a week to look at it. I called in late afternoon a week later and I was next in line. Received call and my late model appliance was not worth repairing. Was told about refurbished equipment and I asked if the price was comparable to Costco's. The guy got kind of snooty with me and told me he doesn't know everybody's prices. Guess what? Costco's cheaper.
