Tree reviews in Mesa, Arizona

Just had out for tree thinning and a removal. They did exactly what they said they would do and did the work for a fair price!

I have used this company several times and they are always courteous, professional and on time. They do a good job and have reasonable prices.

Burt is amazing! No price gouging and he knows SOO much. He is happy to answer all of your questions (and I had a LOT of questions). Definitely a great company!

Arizona Urban Arborist is very knowledgeable when it comes to Tree Care, Tree Trimming and Tree Removal in Mesa. They are very professional and do a great job.

I've had this company now three years in a row to prune my large sweet acacia trees, they do an excellent job! The crew was very polite and professional, I also have 3 citrus trees in and around these acacias and they didn't get a scratch from all the falling limbs, very impressive.

These guys are FANTASTIC and affordable!!! They took out a big Palo Verde tree for me and did a great job!!
I definitely recommend them and will be calling them again!!

This is a great company. They know trees. Two years ago we lost a big part of our tree in monsoon season. We decided to use AZ Urban Arborist after that and the following monsoon season, our tree held up. But the real reason I love this company is because they take care of their customers. Today, we had them out to prune our tree and get it ready for the year ahead. We had some specific requirements for our tree and how we wanted it pruned to get the shape we want. Unfortunately, it wasn't pruned the way we discussed. When I talked to the company about it, I was expecting them to deflect the issue. However, they owned their mistake and were eager to make it right. They even offered to stop by to add some free fertilizer to my tree. Mistakes happen, we all know that...but how you handle your mistake says a lot about a person and a company. I really appreciate the way they chose to handle the situation. They could have lost a customer today but instead they gained loyalty from a customer. I 100% recommend this company.

These guys did a great job at trimming up and shaving the base of my canary date palm. They answered right away when I called, were strait forward and professional. They also provided an extremely reasonable quote for the job and were able to get me scheduled and completed within a day! I will absolutely use Arizona Urban Arborist going forward for any of my tree maintenance, I will also be recommending them to anyone that needs tree work done.

My story is a bit different...PLEASE use this company!

Burt Griner took time for my long standing issue with a tree that my HOA has refused to deal with. I had offered to pay to have this tree removed the HOA refused to allow me to do this at least 2x.

Finally, I decided to hire an Arborist on my own to give me a professional accessment. And with every intention of hiring his company to manage to job once I received approval from the HOA.

Burt reviewed multiples of photos and detailed out all of the issues with the tree, then provided me proper terminology/language to once again write a letter to the HOA, again my offering to pay to have this tree taken care of.

To my surprise, the HOA landscaping company showed up unannounced and took the tree down with a promise of taking care of stump grinding within the next 2 weeks.

Burt....Thank you so much for your personal attention to my tree issues.

“Wow!! Anthony and his team at Arizona Urban Arborist are absolute lifesavers! 🌳 After a massive part of the tree in my front yard fell in the dust storm, they came out SO fast — I couldn’t believe how quickly they responded. From start to finish, they were prompt, professional, and so courteous. They didn’t just remove the tree — they went ABOVE and beyond to make sure everything was safe, cleaned up, and looking great. It’s rare to find a team that works this hard and genuinely cares. If you need tree services, don’t look anywhere else — these are your people!! Two thumbs up!”

We had a great experience working with Burt and Anthony to have a tree removed from our backyard. The crew was also friendly as well! Great work at a competitive price.

Anthony came out to give me a more than fair quote and then returned to trim and remove a tree as discussed, way back in May. I truly wanted to see if the work him and his crew did were going to stand-up against the brutal summer and incoming monsoon and they sure did!!
Less than two weeks ago there were winds strong enough to rip a Palo Verde up and out of the ground next door to me, but my trees didn’t even drop so much as a branch. Can’t recommend Arizona Urban Arborists enough!!!
They’re professional, on-time, knowledgeable, clean, efficient and kind - I’ll be using them in the future and recommending them to everyone I know.
Thank you guys for being some of the best in the Valley 🫶🏽 My trees dance every storm now 🕺🏽🌳

This company did an amazing job trimming my large Arizona ash. Many months later after the long extra hot summer my tree was struggling. The owner stopped by and told us how to care for the tree in the excessive heat. I highly recommend company and will call them for help with any tree that I care about.

You don’t see many companies with a perfect 5 star Google rating. This company has one. They have it for a reason. Burt knows everything about trees and he’s happy to share what he knows with you.

Unfortunately we needed to have our huge mesquite tree removed. Jose and his crew showed up and took care of us. They were friendly, outgoing, fast, efficient, and left the area around where the tree was cleaner than when they got here.

If you need tree advice, pruning, or removal you can’t possibly go wrong by hiring Arizona Urban Arborist. I know I will hire them again and I will recommend them to anyone who asks me for a referral.

Anthony stopped by to do a consultation on a sickly tree that we wanted to save. His communication before the visit was flawless. He spotted the problems immediately, then spent quite some time giving valuable information on what was causing the issues and how to correct them and advised on details we hadn't even thought of. He gave some advice on another shrub that was having a hard time even though we hadn't called about it. Overall, he was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful beyond the call of duty. We'd happily recommend Anthony and Arizona Urban Arborist without reservation.

We had an old mesquite tree that was quite tall and leaning towards our house. It also had a lot of above ground roots and dropped a lot of junk in our pool. We couldn't decide if we should cut it down or trim it. We decided to look for a company online for advice. We found Arizona Urban Arborist that had the best reviews. We called them and set up an appointment with Anthony, Anthony came out and evaluated the tree. He gave us 2 estimates, one to trim it up to take weight off of it and a second estimate to cut it down. I initially decided to just trim it and scheduled the job. The morning of the job I changed my mind and decided to have it cut down. I then changed my mind again. Anthony was very patient with me and offered to come out before his crew arrived to help me make the decision. He went over everything with me again, the pluses and minuses of both approaches. With his expert advice I finally decided to cut it down. His crew arrived a couple of hours later. They were very impressive and friendly. They had the whole tree down and ground out the stump in a very short time period. They definitely deserve my 5 stars.

Anthony was easy to communicate with and Jose and crew did an excellent job taking down a big Palo Verde in our front yard. Good price, good company.

Arizona Urban Arborist are GREAT. Came out exactly on time. Very professional. Used layman’s terms to make it easier for a senior citizen to understand. Quick. Nice to work with. See he has proven himself many times from all the great reviews. Won’t be disappointed with choosing him !

I was in a process of purchasing a property, and submitted a quote request online on their website. Got a callback immediately, it made me feel bad because it took me a while to send them the photos and more details about the property to complete a drive-by inspection.
The inspection day came, and Anthony called me to walk me through the details of his assessment, and promptly followed through with a formal quote via email. Unfortunately, the purchase transaction did not go through, but I sincerely appreciate the courtesy that Anthony extended throughout the inspection process, and his sharing of knowledge and expertise. There is no doubt that if I ever need an arborist in the future, I will contact Anthony/Arizona Urban Arborist again, and will refer this company to all of my friends. Anthony treated me with respect, kindness, and utmost professionalism even before he earned my business. Best of luck and keep up the good work, Anthony & team!

The crew did an amazing job for me! I had a large dying Saguaro cactus, along with a Palm tree that was in a very tight space for removal. They were able to get both out, taking a lot of precautions not to damage anything around them. Following the removal, the crew cleaned up the bark and tree residue, leaving nothing behind. I would highly recommend this company for doing a superb job at a reasonable price. The Owner, Anthony, is also very good with communication and follows through with agreements.

Anthony was fantastic! He came out the same day to look at our backyard tree, adjusted the staking and irrigation, and gave us great advice for the year ahead—all free of charge. Professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. I’ll be calling him for every tree need from now on!
