Called Genesis for a chimney inspection. They were available same day, but I had them come out the next day.

Avni was professional, polite, and left no mess. He took pictures of his inspection and talked through options for what I needed. He deep cleaned my flue and fireplace in just a few hours. Would recommend! +10% fee for check, 13% for credit card, so pay in cash if you are able.

Benjamin just came to clean my fireplace - and what a great experience! He's very knowledgeable, told me what I needed to do now and what could wait, and did a thorough job. He even made sure my embers and lava rock looked perfect. Thank you!!

After years of neglect, my chimney was in desperate need of repair. I contacted them, and they did an outstanding job. From fixing cracks to replacing damaged bricks, they handled everything with precision and care. Now my chimney looks as good as new!

Had my gas fireplace serviced by Genesis. Received call back same day and a tech out within a few days and fixed it same day. Initial estimate seems a bit high, included call-out fee, tuneup, and fireplace remote (simple on/off, no flame adjustment) they worked with me and they got it done and I now have a working fireplace.

Benjamin called prior to his arrival, came on time and was professional and courteous! He cleaned my very dirty electric fireplace quickly and efficiently. I will be using them again and recommending to me friends. Great job.

Our built-in woodturning stove fireplace with a 2-story class A chimney was thoroughly cleaned by Genesis Home Services. It was obvious that the tech was very skilled. He was diligent in his work, gave the house a thorough cleaning, wore a mask, and had no qualms about climbing to the top of our chimney and perching there 30 feet in the air! He outlined his methodology, findings, and suggestions in detail. The next time, we'd be happy to have him come clean our chimney.

I have looked around at many places for the best prices on getting my fireplace cleaned and updated. The guys at Genesis were great! Ben was very knowledgeable and told me exactly what to expect with my cleaning. I'm always nervous having someone in my home but I would invite them back every year to get the job done!

Benjamin and his team came out promptly for an estimate on our chimney leak. We wanted the job on our chimney done prior to the rainy season and they were actually able to complete the work on our chimney prior to the initial service date.

They redid the crowning and flashing and weatherproofed the chimney. Work was high quality. Definitely recommend!

The technician communicated the anticipated arrival time (within the time frame given when I booked). Mike arrived as promised and quickly identified and solved the problem. My fireplace works beautifully now.

We’ve been in our 100 year old house for 13 years, and every time I’ve used either of our two fireplaces, smoke would seep in from the other fireplace. I’ve had four fireplace and chimney professionals over to try to help me solve the problem, but no luck.
Ben from Genesis comes over, and within three minutes he has correctly diagnosed the problem. He quickly gets a quote to fix it, and within an hour we are smoke free. We were about to try a much more costly and invasive solution, so I saved money and got exactly what I wanted.

Genesis Home Services did an excellent job in cleaning and inspection of our gas fireplace. Dave is very responsive during scheduling and he makes sure that all questions are answered in a timely manner.

Our fireplace just needed some cleaning in the burning chamber and the crew did an excellent job at that while also explaining everything along the way, very impressed! They were also respectful for our house which is something I appreciate.

Their price quote is probably not the cheapest however their availability is pretty good and they are quite responsive. Overall happy with the service!

A couple of years ago I had them out to try and fix my gas fireplace which was no longer lighting. They took a 2 minute look and told me that my fireplace was too old and probably the company wasn't making parts for it anymore and it would be too expensive to try and fix it if anything was wrong and I should just buy a new fireplace from them instead. I still was on the hook for the several hundred dollar minimum inspection fee, but they told me they could roll it into a chimney cap installation. When the chimney cap was installed a few days later, it was so poorly secured that within number a couple days, squirrels had gotten into it and had started building a nest inside my chimney. I ended up just pulling off the chimney cap to stop them, so for $800 I ended up with nothing different.

I'm posting this review now because I just found out that valor is a Canadian company and therefore have to continue to provide parts. I'm not sure if the two techs were unaware or intentionally just trying to sell me a new fireplace instead of fixing mine. They didn't even open it up to see the inside. And today I ended up replacing the thermo coupler and cleaning out the gas intakes, and it took me a couple hours, but it's working perfectly again. I was disappointed before, but now that I know how a novice like me was able to solve the problem for $45 in parts and a few hours of work it is like salt in the wound.

I'm giving them 2 stars because throughout the process the two techs who arrived were very pleasant and polite and I do really appreciate that.

David was great to work with. He gave us different options and explained each one thoroughly. The bid ended up being far cheaper than what we planned. David showed up on time and completed the job in a timely manner. I couldn’t ask for a better experience!!

Sean from Genesis came over to take look at the Napoleon fireplace and diagnosed the problem quickly and provided an easy solution and addressed it.

Sean knows what he is doing, reliable, professional and communicative. Gas fireplaces in general are pricey and not worth the expense as I prefer simply burning wood. But if you have to fix a gas unit, Genesis is a good company to use for sure.
