Ben’s Plumbing & Heating Co. is amazing!

A few months ago, I had a stinky sewer problem, and from the moment I called, their team was professional, punctual, and incredibly knowledgeable. They diagnosed the issue quickly, explained all my options, gave me a fair price, and completed the job efficiently.

Due to drops of water appearing on the exterior underside of the overhang below my kitchen sink I suspected a small leak. After researching plumbers I chose Ben's Plumbing based on their positive reviews and BBB accreditation, switching from the firm we had used several times in the past.

Derek and Taylor (Tyler?) arrived and were able to find the general area of the leak. In order to expose the pipes and pinpoint the leak, they concluded that a hole would need to be cut in the groove-and-tongue staggered planks that formed the underside of the overhang. Though they could cut the hole if I wished, they suggested that I have it done by a specialist for aesthetic reasons; Ben's could then return and fix the exposed pipe. I followed their suggestion.

After the pipes were exposed I was able to locate the very wee leak. Ben's Plumbing then sent Derek and Taylor to do the repair. They did excellent work, and the total cost was very reasonable with no surprises.

The office staff I communicated with (via text) to set up the two appointments, Michelle and Kiera, were a pleasure to deal with.

When our disposer sprung a leak, we contacted Ben's Plumbing because they had outstanding ratings, reviews, and a great web site. Nolan and Eric did excellent work on everything we needed to have done, including extras we added to their work order. When a surprise electrical glitch was discovered, Nolan immediately jumped in to help us located an equally-highly-rated local electrician. All is now back up and running smoothly. A thousand thank you's to Nolan, Eric, and Michelle for being so professional and kind. They all did outstanding work and we are very grateful and happy we called Ben's Plumbing.

They were here for three visits and handled some genuinely challenging work with professionalism and care. The main job involved replacing a toilet drain lead bend, which turned out to be very complex - they had to cut through a joist to do it properly, and one night they worked all the way until 7pm to make sure it was done right.

What really stood out was everything they helped with outside the original scope. They installed both a toilet and a sink even though that wasn’t part of their job, and the sink required installing the faucet and assembling legs onto it, they just took it on without hesitation. They also went upstairs to help us diagnose a toilet valve leak and helped fix it on the spot even though that wasn't a part of their scope.

We also had our 1-year-old baby at home during the work, and Josh and Alex were incredibly mindful of him the entire time; making sure stair areas were safe, keeping tools secured, and being very aware of where he was. As parents, that level of consideration meant a lot to us.

Throughout the process, they were patient, thorough, and clearly cared about doing quality work, not just checking boxes. It’s rare to find tradespeople who are this willing to help when things get complicated.

From the first call for help to job completion, this place was amazing. The person who helped me on the phone was kind, patient and knowledgeable. We called for help with a small, non emergent leak so didn't need someone to come right away, but they got us on the schedule later that week. Darin and his partner checked in to see if they could come earlier than the original window which was a great surprise. I showed them the problem, they asked some questions and got to work. Just over an hour later it was identified and fixed. This was one of my first needs for a plumber, and if I ever need one again I'm calling Ben's. Kind, courteous, clean, skilled and judgement free.

I recently hired Brian from Ben’s Plumbing to replace my PRV (pressure reducing valve) and expansion tank, and I couldn't be happier with the result. We needed a new water heater, mine was 10 years old and I wasn’t waiting for a leak or emergency to have me make the call in a rush. We have special equipment and needed a good company to handle the install. Ben’s was referred to me by a contractor I worked with, but I still called 3 companies, (one didn’t show up and one didn’t follow up). Ben’s was quick to come to my house to provide an estimate and look at what I needed, they were prompt with an estimate returned to me, I had polite, knowledgeable installers who went the extra mile (Nick) and did things that probably should’ve been done 10 years ago to the piping and everything was reasonably executed. I am happy I used Ben’s I got great value and service.

I had a sewer clog. Wayne came out and unclogged it and then identified the root of the problem being in the city sewer pipe. He worked with the city to fix it. He was super helpful, responsive and can't say enough good things about him. As good as it gets.

My outside drain backed up into my basement. I called Wayne at Emerald City Sewer and he and his crew came over that evening. Evidently the problem was quite a ways from the house. Not only did they blow out the entire line, but they installed an outside access to the sewer line, which I didn't have in my 1962 house. Cleaned up like they were never there. Highly recommend!

We had flooding of our basement and thought that we probably needed a French drain installed, which is super costly. We called Emerald City Plumbing and Wayne came out and looked at what was happening and figured out that the problem was with the rain coming off of the roof. Our downspouts were missing or not well directed. They repaired them and diverted all of the water out to the street instead of the foundation of our house, where it was previously going. They also dug some soil out next to our house and sealed the wall outside.

Throughout the process they kept us in the loop. They don't do work inside, but Wayne suggested what we needed done and he even came to check on the interior once we had the sheet rock removed. He was then able to see that we had a leak from a crack between the window where the water was entering the wall.

We were so impressed by him and his whole team! So professional and responsive.

We’ve had Emerald City out a few times and every time they make the process so smooth. It's never pleasant finding out you need a sewer line repaired but Wayne and Emerald City Sewer made it a relatively painless process. It wasn't cheap, but the price was definitely fair for how much work was involved, and the job was completely quickly and as promised. Thanks to the whole Emerald City crew.
