I am a contractor who has worked with Doug over the past several years. He and his family should be the model for what it means to be great. Absolutely superb work! Doug turned my disaster of a rural, steep driveway into a route that is now a pleasure to drive. In the 23+ years I’ve been a homeowner, I’ve hired more than a dozen contractors for jobs large and small. Doug’s knowledge, honesty and integrity made selecting him an easy choice. From the initial estimate to job completion, the communication, detailed explanations of the work needed (including my options) and the quality of the work performed were unmatched. Doug and his team corrected what a previous contractor left for me to cope with, a mess. What would have taken me years to correct on my own was resolved in one day. Contour Grading brought experience, knowledge, and integrity. Customer focus and satisfaction is their highest priority, and it shows in their work. We waited two years after buying our farm to be able to have our dreams of a front yard become a reality. In the 44 years since the home was built, there was never anything but weeds and uneven terrain due to a new Septic System install.We came in contact with Doug at Contour Grading by chance and what a blessing. We came over right away and then sent a detailed Bid by email. We liked everything about the experience of having him and all his amazing machines transform our wreck of a property into the beginnings of a beautiful future landscaped , level and weed-free yard. We had a great experience from start to finish with Doug and Darcy with Contour Grading. They are professional, knowledgeable, have a great work ethic and do excellent work. This was our first experience hiring an excavation contractor. Doug answered our many questions, made recommendations and was a pleasure to work with. He took a grassy area adjacent to our driveway that had a slight slope and turned it into an RV pad with a basalt chip surface. Darcy built the retaining wall. They also did a remarkable job cleaning up when they finished. I highly recommend them.

Doug and his crew did a fantastic job revising the end of my driveway, grading and packing my long driveway and placing a large French Drain underneath the driveway to take care of a significant recurrent erosion problem. The drain has completely taken care of the erosion problem and has been tested now by several heavy rains. The driveway modification has allowed it to be a lot safer when I pull out to take a left turn on a blind curve. Doug is personable, professional and easy to communicate with. His team was on time and were also very professional and polite. My expectations were met and even exceeded. I would highly recommend Doug and his company; I couldn't be happier!

Doug and Contour Grading are some of the best people you will ever meet! My wife and I were in need of a rock retaining wall and some other miscellaneous grading projects. From the 1st initial phone call to the end of the project, Doug's communication and understanding of our wants and needs was great! Once I made contact with him he made a site visit and we set a date to start the project. Everything was completed in a timely manor and the quality of the work was absolutely incredible! Contour Grading has earned a customer for life!

Contour Grading surpassed our expectations. Beginning with a safety-first, comprehensive explanation of the work flow to be performed through to the final inspection we were totally impressed with the logical, expedient process. Mr. Dinger and his crew were polite, professional, and no-nonsense on the job site. We were promptly informed of changes/issues and trusted the Contour Grading solutions. The same tasking we had done by Contour Grading was done by a lesser cost company three years ago. Back then, we paid less and got significantly lower quality and very sketchy project results. Our new excavation/landscaping/stonework company is Contour Grading…bank on it.

Update 11/13/25: Jimmie and Doug returned to remove the washboarding from our driveway today; this was caused by erratic driving from delivery trucks (NOT UPS!). The driveway is back to near-perfect and an additional repair to the community cul-de-sac was done to correct severe vandalism caused by someone doing “doughnuts”. Both areas look fantastic now due the professional abilities and dedication to quality that are Contour Grading. Again, you can pay less and I promise you’ll get significantly less quality! I highly recommend R&H General Contractors for all your needs. JW provides fantastic work at a great price. His carpentry skills are top notch and there is nothing he can't do.

Jw came and gave me a look at my basement. He tore down walls and took 3 small rooms and made one beautiful man cave. My electrical was a nightmare but he was able to meticulously find all my electrical shortcomings, and did an awesome job in general. Very educated and personable. I'll run all future upgrades through him to ensure it's done right.

JW was professional, polite and reliable. We will definitely work with him and R&H again in the future. Great sense of humor, easy to get along with and good listener. JW has seemingly very wide skill sets but more importantly knew when to get help and was always transparent with his process. He's not one of the quintessential contractor scheisters.

He saved us from our home sale falling through at the last minute!! Very responsive and did great, creative finishing work in a tricky space!
He stayed late to finish up and ensure it was done correctly!!! We’re really grateful for JW’s attention to detail and problem solving skills…..and it was much cheaper than thought!!!

JW is extremely professional, knowledgeable, and takes the time to make sure the job is done 100% correctly. The drywall that he repaired and replaced looks incredible. He also did an amazing job texturing the new drywall to match the old around it and it looks seemless. He explains everything in detail and goes above and beyond. He is a true master of his craft.
