Constraction reviews in Gilbert, Arizona

Our experience with most building contractors had been “horrible at best” until we worked with Erik Helm and the team at C&E Builders. This is how an experience should be when you hire a contractor to work on your home. We installed a large, four-panel sliding door in the rear of our house which required removal of a French door, fireplace and window. The challenge was that we wanted to physically remove 3 of 6 weight-bearing pillars on our patio and replace the remaining three wrapped-stucco pillars with new, modern, sleek steel. This was no problem for C&E, and the final combination of the new door, with tongue and grove ceiling, all new lighting, Sonos audio and no pillars transformed a dated, builder stock patio into a spectacular outdoor living space. What I most appreciated was that from start to finish the communication was strong. I understand that our job was not the only one that C&E was working, but Erik was always accessible and accountable if we had a question or concern. The crew started on time, showed up every day, and if they were going to be even 15 minutes late, Erik let us know in advance. We had a schedule, a plan and a budget, and the job finished within spec to the final detail. Workers were specialists, and each one knew what his role was each day. There was no standing around or down time - the total job operated like a well-oiled machine. Each morning Erik was personally on site to survey the job, provide us with a status report and answer questions. They even tolerated my father-in-law standing around the job all day, critiquing the work and making suggestions. At the end of the day, the work was excellent, the price was appropriate, and the experience was low stress. We were so happy with C&E that I am already having Erik quote us for two more projects.

We are so happy with the work of C&E Builders!

Our first impression of C&E Builders was from seeing them on our street as they were working on a remodel for our neighbor on their backyard updates and I was impressed with how their staff conducted themselves with neighbors. They were friendly and kept our street clean.

We had remodeled our backyard 2 years earlier and we were not happy with some of the shortcuts our previous contractor had used that we questioned during the process. On a whim, we had Erik look at our backyard and he said the same things we had been feeling. After talking with us for just a few minutes, he brought over samples within a couple days that were beautiful and created the vision we had hoped for with our previous contractor.

We quickly signed the quote and due to a delay on another project, they were able to start right away. Erik and his team were able to install a sump pump, fix the waterline tile, stone, countertops, correct the previous mistakes of the previous contractor and really make our backyard stand out! Erik suggested the LED fireplace versus our previous gas fireplace that was not attractive and a danger with kids. The finished product is so much better than we envisioned.

When there was an issue with a countertop, Erik apologized for the delay, but wanted it to be right. In the past, contractors we've had have tried to gloss over imperfections, but not Erik. He treated our backyard like his own and really went above and beyond.

The whole process was quick and his team was always prompt, efficient and cleaned up every day. We were very impressed with his team as you could tell they really took pride in their work and did it right the first time. They were the best we have ever had the pleasure to work with at our home. We highly recommend C&E Builders and our only wish is we would have found them earlier and they would have done our whole backyard from start to finish.

Erik and his entire team were amazing from start to finish. They worked fast, efficient and did not sacrifice quality to do so. I am more than pleased with how our Billagio resort backyard turned out, and could not recommend Erik and his guys more. Satisfaction guaranteed!!

We have had our pool for a little over a year and still very pleased with C&E Builders. From the design stage, Eric and Jose did an amazing job working up a plan for our backyard which looked incredible. After award, they started almost immediately and the C&E crew worked quickly and efficiently to get the project completed in a timely fashion. Jose and Eric were out at the site almost every day to check on the progress and ensure everything was going smoothly. Any warranty concerns after the job was completed have also been addressed super fast with no issues at all. Overall I highly recommend Christa, Erik, Jose and the rest of the team for any pool or backyard projects!

I found C&E after they did a beautiful remodel on my friends house. I was managing an entire reno on a new house I bought myself but knew the exterior project would need a highly experienced team. Within 90 days C&E remodeled my entire pool, adding to it in size and adding a spa and lounge areas, along with all new pool equipment and materials. They demo'd a large portion of our desert yard and expertly graded everything to install a beautiful pickleball court for us with landscaping surrounding and modern fencing to match the existing style of the house. Their team was so polite, friendly, efficient and clean that we used them to take on the front yard project as well. They installed several thousand square feet of pavers to the dirt driveway. They also installed tile and limestone in several areas for me (including helping inside the house when my tile guys were running behind). They brought in trees, plants, lights, irrigation, pots, etc to both the front and the back for the finishing touches. We were so impressed with C&E at every turn. Our new house is stunning and the design and craftsmanship now does justice to the beautiful mountains surrounding us. I can't recommend this team enough!

Erik did a project around my pool over 13 years ago. With the AZ sun and heat it was time to renew and refresh. Erik did such an outstanding job the first time that I wanted him to do this job again. I checked my records and found his original invoice. As this was not his primary business anymore, he took on this job because I was a repeat customer. This speaks to his character and how he values his customers. His crew once again did an outstanding job. They arrived on time, were clean and courteous and most of all were precision detail quality focused contractors. Yes I would rehire him and his crew again!!!

We recently completed a full backyard renovation with C&E that included landscaping, hardscaping, and a complete pool remodel—and we couldn’t be happier with the results. From start to finish, the quality of work was outstanding. Every detail was executed with care and precision, and the team’s craftsmanship truly shows in the final product.

Communication throughout the project was smooth and consistent. Any questions or concerns were addressed quickly, and we always felt informed and involved in the process.

The end result has completely transformed our outdoor space. It’s not only beautiful but also incredibly functional—a perfect spot for relaxing or entertaining. We’re beyond pleased and would absolutely recommend this team to anyone considering a backyard renovation.

C&E is the real deal!!! If you are looking to make your backyard/pool/spa a masterpiece these are your guys. Erik is awesome. I highly highly recommend. Jose is an exceptional designer. And all Erik's crew are top notch. I had an extensive backyard project with them and everything went well from communication, to plans, to just getting it all done with absolute professionalism. Again if you are looking to make your backyard really pop and above and beyond this is your contractor.

SO GLAD WE SELECTED C&E BUILDERS!! They did a phenomenal job at transforming our outdoor living spaces into a paradise! Friendly and reliable crews! Quality workmanship! I would definitely use them again for any home additions/remodels or landscaping needs!! Thank you, Christa, Erik and all of the employees that contributed to our landscaping project!

I couldn't be happier with the incredible job C&E Builders did on our pool and outdoor living spaces. From start to finish, their professionalism, attention to detail, and dedication to quality were truly impressive. The pool turned out absolutely stunning, with every feature designed and built to perfection. Even better than I had ever imagined.

The outdoor spaces they created are equally amazing - perfect for relaxing, entertaining, and enjoying time with family and friends. C&E Builders worked efficiently, kept us informed throughout the entire process, and made sure everything was done exactly to our specifications and expectations.

They even helped us correct an interior courtyard and water feature previously done by another contractor whose work was poor and substandard

I spent a lot of time searching for the right company to handle our pool and outdoor spaces. I have a background in design and was very determined to get the results I wanted. I found it with C&E Builders. If your looking for a company that delivers top-notch craftsmanship and exceptional customer service, I highly recommend C&E Builders. They transformed our backyard, outdoor living spaces and interior courtyard into a dream oasis, and we couldn't be more grateful

Thank you C&E !!

Outstanding Experience with C&E Builders

From start to finish, their team was professional, attentive, and detail-oriented. Really great crew—who truly care about their work. Craftsmanship exceeded expectations, creating a beautiful, high-quality outdoor space.

The project was completed on time and within budget. We received 7 bids on the project and while C&E wasn’t the lowest bid, their consultation, communication, craftsmanship and care made every cent a worthwhile investment.

Thanks to Erik and team, we now have a backyard oasis to enjoy for years to come. Truly the BEST contractor & team I’ve ever worked with.

I can’t say enough about C&E—they go above and beyond! Highly recommend!

My wife and I did a total back yard renovation in Scottsdale….after a few weeks and phone calls of feeling out contractors we decided to go with ce builders. Erik, Jose and the rest of the crew were always on top of things and extremely informative whenever I had a concern. We constantly get compliments on our back yard and overall we are very happy with the final product. We would not hesitate to use them again or refer them to others.

Erik and his crew remodeled our backyard and pool with excellence. He was very efficient, straight, and gave wise advice on the front-end, to make the best use of our money. The team that he employs is highly skilled, pays attention to detail and aims to please. We had a few changes along the way, and Erik treated us fairly on those, He and his team stayed with it at the end, until everything was right. The finished product is beautiful -- like a resort. We're really enjoying spending time with friends and family out there. We would recommend

Eric and his crew did an amazing job remodeling our Scottsdale home and completely reimagining our backyard and pool. They did more than promised, had great communication and earned our business in a 2nd home.

C & E Builders is an excellent company & we could not be happier with the results of our backyard projects that included pool reconstruction & new decking design. They are wonderful to work with, professional & responsive. We give them our thumbs up & recommend them highly!!

Erik and his team did a fantastic job with our backyard remodel. Starting with the design and through each step in the process they kept us informed and accommodated all our changes mid-project. They were professional, responsive and delivered the best quality. Overall, C&E exceeded our expectations and we’ll be using their services again.

Erik had interest and showed urgency in remodeling our front yard fountain from the first call we had with him. Their customer service is excellent with hard working, professional and very friendly employees. Every employee had their job to do and did it perfectly. We were so impressed by their accountability and quality of work that we had them remove rock and they did new stucco on a very large wall and our mailbox, as well as adding limestone along the top making it match the house. Everyday there was something new for them to do from 7am-4pm and their attention to getting it done with incredible detail didn’t go unnoticed. They always cleaned up our property the best they could while under construction and when they completed the project, it looked 100% better than it did before they started.

Jose worked hard with our HOA to have our project approved which wasn’t easy with all the rules and hours he put in to make it perfect. He created a beautiful waterfall reflective fountain with a fire pit off centered in the middle and surrounded by natural rock with lighting. Also, he created the perfect ambience lighting for our landscaping at night.

We highly recommend hiring them and we are hoping to work with them again on our backyard. Everyday we look out our front door and thank C&E Builders for our beautiful fountain and we are still amazed how it all happened! Thank you, C&E Builders you were all amazing to work with the entire time!

We found Erik and C&E builders after months of frustrating appointments with other pool builders. He was our 11th estimate. Our backyard posed some challenges with a large water basin that all previous pool builders interviewed had a hard time navigating and instilled little to no confidence. Erik and Jose came out and looked at our backyard and explained exactly what they could do. Erik was confident and happy to take on our project. We moved forward with him and could not be happier with the end product. He captured our vision and made it something more than we could have hoped for. Erik was fair, communicative and so easy to work with. His crew was always happy to accommodate last minute changes and would go above and beyond to meet our needs. Erik definitely helped us get the most for our money. We could recommend Erik and C&E builders to everyone seeking a custom pool build. 10/10.

100% a 5 Star review for C&E Builders. I Kept waiting for something to go wrong with our COMPLETE backyard renovation, it didn't happen! They completed it on time, just in time to "WOW" for the holidays. There was nothing that was not done completely right the first time. Workers were the best we've ever seen, loyal, honest and committed. I would recommend Erik, Jose and crews to anyone looking for an update. We entrusted their vision and it is honestly beyond our expectations. Not a detail was missed. Everyone that has seen our backyard wants their number.
Thank you C&E!

We had a great experience working with C&E Builders on our remodel. Eric Helm was professional, responsive, and delivered top-quality work. He listened to our ideas, offered helpful suggestions, and kept everything on time and on budget.

His subcontractors were excellent—always respectful, cleaned up after themselves daily, and maintained a tidy workspace. The craftsmanship and attention to detail really showed in the final result. We’re thrilled with how everything turned out and would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a skilled and trustworthy contractor.

If you have been searching for a pool builder, stop right here and call C&E Builders, we used them to build out our pool + backyard and we couldn’t recommend them enough! The entire process was so smooth from start to finish. Erik, and his team (shoutout to Jose) were beyond professional, fast and the workmanship is top quality. My husband and I always say one of the best decisions we ever made was working with them…we are SO happy with our yard and it’s all thanks to C&E!
