Father Nature remodeled our existing dock. They had their work cut out for them because our dock was not attractive. We can't believe the transformation, they greatly exceeded our expectations. Their design, construction and execution were amazing!

Update: FNL has been working with us since the original review and have been very helpful. So helpful that we have decided to work with them again on our front yard. They have already fixed the drain issue in the back and plan to fix the irrigation as well when they come back for the rest of the work. Will update again after the rest of the work is completed. This review is long overdue. FNL redid our backyard in 2021 and they did a pretty good job at first but the customer service completely fell apart in the end. 1) We were given a design plan we liked but then were given an estimate that didn't include all parts of the original design. For example, we wanted a permanent gas fire pit. As novice landscape clients, we didn't notice it wasn't part of the estimate until after the work had begun. They ended up getting us the pit but it was the sloppiest job with gaps between the stones, loose stones along the rim, and the orange goo used to keep it together is visible all over. 2) We had a consistent concern that one of our original drains in the backyard was not going to remain after all was said and done. We asked time and time again for them to keep the drain which they ignored, saying that the grade would take care of it. Guess what? we have a small pond on our sports court with every heavy rain. 3) An irrigation system was set up and we were guaranteed that it was well under the pressure limit for each zone. Not once have the sprinklers all worked in the back due to lack of pressure. First, we thought it was the huge leak we found in the system at the control box but the sprinklers still didn't work after they came to fix it. We asked them to come back again and they refused. 4) They did keep one of the original drains at the other end of the sports court but we still noticed 2 inches of standing water in the surrounding lawn after the first big rain. We tried to run a snake down it but always reached a block. We asked them to come back to look at this and again, they refused saying that drain was never hooked up to the existing drain pipe in the first place. Because they would not come back, my husband dug up the drain to see what was going on and found a cobbled together hack job with their misaligned pipes that run right by the existing drain pipe but do not connect to it (see picture). So now, in the summer, we water our back lawn with movable sprinklers and have a swamp in the winter. I was so upset 2 summers ago, I called to speak to the owner. The receptionist was very nice and called me back to say that the owner was in a meeting but they would call back the next day. Of course, they never called. I highly recommend you look elsewhere if you want a company with integrity and follow through.

In the spring of 2021, we had a pond with a salmon fountain put built in our back yard. We purchased to fountain from a dealer in Santa Fe, NM and had Father Nature, a local landscaping company build the pond and the surrounds. They did a wonderful job and gave us a 3-year warranty on the work they did, which included purchasing and installing the pump for the fountain. At the end of the second year, we had some problems with the inner workings of the fountain which had 8 salmon spouting water. So, the fountain was nonoperational for about 9 months. Once we had the fountain repaired and tried to hook it back up to the pump, the pump was not working correctly. We notified Father Nature and were politely told our warranty expired. I appealed and was told that someone would contact me. I was contacted by the owner, Chris Scheer, the next day. After hearing my story, he told me he would be out in 45 minutes. He showed up and we discussed the pump and then he pointed out some other things that needed to be made better. Within a few short weeks, all was better to include an new pump. All at no charge. What a wonderful company and management. I would highly recommend them for any of your landscaping needs.

Your search is over. I can't say enough about the positive experience working with Father Nature on our backyard transformation project. From Trent's constant communication, to Laureen's amazing design, and Josh/Oswaldo's team making the vision a reality, we couldn't be more happy with the results - we love it - and all this was accomplished in a crazy 2020 year. Their workmanship is top-notch and they truly want to "get it right." I'm happy to recommend Father Nature to anyone who will listen.

Father Nature Landscapes came out and did an absolutely fantastic job on our backyard. They were prompt, the quality of work was exactly what we wanted, and a few cleanup items were handled immediately. Izzy and Chris were joys to work with, and their love of their craft was evident in the quality and professionalism with which their work was done. Will definitely be hiring them for future projects.

Had a great experience with Father Nature! They listened to our desires, but also brought their own artistic vision, to come up with a beautiful design for our yard. They were very helpful as we navigated a difficult approval process with our HOA. They communicated well leading up to and during the actual landscaping days. Their team worked efficiently, respected our space, and left everything looking great. They made last-minute tweaks to address concerns that arose during installation. The yard looks great and we can’t wait to see things bloom in the spring! All around a great experience. Can’t recommend them highly enough!

Father Nature did a complete re-work of my yard over several years, and were absolutely great to work with. Pricing estimates were reasonable and reliable. Work was timely and executed beautifully. Their design and plant selection were fantastic, and they also worked wonderfully with me to tweak the plan based on my preferences. They came back whenever needed to address issues, and made changes at no cost when we'd had a misunderstanding about plant choice for one area. Their crew's prep, installation and clean-up were impeccable every time. Can't recommend them highly enough.

We partnered with Father Nature to do a complete re-design of both our front and backyard landscape and have been extremely happy with the finished product. The entire team at Father Nature has been a pleasure to work with starting with Cameron who's design ideas and professionalism was top rate, to Carrie's landscape design which was wonderful and incorporated all our ideas and requests. The team on-site did exceptional work and were very conscientious. Isaibel, the project manager was a delight to work with and super responsive with anything that came up throughout the process.
Our project with Father Nature included paver patio and walkway, large arbors for screening and softening, pergola and patio to place a spa/hot tub, BBQ island with covered pergola, all plantings, irrigation system and landscape lighting system.
We couldn't be happier with our new landscape and entertainment area and would recommend Father Nature without hesitation!!

I moved to North Tacoma two years ago. I purchased and remodeled a home to be close to family. The home had good bones and location, but what sold me was the big backyard that had lots of potential to create a garden oasis that I knew I wanted. I did a lot of research and price comparisons for a landscape contractor that led me to a meeting with Chris at FN. After he left, I knew from our initial meting that I didn’t have to continue searching.

Chris and team had no problem taking on a project knowing the design would be a collaboration by owner and others.
The project was to be a garden for entertaining as well as plans for a future studio,/EDU, water feature and possible hot tub.
Tasks involved total demo of concrete and existing landscape, as well as trenching for water, electrical, gas and drainage.
Father Nature was nothing but professional and transparent regarding cost as well as working thru the areas that needed tweaking for the project to work. I cannot say enough good things.
The FN team are like a second family to me now. Michael, Izzy, José and team were always there when they said they would be; (that alone says a lot in the construction industry)
I did spend more than I initially budgeted for due to the fact that they knew what they were doing and I wanted it done right the first time.
They say “You always get what you pay for!”…And I did. I couldn’t be happier.
Phase 1 is complete.
Phase 2 planting is already scheduled for spring!

The crew was professional from start to finish. We had our entire front yard redone to replace the grass with stones and native plants, and we had a patio added to the side yard. The result is gorgeous, and we're very happy with the work.

There were quite a few communication snafus - times where "someone will back to me" but never did, and others where my emails simply went unanswered. However, I know this is a smaller company and just took it upon myself to continue following up with them. Example - currently my yard has a giant, dead bush because that one plant didn't survive. I asked them about paying to have it replaced over two months ago, and haven't heard back.

(My AFTER picture crops out the dead bush, which is on the front corner. Overall it looks fantastic.)

We hired Father Nature to install an irrigation system, build a second retaining wall (above an existing retaining wall), and update our landscaping. The management team was easy to communicate with and quick to respond to our questions. The installation team did a good job. We are happy with the final outcome of our project. The wall looks great and the plants are growing well with the new irrigation system.

Our experience with Chris, Isaibel, Michael, and the rest of their team was fantastic. The yard looks fantastic and the water feature came out beyond my highest expectations. The landscaping team was professional throughout the entire project, it was timely (actually earlier from what I had expected), and there were no hidden costs. Chris and Isaibel explained each step and each cost, and any last minute unexpected changes occurred, everything was discussed and approved by us at that time.

We are moving into a maintenance contract with them. While not the cheapest option out there, I shudder to think of the shortcuts that would have been taken and the lack of input from us if we went with a cheaper contractor. Cost was definitely worth it.

Father Nature Landscaping has been incredible to work with. From Chris, who we first met during planning, to the project managers Michael and Isaibel, and Osvaldo the foreman, the entire team was outstanding.
They paid close attention to every detail and made sure we were satisfied at each stage of the project. Once the work started, we made several changes to the original design. Instead of pushing back or making excuses, they adjusted quickly and made the changes exactly how we wanted them. Even better, everything stayed within our budget.
We are extremely happy with the results and look forward to working with them again on the remaining landscaping for our yard. We highly recommend Father Nature Landscaping.

They came out to look at installing a paver walkway for me and then never provided a quote. They said they would get back to me by that evening but nothing. If the job was too small they could have let me know. What a waste if my time.

They took my crazy overgrown yard and made it look so beautiful and clean! I am so happy with the work that they did and for a very reasonable price.
