This is a great place to buy plants and accessories. If you love gardening like I do, be prepared to spend quite some time poking around at all they have to offer. You won't be disappointed. Friendly helpful staff too.

The best combination of good prices, great prices and amazing guarantees on their plants. I highly recommend this place for citrus and succulents, as all plants are guaranteed, which is AMAZING especially if you’re new to AZ growing. Much better service and prices than Moon Valley!

Great selection of pretty much anything you'd want to plant from house plants to trees. Nicely laid out. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable and more than happy to help out or answer any questions. Best staffing experience out of three nurseries visited on same day! Would happily recommend Summer Winds Nursery!

Good selection of plants/pots/soil and friendly staff, but some plants had clear signs of infestation. Currently selling a $200 palm with severe mealy bug infestation.

Good selection of all kinds of plants. Nice selection of house plants, lots of flowering annuals, vegetables, herbs. Very diverse selection of cacti and other succulents. Citrus, shrubs, native species. Limited on roses. Outdoor pots and all kinds of fertilizer and other gardening necessities. Staff is very friendly and willing to help.

The best nursery in North Phoenix, hands down. They carry a great selection of plants and pottery, seeds and soil. Great customer service, loyalty program, guarantees, and I love that they carry the all of the Fox Farm and EB Stone products. I always enjoy my trips here.

Large garden with many indoor and outdoor plants, pottery, and cacti.

Nice selection and great knowledge from the staff. Much better value than those guys across the street! They might not have the extra large tree selection some places do but they have plenty of great flowers, trees, and shrubs.

The employees could identify a picture I took of a plant, showed me where they had some to buy, quickly got me through the line to pay for the plant, and carried it out and loaded it into the car for me! So many different flowers, vegetables, and herbs!! And the plants were organized so well! After looking around quite a bit, I had to use the Ladies Room. They had one, and it was clean and pleasant!! AMAZING!!!

I love Summerwinds nursery. I used to go to the one near downtown but they closed and I’ve been going to this location on Tatum since then. They are always friendly, helpful, well-stocked, and probably most importantly they are knowledgeable and their plants are healthy. Their store is big enough that they have everything you need, but not so big that you have to wander around forever to find it.
I always come out of their store with additional knowledge about gardening, or ideas. They also stock “Beneficial Beans”, which is an organization that helps employ adults with autism in the coffee product business.
I actually had question about something that was out of stock and they said they would take my number and find out more. They called me back within a couple hours with additional information and suggestions.
Bottom line, their prices are good, their service is excellent and courteous, and their plants are healthy and flourish in my gardens.

This place is very welcoming! It has many varieties of plants. The staff is helpful and proactive. I love the variety of accessories available there that can beautify your garden like wind chimes etc. Good to just get in and enjoy an afternoon looking at their beautiful plants, flowers and other art works.

Big thanks to the staff at SummerWinds for helping me with finding good succulents for the floral arrangements and bouquets at my wedding. After the florist I hired basically checked-out/gave up on trying, I had to figure out a way to wire succulents safely for a few days and make sure they looked beautiful on our special day. SummerWinds has a great variety of the little guys and wonderful staff who will talk you through pros/cons to the needs & maintenance for each. Highly recommend you check them out for any of your gardening needs.

I've been a regular customer of SummerWinds for almost 25 years. The staff is always available and eager to help. That said, I have noticed a significant increase in prices this year (which seems to be a trend at other nurseries as well).
Update on review from three years ago:
The past several times I have been here, the selection is not nearly what it used to be and the prices have now gone through the roof. I found the same plant, of equal quality and size, just down the road at Home Depot for less than half the cost. Many of their plants don't even look healthy, like they once did. Unless something is done at this place, I don't think I will be returning.
    Summer Winds Management,
Why do you only respond to reviews which are highly complimentary of you? I would like to hear your response to my very legitimate criticism.
Still no response from ownership to my review after several months. This speaks for itself.

I love this little oasis in the desert! Lots of outdoor plants available and a good variety of houseplants as well. I was impressed with the selection of soils, fertilizers, etc and found exactly the difficult-to-find products I was searching for. Also, the staff here are so friendly and helpful. They are taking the pandemic situation seriously by asking patrons to wear masks and keep distance, but the nursery still feels like an escape from crazy and the shopping experience is pleasant. This was my first visit but I will return soon!

Staff so helpful. Ben took a lot of time with us with questions we had about Bermuda seed for summer grass, along with fertilizer and topper, and time to plant summer grass. Very large selection of everything having to do with landscaping. Very clean nursery. Would highly recommend.

Best nursery I've been to so far. Great selection and really cool succulents and cacti I've not seen elsewhere. Also, the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Rich, you're an awesome guy! Hope to chat with you again next visit!

I love this place! They have an AMAZING selection of succulents, house plants...including those more difficult to find varieties.

The service is beyond helpful...even a bit too helpful for me, but I would prefer a friendly face offering assistance repeatedly than trying to find help for five minutes.

They do a great job helping keep their customers safe by ensuring face masks are properly worn...a smart business move that ensures their customer base remains healthy for future planting!

First time I went was by chance, but you can believe I will go out of my way (30 minutes) to shop here time and time again.

The plants here are always in good condition and the employees are very knowledgeable.

Can never remember his name but he's tall brown hair lean, he is a succulent master!

Great place! Extremely friendly and helpful staff. I was able to get advice about a stressed plant at home. It really is the place to go for beautiful plants and advice. Easy access off the 101 or just go north on Tatum. Plenty of parking. Big carts to load your plants on as you shop. Great variety of indoor/outdoor plants. Prices are very fair.

So helpful, courteous, and doing their part to keep all safe during dangerous times. Gardening is keeping me sane in this pandemic.
