We have used Gold Star Chimney Cleaning twice now and both times have been excellent. The first time, they came out to Birmingham to clean our chimney and even checked our gutters while they were up on the roof. Malachi was very professional, quick, and left our chimney looking spotless. More recently, we called them again and were happy to have Malachi come out once more. This time, he focused on removing soot and buildup from our chimney cap at the highest point of our house. He was very thorough, making sure to clean everything properly and even tidying up any debris that landed on our plants and landscaping below. Both times, we received a fair and reasonable price for the chimney services. We definitely plan to call them again in the future!

We had a wonderful experience with our recent chimney sweep in Birmingham. After having a less than great job done by another company before, we were so relieved when Cameron came out this time. He was very professional, friendly, and even took the time to chat with our son while working. Now our wood stove is burning and venting just like it should—no smoke or strange smells at all. My wife feels safe and happy in our home again. We will definitely be using this company for all our future chimney cleanings. The service really made a big difference for us!

We recently moved into our new home in Birmingham and needed to have our chimney and fireplace inspected. Malachi from Gold Star Chimney Cleaning came out and did a fantastic job! They did a initial inspection and committed to doing repairs. Never heard back and will not return any calls. I tried calling and emailing for over a month with no response. Very shady ...disrespectful at very least.

Don't bother to call Batts unless you have a big expensive repair that you're willing to pay for, because if you don't they won't show up.

The staff at Batts Chimney was very professional and took the time to explain everything before they started doing the work. Quick, courteous, and professional! I'm having them come back each just to make sure things are in check!

I think these people are scamming people out of money. We too had an inspection done. We paid for it and nothing else been done we called and text many times no response. Save your money and don’t even bother with these people !

After paying Batt's ~$2,500 to do some work to our chimney earlier this year, the dampener broke on its first use.

We contacted Batt's and they didn't respond to any of our calls or emails for over 1 month.

In the meantime, another chimney company inspected it and told us most of their work was out of code and poorly done.

We still haven't been called back from Batt's.

Timely excellent service, reasonable price, did a good job. I will use their services again.

They came and inspected our chimney 4 weeks ago. Charged us a service charge. They said they would send us a quote and order a part which should be in in 3 weeks. They tore apart our fireplace and left it non functioning. After multiple calls and emails, we still do not even have a quote.

After receiving a quote for $7550, decided to get another quote. Totally different outcome. The majority of the recommended work was not necessary. Another company went to the trouble to actually clean the chimney before making recommendations. It is not possible to know the condition of the chimney if you can not see it. They are trying to sell high dollar services. As stated in the next review, this company is a scam and dishonest.

Absolutely great experience. Batts did a thorough cleaning of both my chimneys. They were on time and friendly.

Hard, hard work went into cleaning and repairing our fireplace. Batts chimney service reaput in the work and did an amazing job for a low cost. I really appreciate the pride in their work. Can't say enough about how great they've been.
