Home Services reviews in Vancouver, Washington

Great variety of plants with some hard to find plants. Place can get busy at times. Maybe I didn't see everything but it wasn't as big as I was expecting. The indoor shop has a great selection of seeds and anything you'll need in your garden.

I’ve shopped there since moving to Vancouver 2 years ago. Good quality plants but service is lacking. I’ve never had anyone ask me if I needed any help until today. Today as I was walking around looking for annuals an employee walked up and said can I help you find anything… super happy because it sounded like good genuine customer service. Nope, the next words from her were you have 10 minutes to find what you need because we’re closing. I get she was wanting to go home but the approach was really uncomfortable. I left knowing my money will spend just fine elsewhere in the future.

A nice selection of flowers, bushes, trees and most things you’d expect to find in a home garden nursery. I feel like the cashiers are usually friendly but isn’t that the case when people are taking your money 😉; however, the on-the-floor help in the nursery aren’t quite as available, maybe they’re spread too thin. Whenever I do need help I usually have to hunt someone down. Maybe that’s just the nature of nurseries during their busy seasons. There’s a nice little attached store with lots of garden tools, seeds packets, gifts, gadgets, pots, etc. and a nice bathroom is onsite. They carry about 4 different types of soil (bagged and bulk) along with wood chips to either be put in your truck bed or to be delivered as you direct (the soil is excellent quality). There is a nursery much closer to my home but this one has more variety and better prices so it’s become my go-to. Give it a whirl, you just might like it!

We usually love going here, but today it felt non welcoming! We were out looking at the flowers and never received a welcome or ask if we need any help. We make it inside and there were 4 cashiers just leaning against the counters and talking about everything but anything work related. They weren’t out on the sales floor cleaning it up or asking if any customers needed help. We were ready to pay and didn’t know who to go to, to interrupt their conversation to check out. Disappointing customer service all around! Unprofessional and not welcoming at all!

Very helpful staff and many varieties of indoor and outdoor plants! They do have great quality pots and garden products also.

I don't think I have been here a single time when the older lady was working the register where she wasn't absolutely rude and condescending. Today was the last straw and I just left without buying anything. From now on I will just drive across town instead of even considering giving them a penny more.

Very helpful staff and beautifully displayed plant material.

I only have come here for bulk gravel and such, but I have always had a good experience. Their prices are higher than most in the area for bulk material, but their location is prime and sometimes it's worth it.
-
My favorite place for plants, shrubs and trees! Great selection, many varieties, and wonderfully helpful staff close by. Prices are reasonable and plants are healthy.
-
Lovely set up and selection, however we couldn't enjoy any of the nursery because the music was so loud. We had to leave very soon after arriving and find another place to buy plants.

I've been about 3 times they have nice products but the
girls at the check oiy have always been indifferent and rude, they certainly don't cast a positive light on their business -
I went to get some plants and yes- they have an amazing selection but can we talk about the gift shop for a second? Wowsie, such a beautiful selection of gifts. The buyer has really good taste. Here you can find classy yet whimsical gifts. I’ll be shopping here for birthdays and Christmas for my girlfriends for sure.

My neighbor shopped here recently and when she left the store her cell phone fell out of her pocket onto the parking lot. She did not realize this at the time. Her daughter had called her phone later that afternoon and a clerk from YnG answered. The daughter explained that she lived 2 mins away and could get there quickly to retrieve her mother's phone. A man in the back ground was heard saying, "No, we are closed!". It was 2 minutes to 5pm.
Please remind your employees that open until 5pm means just that, OPEN! This man should be ashamed of his response. Most people only have a cell phone, and rely on one to get help when they need it. Considering he wasnt the one who answered the phone, he shouldn't have said anything at all. If he was the manager on duty, all I can say is that I hope his mother never loses her cell phone.
Shame, shame! -
I purchased two kiwi vines tagged as 1 male, and 1 female. They were not! They could not produce fruit, therefore. Yard 'n Garden Land refused to replace one vine to correct their erroneously marked vines. They cost $90 each at the time; as a result, they lost my respect and business. Very bad customer service!

I'm a regular here! My old dog Truffles passed on New Year's Eve. Tonight I was reflecting back on 2024 trying to remember the good times. Since June, Truffles didn't have a lot of opportunity for joy due to mobility issues. I have to thank the wonderful people at the cash register at Yard 'n Garden Land who showered her with love. When Truffles saw that I was pulling into Yard n' Garden Land she went beserk like in her old puppy days and it wasn't just for the treats... she loved the people. Thank you staff for taking the time to love up Truffles....this will always be my go to place for all my landscaping needs! High quality plants, great delivery services and the best helpers!

Absolutely fantastic local nursery & yard supply store. Great selection of plants and supplies. Prices are decent. The staff is wonderful, friendly and knowledgeable. Great place for wood chips, bark and soil.

Your receipt will state that there's a 14-day return policy but that's not true. We bought plants the day before a 2-day 90° heat wave in spring. The staff told us to water the plants daily and keep them on the cold side of our house and then plant them when the heat wave was over and we'd be fine. Out of the 15 plants we bought one mature, larger, more expensive plant started quickly burning up even though the rest were fine. I called and was given a manager on the third day and they told me that once we buy the plants they are our responsibility. No warrantee.
We then visited several other nurseries and found that many had large tables of discounted plants that had started to burn in their pots during the heat wave. We then took advantage of that and bought a bunch more plants for half off at other nurseries. -
Went to check out their indoor plants. Comparable to Home Depot. Lots of good outdoor options and gardening equipment.
