Malachi quickly started bringing in all the chimney cleaning tools while I showed Cameron the fireplace I was so excited about. Within a couple of minutes, Cameron looked at me and explained, “I could clean this and charge you, but honestly, I don’t recommend using it at all.” He asked to see the basement so he could inspect the back of the fireplace, and pointed out that it was made of sheet metal, had insulation on the pipe, no fireblock, and there were slits in the unit that could easily get blocked and cause a fire risk. Even though the news wasn’t what I was hoping for, I really appreciated Cameron’s honesty and all the helpful information he gave me. For $150, I feel like I got real peace of mind and valuable advice to keep my home and family safe. If we decide to get the fireplace replaced, we’ll definitely call these guys again!
