Kurtis and his team did a wonderful job removing an old wood stove for us. Kurtis was a pleasure to chat with on the phone and provided lots of helpful information. As for the job itself, they offered fair prices, showed up on time, completed the removal efficiently even though there were some tricky aspects of our particular setup, and left the place looking better than it did before! Would be happy to hire them again!

If you are having trouble with a chimney, look no further and contact Adams Chimney. I had a chimney that was leaking water into my basement and later into the fireplace ever since I had moved into the house a few years ago. Half the masonry companies I called refused to even come look at the situation, just didn’t want to get involved. I used another company for a few years that did really superficial work, always sent a different person out and charged a ton, never fixing the issue.

Kurtis and his team were extremely thorough, really worked with me to solve the problem. It was the same crew throughout the project that kept me updated and would seek clarification from me when needed to address the leak.

Now as we are solidly in the rainy season I can see that the work was a success. Absolutely no leak! It feels good to not worry every time it rains this winter. Sadly I have another chimney with the same issue, but I am going to happily re-hire Adams now that I know that they know what they are going and can get the job done right.

I scheduled a chimney inspection as part of a new home sale so I was under a big time crunch. Kurtis and his team were friendly, thorough and explained things to me in a way that made sense. After decades of utilizing a wood stove to supplement our electric heat, we decided to convert to a propane stove. This plan turned into quite a complicated project which required three separate licensed contractors. Our project involved bringing the chimney up to code, finding a propane stove that utilized a back outlet option and placing a larger propane tank along with the proper feed lines. It was critical that we had three contractors that were flexible and willing to work with one another.

If anyone has ever had any work done on their chimney, they have to realize how difficult it is to find a competent chimney contractor. In our research we found Adam's Chimney Specialist, who is both qualified and certified as a Mason. They worked hard to bring our chimney up to current code, while making sure that we were pleased with each step of the installation. The type of stone we needed to match was not available since the quarry was out of business. But match it they did. In addition, our roofing is cement tile which requires extra special care when accessing the chimney. Coordinating everyone's schedule was difficult. At one time Kurtis Adams rescheduled a follow-up project to leave his scaffolding available so that another one of the contractors would have it to complete his work. His crew are hardworking and diligent. We definitely recommended them, gladly rating them at 5. We are contemplating hiring them to face a cement retaining wall next year.

Personally, I would not recommend this company to anyone. They are over priced and take advantage of customers who do not know a lot about chimneys. They told us the best chimney cap would be 1,000 and that is standard. Come to find out, that chimney cap is not standard and probably could be seen from outer space it is so big. We tried to get them to remove it and get our money back, but they told us no. And then we asked if they could take it off for us but they wouldn’t without charging us. This to me, is dishonest and misleading, especially when you are recommending a product to your customers.

My wife and I recently had some chimney work done by Adams Chimney Specialist LLC, and cannot thank them enough for doing a fantastic job. Kurtis and his crew repaired the top portion of our chimney, and also installed an insulated stainless steel liner and a brand new Ventis Woodstove insert. We had a bad creosote problem, but thanks to the crew that is no longer an issue. We now have peace of mind, knowing that we won’t have to worry about a chimney fire. If anyone is considering on having any work done on their chimney/ fireplace give Kurtis a call. He and his crew are great to work with.

Had them come out to do a chimney “clean”. It was not cleaned when they left. When you go to open the damper black soot powder comes down. Their pricing is WAY TOO HIGH compared to other companies. Also they show up with no professional apparel and an unmarked van. They asked for the remaining payment before work started. Before they arrive they ask for a deposit of half down and don’t tell you about the processing fee over the phone but try to explain it’s all in the email we receive, AFTER payment. When Not even an hour later, I sent Curtis and Colby (his nephew who’s a tech) the video of the black soot powder coming down. They were training a new guy and didn’t care to check his work. Don’t be a guinea pig like I was. I have disputed the charges and will not be using them or recommending them to anyone. Save yourself a headache. Businesses and those running it need to be held more accountable.

Adams Chimney Specialist just completed a major, very challenging chimney repair on my 40 year old chimney, essentially making it like new. (May I say, better than new?)

When the technician, Coby, arrived to service my pellet stove and clean my stove pipe, he was right on time and incredibly knowledgeable. Coby was courteous, took great care to lay down sheets from my front door to the stove to keep my home clean, and went above and beyond to ensure I was completely satisfied with his work. We had an excellent experience with Adams Chimney Specialist and highly recommend them. We moved to the PNW 3 years ago. The house we bought had been remodeled with a stone veneer on the chimney. We had different leaking problems and eliminated the roof and skylight as the sources. That left the chimney. Kurtis readily identified the problem and we decided to start from scratch to be sure we could solve the problem. Once the stone was off , dry rot was revealed and Kurtis repaired that.
