VMS was great to work with and really helped me and my tenants out during the massive wind storm. Richard and Tony worked crazy hours and went above and beyond any expectations, getting us back online after having everything freeze up. Prices were reasonable, and work was done extremely well and professionally. Quick to respond as well!

Left a messsage for service. Shortly after received a call to inquire as to what type of service that I needed. They quickly coordinated same day service without charging an unnecessary premium. The service tech then called to verify conditions and completed the requested work. After completing the work I received a call regarding a recap and the bill came in at a very reasonable and appropriate cost for the actual work required to service my furnace. I used google to find this business and followed the ratings to which I was not disappointed and I even felt compelled to add this review due to their quality customer service from call to billing. Above and beyond!! Very happy! We had a Toyo serviced and there was a dangerous mistake made by someone who is no longer part of the company. These guys went above and beyond to fix the problem and make it right. They were professional, trust worthy, and friendly. Came to the house and fixed the original mistake and then helped with a replacement. Would definitely recommend them for future Toyo work! Thank you!

My furnace went out, and I was without heat for 2 days and in a bad spot. Sean, the owner came to my house the same day I called him. Came out to the house after hours (didn’t charge me extra for after hours work) and had the part I needed at his shop. Even though he had to go get it and come back he only charged me for the part and 1 hour.

DAN HARDY AND HIS SON OVER AT HARDY HEATING QUOTED ME 500$ MORE FOR THE SAME PART, twice as much in labor, and tried to trick me in to getting a 6000$ furnace tellin me my furnace was not fixable before called Sean.

Sean was professional and trust worthy and I would recommend him to anyone in Matsu-Palmer area. Made me feel like he would have done anything to get my furnace fixed the same day. Thank you Sean

We have used Valley Mountain Services 3 times on 3 different properties. The latest repair resulted a discussion about what needed to be completed and what was completed and a follow up discussion on costs. I am extremely pleased with how rapidly and easily this was resolved. Far to often a business falls short of good customer service. In this case, Valley Mountain Services provided fantastic customer service. Amazon is known for its stellar customer service, and I can put Valley Mountain Services in the same company as Amazon. Braxton came out to Girdwood to service and clean our gas fireplace that had not been serviced for a few years. He was professional, friendly and knowledgeable. He cared enough to take the time to make sure I knew how to operate the fireplace, was thoughtful to show me how to shut off the unit in an emergency and what to do if the pilot light went out. His extra care and eye for detail is very appreciated and impressive. Braxton obviously has pride in his work and we are very thankful for his above and beyond service! 5 stars! Will definitely use their services in the future.

My heat was out in my house, I made the call at 7am, and a technician was at my house working on the problem within an hour. Professional, quick, and reasonably priced. I cannot recommend them more if you're on the fence for whom to give your business to.

I’ve been using Valley Mountain Services for nearly ten years for my HVAC service and, since they’re now part of Alaska Fire and Flue, I’m also using them for my wood stove maintenance. I’ve been very happy with all of the service they’ve provided and will continue using them. Everett exemplified five-star customer service during our most recent appointment. Thank you!

Valley Mountain Services / Alaska Fire & Flue – Avoid This Company

I hired Valley Mountain Services for a boiler maintenance check. The technician stated the system was operable but reported “small leaks” and suggested that tank replacement could be justified. I requested a repair estimate before scheduling further work. The visit cost $398.

Despite paying my invoice on 11/06 and following up on 11/09 and several times afterward, the company never provided an estimate. Each call involved staff struggling to even locate my information, and every time I was told they would “get it to me.” They never did.

After two months with no estimate—and being told repairs were needed—I hired another company. Their full assessment found no active leaks, no needed repairs, and only signs of an old, long-repaired issue. In other words, the initial report from Valley Mountain Services was incorrect.

I requested a refund, since I had to pay for a second maintenance visit solely because Valley Mountain Services failed to follow through. I later learned from a former employee that their HVAC division was shutting down at the time of my service, meaning they accepted the job and my payment while knowing they weren’t fully operational.

When I requested a refund again, I was told “there isn’t a refund available and there’s nothing we can do” and that they “can’t confirm” whether a leak exists—despite another company confirming none.

There was something they could have done:
– Send the owner or a qualified tech to verify their original assessment
– Provide an accurate estimate at any point
– Communicate honestly about issues within their HVAC operations
– Show basic professionalism or customer care

None of that happened. Every interaction—whether with Valley Mountain Services or Alaska Fire & Flue (which I later discovered are connected)—was dismissive and unprofessional.

I have since requested an itemized list of what was actually performed during the initial maintenance visit, as their charge was significantly higher than the second company’s.

I strongly recommend avoiding Valley Mountain Services / Alaska Fire & Flue. There are far more reliable, communicative, and reputable HVAC providers in the Mat-Su Valley.

Everett was very professional, thorough and kind. Answered all my questions and provided top knotch customer service! My fireplace looks like new and now works with 1 flip of the switch! I would definitely recommend Valley Mountain Services for all your annual fireplace cleanings and inspections.

This use to be a great, honest company. Unfortunately it changed ownership. Thought I would still give them a try. Unfortunately it didn't go well. Guy came to service my furnace (the owner) took 15 minutes and did nothing but take pictures of my furnace. Claimed I needed a new furnace....$5000-$10000. Then Claimed the furnace would make it through the winter???? Needless to say, I will be using another HVAC company.

For one this is my father's business he has been serving alaska for over 40 years he is a coast guard vet and can fix just about anything not just refrigeration

I couldn’t have asked for better. Woke up to no hot water. Person over the phone was fantastic. Communication was great, showed up the same day and fixed our water heater and even gave us tips on how to maintain it. Definitely recommend!!!
