Reviews of local pros in Eagle River, Alaska

Thank you Essential! From the quote and proposal all the way through the demolition, addition, rebuild and finish these guys were great. We asked them to help remodel a laundry room and add an egress window, refinish the drywall and trim out the interior casing. They were very courteous, prompt and kept the rooms and floors clean throughout what could have been a dirty process. Would definitely hire these guys again when it is time to remodel the bathroom and kitchen.

Scott and his team at Essential Services did great work on a demolition and framing job for a new garage door. They were professional, courteous and their communication was fantastic. I will 100% consider call them for future jobs.

This is a quality business. I engaged them for six tasks to bring our 50-yer old home up to code.

Owner Scott Cook is knowledgeable, responsive and honest. His two-person team (Jordan and Joel) really know their craft, working quickly, efficiently, asking us questions before taking some actions, and kept us appraised of their progress.

All work was completed in two days and we are very happy with the results.

I've had the pleasure of working with Scott and his team on a kitchen and multiple bathroom renovations. Their desire to treat their customers right is refreshing. Looking forward to the next project!

I've worked with Scott, Joe, and Jordan from Essential Property Services a few times over the past year. Each time, the work was done professionally and in a timely manner. Not to mention, they are probably the friendliest property service folks in the state.

Scott went above and beyond to ensure my home was move in ready for my family and safe for my little children. I would completely trust Scott and his crew to do anything I needed. Scott’s crew were amazing. They were very down to earth and took every concern of mine seriously. Most contractors and their crew I have met in the past are very condescending. Joe was the guy on the ground at my home and did an excellent job renovating my stairs and keeping me informed. I knew without a shadow of a doubt that I was being taken care of. I would totally buy this man a beer! I can’t say it enough; totally recommend Scott and his crew for anything you need done.

Great business, great work!

Scott came and looked at the part of my home needing repair. In addition to what I wanted done he recommended additional steps to fully complete the repair we needed. The work was done quickly and completely, and now it looks better than I had hoped! Good work, fair price, no cutting corners; what more can you ask for? Essential Property Services is now on speed dial!

Scott and his team have been answer to my prayers! A contractor who actually wants to work and make money. Which has been so hard to find here in AK. He is quick to respond. He sets clear expectations. He thinks outside the box to help my clients solve any problem they may have. He communicates!! Thank you for being a breath of fresh air for my business and my clients, Scott!

We were selling our 4plex and needed some work done per the inspection report that had a tight deadline. Our realtor suggested Scott and boy am I glad he did! He was able to meet us for a quote and then arranged his schedule to get the work done before our closing date. He sent pictures daily on their progress, which was amazing. Work was top notch and I highly recommend them.

I had a fantastic experience with Essential Property Services! From start to finish, Scott and his team was incredibly friendly, professional, and easy to work with. They made sure to communicate clearly throughout the project and were always respectful of my time and space. I had some windows that were not installed properly, not a glamorous job but they took it on and gave it the same care as you would anything else.
One thing that really stood out was how clean and organized the work site was. Every day, they left the area spotless, which made a big difference in keeping things stress-free and comfortable.
Most importantly, the craftsmanship was top-notch. You can tell they take pride in their work—every detail was handled with care and precision. The final result exceeded my expectations, and I couldn’t be happier.
Highly recommend Essential Property Services to anyone looking for reliable, skilled, and courteous professionals!

Scott and his team are some of the best contractors I have ever worked with! I used them to completely remodel a destroyed rental unit in a property where I also live. Scott is a very ethical and honest business owner. He communicated clearly and helped us understand the total project, to include where we could save money and meet our budget. He cares about quality and safety. His team is highly professional - we totally trusted them with full access to our property, even when we were not home. Essential Services was a critical part of getting our small rental business up and running and we will use them again for all our property upkeep.

Can’t say enough good things about Scott and his team, I had a bit of an emergency and they were able to complete my project in a timely matter and make it look flawless. Really appreciate the hard work and will definitely be using them in the future.

Scott's team was able to come out repair our leaking sink and a dead garbage disposal in short order. They went out of their way to help us get the right parts and checked in later to make sure all was still in working order. Great interactions and great team!

Scott and his crew are awesome. Professional in every aspect. They completed a kitchen remodel, walk-in shower, flooring, and smaller jobs for a pending sale on our home. Thank you Scott, and thank you to your outstanding crew.

As a realtor, I deal with a lot of homes that need reliable handyman and professional contracting work done whether it's for prepping a sellers home for resale or for handling repairs for a buyer, and Essential Property Services never letting me down has definitely led to them being my go-to company for all professional contracting work that a home could need to get it into tip-top shape for resale from kitchen/bathroom remodels to electric and everything in between. I've been working with Scott for years and I'm very grateful to be in business with him. He makes me look good in front of my clients whenever I refer his work for them because he always does such a good job for such reasonable rates. If you are looking for a reliable contractor with reasonable rates and who can get the job done right the first time, then look no further because you found him! Thanks for all the great work, Scott!

Contacted Essential Property Services for a shed in our backyard. They have exceeded our expectations on a complex build as there was power and heat and a deck included. They worked in the Alaskan winter and did a great job. We will use them again for handyman work or custom work. Great crew and quality workmanship!

Scott Cook at Essential Home Services has been wonderful to work with! From the beginning he’s been responsive, kind, and clearly knows his stuff!!
