Fantastic experience working with Zillges. It was important to me that we maintained the original brick arch of the fireplace. Steve knew exactly what needed to be done, and we couldn’t be happier. We have had many compliments on the insert.

As I come in from having to try and fix Zillges's work for the second time in two years, perhaps it's therapeutic to share our experience. Zillges did the excavation on our new build. They did such a terrible job backfilling that we constantly get sink holes next to the foundation of our house. This means that we're constantly pulling back the landscaping to try and put more dirt where they left all the stones. We've spent too much money on this to have to constantly fix it. Where is the professionalism?

Lest you think this is simply a disappointed homeowner, even Zillges employees agreed. We had Zillges give us a bid on our landscaping ($30k) and the Zillges rep said that he would have to have someone from Excavation come back out and fix the backfill problems before he could do any of the landscaping. The problem was brought up to Tim who completely ignored it - you read that correctly - he had absolutely no interest in correcting his company's sloppy work. The only recourse we have is to completely ignore them for our future business. The landscaping bid went to a competitor (Landscape Solutions) who did a fantastic job.

I'm sure there are folks who have had great experiences with Zillges, but we are simply not one of them. If their own employees were ashamed of the work, that should tell you something. I could not in good conscience recommend Zillges's excavation services.

We had Zillges put in our new stone patio with a gas grill surround and Sundance spa this past summer. They did a wonderful job, cleaned up well at the end of each work day and fixed one minor problem we had in a timely manner. Beau did a great job with the design and we got exactly what we wanted! I would highly recommend Zillges for any landscaping or outdoor entertainment area job!

I’ve built several houses in the past and complete lots of the work myself, then sell after four to six years. I have worked with several fireplace companies in the Fox Valley area for the building process with fireplace installation. We recently purchased a used home and are in the process of remodeling to make this home our forever home. We had a unique installation process since we needed a high efficiency fireplace installed in our old chimney, it was not deep enough so we put a wood stove on our hearth! Zillges is by far the best, not even in comparison with others we have used. From our sales rep Jim, to the installation crew Steven, they were hands down the best. Jim was there on the other end of the phone answering text messages and phone calls about every little question I had. Please, do not waste your time traveling to other places, let me save you the time, go to Zillges!

I would like to thank Vince, Isaiah and Fred for their hard work today placing landscaping felt and stone today. It was a tough job to get the felt down and secured. And it was done with much consideration to detail.

We had our gas fireplace looked at and cleaned up by Zillges. I want to emphasize the staff that came to my house were 5 star worthy. When they left they were kind and said if you have any problems in 30 days please call us back. That evening my wife used the fireplace and the blower did not work. The next day I called back and JIM answered the phone. What a jerk. That guy should never be allowed to talk to customers. He talked to me like I hadn't owned my home for 24 years. I told him it was probably something that accidentally didn't get plugged back in or something, no big deal. He tried blaming me for having the wrong kind of switch. I have no idea what his problem is but it's a problem. He put me on hold. Then told me he could have someone here in 10 minutes. I said great. The two nice guys came back and it was a loose wire. I hope you have better days JIM
Update: The owner did call me this morning and assured me that this is not how they do business. I really appreciate that they followed up and took care of the situation. Thank you Zillges

Have had several (two) projects done from this family owned local business. Not only are they extremely friendly they are by far the most knowledgeable and professional hardscape providers in the area. Tthey transformed our lake frontage, and just recently, transformed our front yard as well. Prices are great! You will not be disappointed.

So friendly, so thorough and i will be having them back next spring.

Very responsive and did a great job with our spring cleanup.

Did a great job cleaning problem is I always left his money in the mailbox had an agreement with him always paid I even have proof then all of a sudden he just stopped showing up I never asked to stop services and always kept up with payments

Was so happy with last springs service that I would love to have Poo Crew come again when snow clears & possible set up routine monthly service to clean up after my chihuahuas. What a wonderful service this was...

Great person, but unreliable and disorganized. Billing is inconsistent, getting different amounts for monthly services.
Does not show up to clean the yard on a consistent basis. Sometimes going 2 weeks or more before cleanup.
Finally had to cancel services because of these reasons. Upon cancelation, I was kindly messaged back his confirmation, and said he had just been by 2 days ago.
When I went out to clean the yard, I picked up an entire 13 gallon trash bag full of waste that had not been picked up.
I feel as though my money was taken for services not rendered at all.
He may say he was here, but we have cameras that say otherwise.
I'm not saying I wouldn't recommend, but ty it wasn't a good experience for us.
Judge on your own.

We had a dead ash tree in front of our garage. I reached out to several companies to get a quote. Corey called me within two hours to setup a time the next day to come out and look at it. We decided to have them take the tree down and grind the stump. He said it would be about 3 weeks (we weren't in any hurry) because they were that backed up. Corey called 3 weeks later, came out, took down the tree, cleaned up the mess and then came out later to grind the stump. I would use them again!

Horrible experience. This company came to remove a tree two months ago but could not take out the stump due to a mechanical issue with their grinder. No problem. Three weeks ago they came back out IN THE POURING RAIN and the machine didn't work then either. They left and never called back or returned. The flag pole is going in tomorrow morning and guess what is still in the ground - no phone calls or emails back after weeks of calling. DON'T USE this company unless you like half-dobe jobs and following up on adults to see if they did the things you paid them to do.

Great service and responsiveness. I needed a tree cut down in my yard and Ross Exteriors was the only business that came out the day I called them and gave me a bid. They were fast and cleaned up right afterward. Definitely recommend!

After numerous reschedules they finally came out to grind a stump in my front yard. The quote was for stump grinding and cleanup. When they were done grinding they said they had to rush off to grind one more stump before dark. That they would come back the next day with a dump truck to clean the yard and haul off the scrap. They gave me the invoice to pay right away, for the high end of the quoted range. Here was my very dumb mistake, I paid them as requested and then they never came back to clean up the mess. Check was cashed right away, and I have called and texted numerous times over the four weeks since the grinding. They no longer reply to texts, answer their phone, or call back to voice messages. Beware, if you do contract them, do not pay until the job is 100% complete.
I would also ignore the 5 star review from Patricio about 4 months before mine. He is on the stump grinding crew, definitely a name I won’t forget as he asked to use my bathroom, and after he left I had to clean up all over the floor where he missed the toilet. Another dumb mistake by me letting him in to use the bathroom.
My entire experience is full of personal regret here.

I had a bunch of trees that we need to be taken down. They drove an hour on a Saturday and cleaned up nicely, and after they were done, they stacked the wood next to my garage. I had them come back to do my tree trunk removal. I am for sure, requesting their business when I have some more tree removal.

I had an emergency plugged drain at 3:00 on a Sunday of the years 1st snowstorm.
I left a message & sent a text before trying other options.
I was on my way to buy a pump to get the water out of my basement because everyone else I called could only come tomorrow.
That's when Corbett called me back and said he could be there by 5:00 & I wouldn't need the pump.
He was there at 5:00 & the drain was cleared before 6:00.
I will be using Ross Exteriors the next time I'm in over my head with house issues.
And I feel Corbett is a new friend in Oshkosh that I'm glad I know.🤩
