Chris did an exceptional job when he replaced our roof! He was very knowledgeable and helped guide us along the way. He was instrumental in helping us choose the best shingles that aligned with our needs, taste and budget. I highly recommend him if you’re looking to get roofing done.

I needed a roof inspection and I contacted Alabama Roof Detectives. Chris was able to meet with me promptly and go through the inspection process. He went over the repairs that I needed and immediately started them. I was very pleased with the work and professionalism as well as the price of the repairs that they provided me.

Alabama Roofing Detectives, LLC is one of a kind!! Chris is congenial, knowledgeable, accomodating and genuine. Characteristics that are rare these days! He helped us pickup the pieces, literally, of our storm ravaged life and move forward. He and his roofing team are efficient and accurate. We hope that his success continues for years!!!

Not a roofing company we would recommend. Claims he's been in business 5+ years but public records state otherwise (closer to 8 months per the State, see image), doesn't seem to know anything about building code requirements as it pertains to roofing. Also doesn't have an actual business office, apparently his business address is also his home, so I blocked the address from the attached image.

We asked a couple of questions to see what he he knew (my family has been in commercial construction for three generations, so we're very well versed on code) and instead of saying he wasn't sure and would find out for us, he chose to give us responses that weren't completely accurate. We feel that it's okay to not know things off the top of your head, we're all human. Be honest and tell people you don't know but you'll find out for them. No one will be mad at you for that. We decided to go with a different contractor because we felt like if he wasn't going to be honest about that, we couldn't be sure what else he would be dishonest about. Chris seems like a great guy and we wish him the best, but needs to learn more about the trade and not be afraid to say "I'm not sure, but I'll find out for you".

When I look for a contractor, I want them to be honest; timely; and have the utmost integrity and passion for their profession. Chris and his company, Alabama Roof Detectives, had all the above in spades! My roof went up quick and looks great!

Several small issues came up, and were immediately brought to my attention by Chris. He offered me several solutions and he kept my costs within my budget.

If you're in need of a new roof, I highly recommend (10/10) the Alabama Roof Detectives!

Chris Grimsley did an excellent job, was on site every day. Finished the job in two days. Crew was diligent to clean up the yard & made sure there were no nails anywhere. Very please & thankful that we chose Alabama Roof Detectives, LLC to do the job. Chris is a very good Christian gentleman & did all things as unto the Lord. GOD sent us a good man that had a servant's spirit spirit.

Chris and his team are very professional and are experts in their field. Chris exceeded in our expectations with keeping constant contact as the work progressed. He is personal and friendly. We love the final outcome of the removal of LOTS of trees and new roof. Next project are new gutters with Chris. I highly recommend this company!!!

Alabama Roof Detectives went ABOVE AND BEYOND what was asked/expected!! They did an absolutely beautiful job! Chris and his team were so curteous and mindful in everything they did. They even returned the next day to make sure thery had not left any trash anywhere! We have an older home, and by the time our roof and gutters were completed, we started having people email , call and even stop in front of the house asking what offer we would take for the house. I am late posting but let me tell you how good God is. I looked up several structural specialists and decided to use this company. Mr. Brian was such an amazing man. He is definitely a people person who really cares about helping others. He was a great listener and was very thorough in explaining what was needed. I am so happy because he didn't take advantage of me and was about his business. He assessed the situation and the next thing I know, my crawl space was cleared secured. He also made sure my deck was secured by replacing the support posts. Honesty and trust is very important when it comes to this type of work. Thank you so much.

Very positive experience with Michael Thrasher. He was courteous and professional. They were recommended by an engineer. They took the time to explain everything they were doing and made sure we understood and we're comfortable with the solution.
They communicated well, showed up on time, completed the work on time. Went out of their way to make it as pleasant and convenient as it could be. Cleaned up well after the work was completed.amd made sure we were happy with the work before leaving.

Southern Home structural waterproofed my crawl space in 2020, they did an amazing job. 5 years later I called asking them to install a new filter, they picked up the phone and replaced the filter. It’s hard to find contractors that will show up and do what they say they are going to do especially 5 years later after the original work. I highly recommend them to help with your structural issues. Waterproofing my basement solve all of my moisture issues, builders shouldn’t build houses in the south without waterproofing the crawlspace.

Jason Cowan came out today (for no charge) to check on a few areas in our home that caused us concern. He was very kind and professional. He explained the issue and assured us of no foundational issues. He was wonderful! This is actually the second time we’ve used this company. You can trust them to be honest!

We had an excellent experience with Brian of Southern Home Structural Specialist when he came to inspect our home and crawl space. He conducted a thorough examination and took the time to explain everything in detail. It was clear he wasn't just there to make a sale—he genuinely cared about the integrity of our home and our peace of mind. His professionalism and honesty really stood out. We would highly, highly recommend them to anyone needing a foundation inspection or repair.

Jerome Cook and Mr. Brian were the individuals I worked with through this company. I didn’t rate 5 stars only because my experience may not be through with them as the work was completed yesterday (steel support and drain system), and I intend to use them in the future for other services. This alone does not leave room for me to share about the structural quality of their work, although I truly feel as if all will be well.

I can, however, share the pleasant experience I had with them. This is me and my husband’s first home and we noticed constant settling that worried us. While most companies tried to save me money at the cost of quality, and others clearly trying to take advantage of us newbies, this company came in and reassured me that my problems were not as severe as others made it out to be. They restored my faith in my home, and made the adjustments that they saw needed to be addressed BEFORE problems could occur. I am a curious and slightly anxious individual when it comes to things I’ve put money into, and my home is precious to me. I felt heard, well taken care of, and was very satisfied with Jerome and his team, and Brian as well. Might I add that Jerome spoke to his team in their own language many times which is something I don’t often see in a multi-ethnic work group. I am beyond pleased with their honesty, their hard work, and I have faith that I’ll trust in the product in time. Now to wait until it rains and watch the product work!!

I worked with Matt and Brian on some concerns I had with my house. They were incredibly friendly and professional. I can't recommend them enough after my experience with them!

Brian did a thorough determination on the scope of work needed to address our drainage issues, and did not make recommendations that exceeded our needs. Drew and his crew worked quickly and thoroughly to complete the job faster than expected. Only had light rains so far, but very pleased with results at this point.

I had Matthew Caudle come out to my house and take a look at the moisture and mildew issues I was having in my crawlspace. He showed me some results of crawlspace encapsulation hobs they have completed and how his company could resolve my issue. I got a very reasonable quote that day and asked when they could start. He said within 2 weeks. That was 9 days ago.

Michael Thrasher came to the house with his crew yesterday right on time and started our crawlspace encapsulation project. He let me know what to expect and how long it would take to complete. The first day they went around the entire inside parameter of the crawlspace walls adhering the vapor barrier. They also sprayed our floor joists for mold that was already growing because of the high humidity levels and low air flow.

Today the team arrived right on time again and promptly got to work. They laid down the vapor barrier to the floors, put in a dehumidifier and plumbed the drainage lines outside of the crawlspace away from the house. The walls were all sealed to the floor leaving no gaps for any water penetration. They finished off by making me a new crawlspace door and sealing any gaps with foam and silicone.

It looks pristine and white in my crawlspace now and I have no doubt it will accomplish what it is meant to do, by keeping moisture levels down, so I don't get a repeat of mold and mildew growing in my basement.

Michael, my sincere thanks, to you and your team, for an extraordinary job. I could not be happier with the job you guys did.

Had our foundation repaired and was absolutely thrilled with the results! Crew leader Michael Thrasher got work done and completed in a timely manner, made sure everything was cleaned up everyday before they left, and was super kind! Highly recommended!!
