Electrical reviews in Vancouver, Washington

We wanted to replace a dining room chandelier and 2 pendant lights in the kitchen with new ones we had purchased. A neighbor recommended that we contact Prairie Electric because they had a positive experience with them in Vancouver in the past. We set up an appointment and Dean came to our house and removed the unwanted lights. Before he installed the new chandelier and pendant lights, he made sure the connections were safe and secure. Throughout the process, Dean let us know what he was doing and why. He was respectful of our wishes to donate the old lights and he kept the old pieces together for us. Now we can recommend Prairie Electric for all electrical needs in Ridgefield or Vancouver.

Bobby came out to check on one of my electrical outlets that was making a random pop noise. He was very professional and thorough. A nice guy to talk to. Very respectful of my floors too by covering his shoes. Thanks Bobby.

We've been a customer of Prairie Electric for over 10 years. They've always done a great job! The electricians that come out are professional, courteous, and helpful. Today we had an issue with a light in our laundry room and Trey had it fixed in no time. If you're looking for an electrician in Vancouver, you should definitely give these guys a call.

Great job, job was done fast and area was kept clean. I had a whole house generator installed.

We had Prairie Electric install a standby generator for our home. Beginning with the bid process everyone was very efficient. I especially liked that this company performed all facets of the work, responsible for all details without sub contractors. Ben and Justin, the electricians, were efficient and organized, wasting no time or motion. When they finished, the place was immaculate, the installation looked and performed perfectly. I would use them again.

Prairie Electric has done excellent work for me for many years, and their recent installation of a Kohler natural gas generator was the latest, and perhaps most appreciated, of their superb jobs! As always, the Prairie technicians were extremely knowledgeable, very courteous, and impressively efficient (and so tidy!). Prairie coordinated seamlessly with the gas and electric utilities, and their price for the work was absolutely reasonable. I give Prairie Electric my highest recommendation!

You can tell he cares about the job! They finished early and cleaned up every thing. I would highly recommend prairie electric!

Oh my goodness. So happy with this company! We were given a window of 30 minutes, which was wonderful. They called to let me know that they were on their way, which was nice. Dean and Jason came out and were so pleasant and so thoughtful. (We have light carpets, and they put on booties without me saying a word. Thank you!). They checked out the problem, explained to us what had happened, and ran to get the necessary part for us. Before they left, they had us check the oven to make sure that all was well. This was up at the top of customer service experiences for us. Prairie is our go-to electrician from here on out. So relieved to have an electrician that we can count on. Thanks Dean and Jason!

Hello, I wish there were a review less than one, but, here is my experience:
I called for help with two small issues on the recommendation of a friend. The servicer, Glen, showed up and took care of the first issue in about 15 minutes, then went to look at my bathroom fan that stopped working. He took out the fan, cleaned it, and hooked it back up. It still did not work, at which time I am told that I will need to purchase a new fan. All good so far. Since he was still short of the mandatory one hour of labor, he said he would go up into my attic to check what would be needed on the return visit. He came back and told me EXACTLY which fan to purchase on Amazon. I did purchase this top of the line fan and made a second appointment to have them return when the fan had arrived. (Cost of first appointment $309).
Visit number two was scheduled after 12 PM the next week. I took a half day off work (value: ~$325 out of my pocket). I am one hour into the arrival window when I receive a call from Dean, the servicer for today. Dean informs me that there is a problem.
1. The fan I was TOLD TO BUY is not right for the ducting in my attic.
My choices: get a converter from my two inch pipe to the four inch pipe. OR, I could have all of the duct work changed out to the four inch pipe. Then Dean informs me that not only does a converter not exist, that even if it did the fan I was told to buy is too powerful, so basically option one is not a choice. (Why did he even mention option one?)
2. The other option is re-ducting that section in my attic, but that would mean obtaining the materials, which he graciously offered that I could go get those parts at Home Depot. He told me the approximate cost, but then added that I would probably pay $320 in labor, $60 for the materials and oh yeah, he says as an after thought, I would need a $150 permit to change out that ducting. Don't forget this requires me to go purchase the parts.
So, let's do the math: First visit- 309 +cost of fan- 165+ cost of parts to do duct work-60+ cost of permit- 150+ cost of labor- 320 + cost for my lost work time- 325= $1329 out of my pocket to fix a bathroom fan.
SOUND REASONABLE?
I am now sitting in my living room frustrated about the lack of either servicer to do their job appropriately. DO NOT recommend. -
I had Prairie electric install electric generators for two of my houses. They are on-time and reasonably priced. They even gave me a discount that I was not aware of after the original quote. The Kohler generator they installed is not that noisy and I am able to control and monitor it from my smart phone using a dedicated app. Thank you, Prairie electric.

We recently had Prairie Electric install a Kohler home generator
for us. Our experience was excellent starting with the initial phone call to discuss our requirements to installation and then follow-up service after the final inspections were completed. Prairie Electric is a most professional electrical contractor, and I would highly recommend their services. Based our recent experiences I rate them a well deserved five stars! -
The team at Prairie Electric were very professional, thorough, and responsive throughout the quote and installation process for our Kohler home backup generator. Their work was done well and on schedule. We were very pleased with the project. We'll be going with Prairie Electric for our annual generator preventative maintenance servicing as well.

Prairie electric exceeded my expectations with their customer service and there ability to diagnose the electrical problem and fix in a timely matter .

I appreciated that I was able to get someone out the same day I called to remove an old flood light fixture from my garage. The electricians were quick and knowledgeable.
I didn't give more than 3 starts because of the price. I had to pay $240 for a 10 min job. It would have been nice to have been given a discounted rate since it didn't take the full hour. -
Prairie Electric was capable and efficient on both visits to repair a severed wire in a light fixture that needed a conduit and wire replacement.

They are the BEST! I have had several jobs that they have completed for me. Everyone has been great to work with. Such nice people, great service, reasonable prices. I never call anyone else. I have 100% trust in their electricians. They do it right every time, even when the jobs are challenging.

We had Prairie Electric install 3 whole-house, automatic transfer generators on our property’s 2 homes and main barn - a big and complex project. The crew was professional, expert, and a pleasure to have on site. They coordinated scheduling with the propane company’s installation of the tanks and final testing. I would recommend them for any electrical project small or large.

Bobby was fantastic. He helped me design my trak lighting so I knew what additional parts to purchase. Then he did the install which was perfect. Very nice man to work with. He left my space neat and clean when he was finished. Also, Dan was so kind and helpful when I called to schedule the initial work. Thanks!
