Landscaping reviews in Seattle, Washington

One of our favorite places! We live up in the north end and have our fill of nurseries, but we always make a trek down to Swansons! This is a green thumb's paradise! The have a bountiful variety of plants, vegetables, flowers, trees, gardening supplies, gifts etc! The staff are super friendly, knowledgeable and if they don't have something they are willing to order it for you within reason of course. The cafe is a great to get beverages, breakfast or lunch, some baked goodies, gelato amongst the beautiful koi fish!! On a sunny warm day, gelato always hits the spot while meandering the grounds! Whatever we have brought home from here has thrived and is healthy in our yard, home, porch and patio!

Came for indoor plant shopping over the weekend. Great place with a large selection.(I am a novice at gardening). They also have a nice cafe with a bunch of options. I was not prepared for that but I did try a lemon poppy muffin with some Americano.
Service is great and people are so helpful and prompt to answer queries. -
Floating fish is suitable for Noruz 7س.

I feel so ripped off.
On Mother's day I splurged and bought three Double Knock Out rose bushes at $50 each. They are to spruce up our little co-op schools yard!
Today I just happened to come to Home Depot and see the exact same roses, Double Knock Out (same container, same size, same label) for $35 each!
WTH. I don’t get it!?
The roses are already in the ground so can’t exactly return them to Swansons!
Super bummed! -
I love Swanson’s. What lured me in was the fantastic selection, especially for native plants. However, what has kept me a loyal customer is the knowledge and skill of their staff. I had neglected some plants and they were not going to last much longer. I was helped by Marcy and Nathan, who made some kind suggestions based on photos I brought, and now all the previously struggling plants are thriving. Their printed plant care instructions are also very informative. Pictured are the plants they helped me save.

Absolutely adore this local nursery. Not only do they have an incredible selection of gardening items, accessories, tools, but they have a very well curated plant array. They also have a sweet little cafe with koi pond and do fun seasonal events. We will continue coming here!

An extremely nice and upscale nursery for those that are into gardening. The store has a large selection of plants and garden essentials to choose from. The staff is extremely friendly, courteous and helpful.
The only downside is that this business is rather pricey for some of the items that they offer. I guess that is to be expected when you're located in Blue Ridge. -
I am
Very happy with the customer service and quality of plants from Swanson’s Nursery.
Anna the manager and the owner along with floor employees Levi and Jasper provided superb customer service.
They proved in dealing with a small hiccup that they back their service with the same quality as their plants. I will be back to Swanson’s Nursery.
I am A Master Gardener with a whole city block I built for people and pollinators. -
Lots of plant collections with full informations of the plat care. I was not able to see any carnivorous plants there. But still there are very rare plants . The sequence how they displayed is confusing. Staff is really coperative. Now they issue coupens as reward to by plants after two months and offering 40% discount for rose plants.

Lively nursery with lots of helpful staff. The cafe is worth the trip and price alone! My kids really enjoyed the koi pond and I appreciated the indoor plant selection as well as the outdoor garden center.

I can easily spend an hour here and I usually do. This place has plants, trees, a coffee shop, a koi pond, a gift shop. A few days ago, I saw a super cool miniature train installation there and spent solid 20 minutes just looking at every detail.
The nursery is very big and everything is marked clearly. This is my go-to nursery to buy gifts for my plant-loving friends. The cafe has a pet-friendly seating area. -
Swansons is a fantastic nursery! I’ve been looking for a nursery like this in Seattle for a long time, and this place is perfect!
They have such wonderful helpers for all of your questions! They have plants in all different variations for whatever you have planned for your yard!
They also have much more than the basics of what you need! If you’re doing anything with your yard and need anything, they most likely have it!
They also have a wonderful bakery/kitchen! Their food is delicious and their bakery items are great as well!

A green island you never wish to leave, it has all the plants you want to keep inside your home or in your garden. There is plenty of support both in the store and online on how to take care of the plants. Super helpful staff!
Lots of indoor decor for any season and right now it's Christmas time. They have beautiful Christmas train setup and Santa's yurt. Fun times for kids!
A beautiful cafe with an amazing koi pond. You cannot find a cleaner pond than this! -
Beautiful nursery! So many well laid out areas, great selections of vegetables, perennials, you name it. Could spend hours here just looking around. They've got it all for the constant gardener!

This place was incredible. Went there today, it’s a little plant wonderland. Talked to an employee for 20-30 minutes and she was so nice, helpful and answered every question I could have as a new plant owner. Would highly recommend this place to anyone.

This nursery is being run with great care and a deep understanding of botany, where flowers and vegetables are displayed according to the season.
The arrangement of flowering plants in a very large space provides an artistic display of botany.
This nursery is an ornate arrangement that would make anyone happy. This is the best and the beyond after coveted existence of 100 years in Seattle. -
I’m not from the area so I asked a friend which plant nurseries he would recommend and this was one of a few. HOLY COW! What a cool place, so huge with so many different greenhouses and outdoor plant areas as well. The little gift shop was stocked with lots of cute stuff too. I left with a couple of plants on my wishlist that I couldn’t find in my small town, and of course a few plants that weren’t on my wishlist 😅 Everything was very clean and well taken care of. Beyond the plants and gifts there was a huge selection of pots and plant care necessities for indoor and outdoor plants. My only complaint is the pricing seemed to vary from plant to plant. Some were a steal, while others were a bit overpriced. The huge variety makes up for that, IMO. If one is priced a little higher there will probably be something else you adore that will be priced more appropriately. There were a lot of plants and items that were on sale too, so bargains to be had.
I will most definitely be returning when it’s time for outdoor planting! -
My mom and mine newest favorite nursery, complete with a cafe, awesome gelato, great coffee and a lovely welcoming vibe and staff.

I understand charging a mark up is just part of business, especially for a small business in-person, but Swanson’s is borderline criminal. Charging more than double for most items you would find elsewhere. I just got an 8.5 ft Fraiser Fir at Donna’s for $180 after tax and it was healthier than the $300 one at Swanson’s. Shop here if you’re *that* rich. I recommend Donna’s Trees, Magnolia Garden Center or Indoor Sun Shop for realistic pricing.

This is a plant lovers paradise. They have something for everyone. The sections are well marked and nicely organized. The plants are all so beautiful, it’s lovely to just take a walk and see everything. Their outdoor pots are beautiful. I specially liked all the garden sculptures and decorations. There is even a little cafe here! Great way to spend a day.

This review is for the people in the cafe. They’re so nice. Today I went in asking if they could make me a gluten free mocha. They asked just about everyone to find the answer. I couldn’t have the mocha but at least they found out whether or not it’s safe. I can’t tell you how many people appear to sincerely not care or will roll their eyes. I’ll be back to have the gelato next time, which is GF.
PS the Hellebores were showstopping today!!
