Sound Brickworks did a beautiful job tuck pointing our chimney. Justin and Rachel were both professional and friendly. They even provided good advice about some design elements that improved the appearance - at no extra cost.

Justin and Rachel were a pleasure to work with on some maintenance related issues we needed addressed in our new home. The inspector said our chimney cap needed replacement and there was a random hole in our brick wall where the electrical meter used to be. Justin did an amazing job explaining everything that would be needed for the repairs and answering all of our questions. While completing the repairs we could tell that Justin took great pride in his work and wanted to ensure the job was done right and with high quality results. Rachel was also excellent at communication and managing the business side of things. We would hire them again in a heartbeat and would recommend them without hesitation to anyone needing masonry work completed.

Sound Brickworks did a Great Job on the lintels and refurbishing the mortar between bricks. Justin and Rachel bent over backwards to match the colors we wanted. They were on time, did the work for the agreed upon budget, and it was done very well. We would hire them again and highly recommend their work.

The folks at Sound Brick Works were stellar all around . They were able to take some of our salvaged bricks to re-create the original brick columns for our 1916 Crafstman home. While they were at it they re-did a bunch of the mortar for the whole porch and created custom concrete caps. They even replaced some lavender plants that were unavoidably affected by the work.. Highly recomend them.

Sound Brickworks responded and came out promptly to inspect our chimney and provide us with a quote. They thoroughly explained what the repairs would entail and worked with us to get our job on the schedule as soon as possible , as our unexpected but necessary repair was holding up progress on other projects. They showed up on the day promised and completed the work efficiently, cleaning up thoroughly once they finished. Communication was excellent throughout and price was very competitive. Professional and friendly , we would not hesitate to use Sound Brickworks for future needs or to recommend to anyone needing masonry work .

After having to move on from another company to rebrick our chimney, I couldn’t have been more happy with the work that was done. There was one initial meeting with an employee at the house to see the work that needed to be done, and within a few weeks, they went right to work. Very professional and courteous, and great communication with all parties that were involved as far as scheduling, payment, and work being completed day by day. I personally dont know anything about how long a project like rebuilding a brick chimney takes, but I was impressed that it took no more than 4 days. Although I had minimal interaction with the crew, they addressed me by name and with a smile as I left or entered my home. I hope to not need their services again, because it would mean my home needs more work. However, if and when that day comes, these would be the first people I would call.

When we contacted them we had just had a bad experience with another company leaving our outdoor fireplace project in a completely unfinished and unsafe state. Justin came out to our home to assess the project and provide a quote. He was honest about what we could salvage from the earlier work and provided a solid go-forward plan. Not only did he quickly follow-up with a thorough quote, but also sent over multiple sketches of the design. Rachel followed-up to answer any questions and also to ensure we were on the same page regarding our timeline. Not only did Justin (and his colleague, Pat) work tirelessly on our project during a Seattle heat wave they updated us with pictures along the way as we were out of town during a portion of the project. We were extremely pleased with the chimney repair done by Sound Brickworks. We have an older home (1936) and the mortar was starting to crumble. The birds were pecking away at it in search of bugs! My husband has agreed to stay off the roof and was happy to hire professionals to perform this work on our steep pitched roof. Justin was friendly, timely and professional. Justin and Rachel are an awesome team to work with. Justin was quick to come out and give a great and detailed quote, he was quick to answer any questions we had and excited to work with us on our chimney and fireplace rebuild. Justin's work ethic is fantastic, he came to the project early and got straight to work and always had a clean work area and made sure he cleaned up before he left for the day. We are really happy with the work he did. Rachel kept us well informed and made the process of setting up the work schedule a breeze. They both were always quick with responses and we never felt out of the loop or worried during this project.

Sound Brickworks is a remarkable masonry company. We hired them to redo mortar that had deteriorated in a basement fireplace due to water damage and to inspect and repair a chimney. Nothing creative yet, but essential jobs that required timely attention by a skilled masonry person. The fireplace restoration was excellent and now with a little paint looks spectacular. The chimney was built in 1921 so had gone through multiple repairs that even I could see were not good. The mortar in the chimney had also deteriorated so it was not safe, even if there were a very small earthquake or perhaps some strong winds. This was also fixed.
Justin is remarkably good at explaining what and why would be done in addition to addition to explaining the unexpected issues that usually crop up in these kinds of repairs. His work is just superb as expected from viewing Sound Brickworks website. Rachel is a force mostly behind the scenes with management of communications, billing and whatever. Remarkably responsive to emails and delivery of detailed invoices. Billing is one of the very smoothest and best I have ever seen with many options and easy payment methods. Click, click, done, so little hassle.
Overall, I would give 10 stars relative to the only five stars I am allowed. Sound Brickworks is one of the very best companies I have dealt with over many years.

>The initial plan was creating a mother-in-law type suite. Anthony came out to our place, took detailed notes of our wants/needs/budget, measured the space and took reference photos.
>He presented us with three potential options, sort of a “baby, mamma, papa” situation in terms of features and budget.
>Anthony was SO patient with our design revisions. Budget was a main factor for us. He was super conscientious of keeping the key features while keeping the budget where we hoped.
>Communication through the whole process was on point. He kept us up to speed during the permitting process. Also he was very transparent during the process of finding sub-contractors and ensured he found reputable folks, people he and we could trust.

-Execution-
>Once we had permits in hand Anthony got to work immediately. The overall schedule/timeline for the project was written up and shared with us. He was provide almost daily progress reports.
>He took such care in protecting our existing space with floor cover and plastic wall sheets.
>Anthony was able to keep to his estimated timeline. (I don’t count the delay waiting for permits. He hounded their office as much as professionally possible).
>His design abilities are exceptional. He is schooled and trained and it shows.
>His craftsmanship is of the same caliber. He ensured a high quality build and I have no concerns with the longevity of the foundation and framing of our new space.

-Bonus-
>Anthony is just a great guy. He was pleasant and easy to work with. He would stop and chat with my kids and humor their questions/rants.
>This was our first major project; our first time hiring out. We experience NONE of the stereotypical horror stories that people share about hiring a contractor.

Anthony of Crex Construction built these gorgeous custom stair railings for me. He was awesome to work with -- responsive during the planning, really fast at getting the job done, and the price was very fair. He also installed some doors for us and built some custom trim. Anthony makes doing construction on your home more fun than stressful, since he is so comfortable with construction and you know you are in great hands.

Working with Anthony was a seamless experience from start to finish. What could have been stressful turned into something we actually enjoyed thanks to his professionalism and expertise.
