My heat went out late Saturday afternoon, on one of the coldest days of the winter. I called and then sent a tech named Jake out to my house in less than a hour. He went right to work and soon discovered the motor had seized up. He took the time to show it to me and explain what it needed to do.
He had a slight chance of freeing it up and asked if I wanted him to try it. I agreed but it didn’t work.
He then left me 2 space heaters and said he would be back at the latest Monday but would go to the shop and look for a used one. He had taken a picture of it to be sure. He promised to call me either way.
Approx 30 mins after leaving he called and said he had found a brand new one, the exact model I needed. He was headed back to my house to finish up the job.
I couldn’t believe it. He had already put in a long day and easily could have said I’ll come in the morning but he wanted to get the job finished. Honestly, I think he think he knew I was a nervous wreck not having heat over night. I asked him a ton of questions.
He was nothing but pleasant and professional. His customer service should be an example!! I honestly can’t say enough.
Thank you Jake ( wish I would have got his last name) but thanks for caring and for doing an amazing job.

I had the pleasure of meeting Todd, Ben and Anthony. My furnace went out right before freezing weather. Heating & Cooling Solutions was able to come out that same day and return the following day to install a new furnace. All gentlemen were knowledgeable, professional and timely. I would definitely recommend HCS to anyone looking for hvac services.

Very friendly and came out quick to repair. But felt the price $80 labor for 15 minutes of work was pretty steep. Furnace broke again 2 weeks later because the issue was misdiagnosed came out and rediagnosed it for free which was nice. The quote for new repair was 1150 got it done elsewhere for half that

I have been a customer of Heating and Cooling Solutions for a few years now. I own residential and commercial rental properties in Racine WI. They have done new equipment installations and service calls for me.

I recently called them to fix issue at my fiancé's house. I spoke with Kristen. Technician came out the following day to address issue.

Upon arrival, the technician did some troubleshooting and found out our new nest thermostat needed a new wire. (He did not tell her that, but only it was missing a part.) He also did not mention a price to her.

After about 1 hour of work he was done. He invoiced her $179 service fee and then $199 labor/material fee. With both service fee's and taxes , all together we were charged $396.90.

Technician ran a total of 20' of wire (about $10 worth of material). Technician spent a total of 1 hour labor in our home. To be charged $368 plus tax in labor is a robbery.

I called the office same day to discuss. Kristen in the office said she would call me back once he got back to office. She never called back. I called the following day at 10:20am to inquire about charges.

Kristen answered phone call again. She was very defensive the moment she answered the phone. My 1st question to her was " what is included in the first service charge ($179 charge)"

Her response is " our service rate is told to you when you call. we also tell you what is included in that" I then asked her again what's included, and she repeated the same thing.

I'm not arguing their service charge (even though they invoiced me $50 higher than she should have) , I only want to know what's included with that charge.

I then ask about the work he did. Technician ran 20' of wire. He ran wire from thermostat through wall to basement. He then spliced new wire to old wire. He did not run new wire all the way to furnace. I feel if I'm being charged top dollar, work should be done correctly.

After explaining this to Kristen and being interrupted multiple times, she then tells me the cost of owning a business. She then says I can call her boss Todd at 630 am or around 6pm. I ask if she can leave a message for him to call me. She said he will sometime next week because he's so busy.

I own and operate a few small businesses. I understand how businesses need to cashflow to stay open. More importantly I
understand how to listen to a customer and treat someone fairly.

Charging someone $368 in labor for one hour is greed.

(I will post photo later today of work)

This company has the absolute worst after care in the industry. If I could give less than 1 star, they deserve it. All of their technicians quit and went to work for the competitor. How do I know? The technicians told me. I purchased a unit from this company. Almost immediately after the install, I called 3 times to have someone come out and look at it. It wasn’t cooling the house. On the last call, the owner said don’t call me again until you fix the ventilation in your attic. $2k later the ventilation was fixed but the unit still couldn’t cool the house. Because of their poor service, I made calls to their competitor to come out and look at it multiple times. Fast forward 2 years to 2025. I reached out to Heating & Cooling to let them know the compressor went out…am I under warranty? I was told since I didn’t have the checkups done with their company, he wouldn’t honor the warranty. I didn’t have the checkups thru him because he told me not to call back.

Anyway, a competitor in town researched my unit and saw it was registered. They will honor my warranty through Daiken and only charge labor. This company could have done the same as they benefitted from the $12,000 sale. It was too much of a bother, I guess. First Call is a great company to go above and beyond for me when they didn’t even install the unit. I couldn’t be more thankful for a company that honors the “Golden Rule”, especially when it comes to Customer Service. First Call has a customer for life!

Had Juan from First Call out on the 27th to assess why our furnace was not heating the house. After a while he stated that he believed the blower motor needed to be replaced. He also mentioned that the furnace had just gotten to the low side of its lifespan and gave us the option of replacing the part or the entire unit. We opted to replace the part. Juan said he had put it into his office to order said part and that they would contact us soon to schedule installation and that we should expect it to cost $800-$1200 all said and done. I paid Juan $120 for initial assessment. On the 31st, my wife called the office for an update. The office stated that we opted to do nothing and no part was ordered. My wife informed them we did want the part and installation and was told that was fine but it would be $1700. Needless to say we will be going elsewhere to have this service done as this company is either completely disorganized or dishonest, possibly both.
