I have worked with Frank Shields and Excavators NW for over 20 years including lifting 5 houses. Not only is Frank an expert on house lifting, he is also an exceptional human being!! I highly recommend Excavators NW.

Frank was able to fix an impossible situation when my parents were remodeling their house. He was able to coordinate with City of Seattle utilities to relocate underground power to their house. I know it's not what his company usually does, but Frank went above and beyond to solve the problem and take care of my Dad. The project would not have been completed without Frank's assistance.

We had refinished our basement in 2008, then, unfortunately had water in the basement that did damage. I shopped around and got different opinions and widely different estimates. Excavators NW used a simple inexpensive fix and since then my basement has been dry. We had been quoted by others nearly 10 times what Excavators NW charged. Excavators NW had a much better understanding of the drainage and reasons for the flooding. Their repair included partial sewer drain replacement, French drain, and a sump pump, all of which were a lot less costly and made more sense for our 90-year-old Ballard home than what other companies proposed.
I found out Excavators NW do a lot of work to keep houses dry since most of their business is lifting houses and putting in new basements. I knew nothing about the process but was curious and the owner was very accommodating in explaining how he keeps his customers basements forever dry. Super knowledgeable and super nice guy too. Highly recommended.

Northwest Soil Stabilization completed a difficult access foundation underpinning job for us at the coast and Bob made sure everything went smoothly. The job was completed according to schedule with no headaches, just what we want!

Great experience with Jared, Bob and their team for a deep foundation system they installed for a residence on the Oregon coast. They executed the work safely, efficiently and at a very fair price. They offered ideas to perform the work in a more cost-effective manner and even helped correct a design flaw. I would absolutely work with them again.

Worked with Harjo for over a year designing and then building a 1,000 sq ft ADU for our house. We're delighted with the results. I have seen several projects Kurt Harjo and his team have done and they do wonderful work! He gave me a quote for siding and window replacement and beat out 2 other vendors. Kurt and his team did an amazing job with our remodel! Part of working with any company is looking at not just the quality of their work, but how do they go about it and what happens if there's a miscommunication or misunderstanding? Harjo is the trifecta in that regard. Everything looks and works perfectly, they communicated often and well, they had an endless supply of patience for our questions and changes, and in the few miscommunications we had (there are bound to be some in any complex project), they went above and beyond to make it right. Overall, we had a great experience working with Harjo Construction!

I hired Harjo to build an addition and redo the (very old) kitchen - this expanded into a little more work (motivated by me, as I was understanding some other parts of the house that needed work). When my friends have done renovations, the story is always delay and stress. It was completely the opposite with Harjo - great communication, great help and support all round, and even when I expanded the scope, everything got done on time and well. There were a couple minor problems, and of course there were unexpected things that we found in the process of renovating a 1947 house - but really, really small in comparison to the entire project, and they were easy to resolve. The team was great. The house is so much better now!

HARJO has been a lovely company to work for. Their entire staff is friendly, knowledgeable and reliable. They are very organized and make the construction process flow seemlessly for my remodel! Some of the hiccups I had that stressed me out, they took care of immediately. I love my new kitchen so much. Highly reccomend them to anyone!

Kurt and his team at Harjo Construction did an outstanding job on an extensive second story remodel/third story art loft addition on our home. The quality was excellent. They were collaborative, responsive, efficient, and organized We are very thankful we worked with them and highly recommend them.

We recently completed a major renovation with Harjo Construction, and we couldn’t be happier with the results! The project included a new second floor with three bedrooms and a large bathroom, and the conversion of a walk-in closet into a primary bathroom on the main floor. We also refreshed much of the existing space with new drywall, trim, and finishes. Additionally, we added new doors and opened up a staircase wall, which truly transformed the main floor, bringing in much more light. It was a significant undertaking, but Harjo exceeded our expectations.

From start to finish, the communication was outstanding. We especially looked forward to our weekly sync meetings with Edgar and the team. These meetings kept us informed, ensured any questions or concerns were promptly addressed, and made us feel truly valued throughout the process.

The quality of work was impeccable. The drywall and trim work were particularly impressive, making our home feel modern and fresh. Harjo’s attention to detail and craftsmanship shone through in every aspect of the renovation.

Though the project extended a few weeks beyond the original timeline due to scope changes, the delays were well-communicated, and the transparency was greatly appreciated. Our neighbors couldn’t believe how quickly such a large project was completed, and we were equally amazed at how smoothly everything went!

Our only regret is that we made our primary bathroom too nice—our kids still want to use it:)

We are thrilled with the final result. The addition blends so seamlessly with the rest of the house that it doesn’t even look like an addition. Harjo took our vision and turned it into reality, and we are so grateful for their professionalism, skill, and dedication.

The team is very responsive, we found out some issues during construction which were not easy to scope out before the construction, because of the quick action of the team, the issues are resolved very fast! We appreciate and feel lucky to work with Harjo!

Harjo did the remodel of our basement into an ADU for our disabled son to take his first steps toward independent living. Our experience was incredible and we're looking forward to working with Harjo again when we remodel our upstairs.

The early stages of the project were key to the overall success. Harjo takes the time to understand the goals, plans, and key decisions up front to avoid as many rude surprises and delays down the line. It worked. They worked very well with our outside designer and architect and never had any problems coordinating the design ambitions with the construction reality.

The middle stages of the project were also well run. Our dedicated project manager kept us up to date about the schedule details, what was coming next, and when we needed to have our decisions made to keep things on track.

Even the inevitable rude surprises went well. We ran into Asbestos tile we didn't know was there until demo began. They brought in the require abatement crew, switched around the order of some work, and kept us mostly on schedule.

And last, but not least, the end game of the project went great. Harjo did not push back on or linger in getting the last remaining punch list items done like so many remodel projects do. They methodically built the punch list list, worked through it, and made sure we were satisfied, including adding things to the list that we missed in the first review.

An job that took almost 10 months from initial stages to all the way done and we hit the timeline within two weeks and the estimate within 20% with almost all that extra 20% coming from our decisions to go with more expensive options and add some tactical work to the schedule.

We highly recommend Harjo and plan to use them again.
