I moved to the high dessert (Victorville) and decided it would be good to get solar panels up here. After speaking extensively with various companies, the one that won me over was Barnes Solar. I worked with Mike Lemaire and he was great. His customer service is amazing, and coming from a service industry that went a long way with me. He is very good with communicating with his clients and always responded promptly to all of my questions and concerns. I had a ton of questions and he was extremely patient with me and very detailed with the explanations. I asked for multiple proposals, and he was happy to provide them. We had one little "hiccup", but he took full ownership and the issue was resolved. I would work with this company again solely based off of the service I received from Mike. When you call this company to request a proposal, ask for Mike. You won't be disappointed.

There are many choices here. don't get fooled by the shiny thing the loud companies throw at you. Barnes in full of Good Folks that provide a Good Service at Good Prices. Mike, Ricky, Ryan and Jose are highly qualified technicians that realize Solar Customers are not "1 off" sales, and happy people create future revenue.

I interviewed six solar companies and selected Barnes. Jake is highly knowledgeable in terms of utility rates, the solar industry and system design. He put together a 36 panel system for me, taking advantage of several roof planes of my home. He also offered several attractive financing options. I saw the decision coming down to 1) comfort level with and expertise of the company, 2) system design, 3) cost and 4) financing options. Jake made the selection process simple - he is professional, available and responsive. My bill went from $400-$600 a month to $14 last month. The premit process, HOA approval and installation were also handled efficiently and professionally. I could not be more pleased. Highly recommend you talk with Jake if you are considering PV solar.

Recently installed solar system. Communication was excellent, design was great and extremely thoughtful in the creation of it, giving us what we were looking for and what we may need and use, not overselling us. Crew was extremely professional and considerate. Very well coordinated and always kept us informed of steps in process. Also they navigated all permitting issues promptly and detail they provided made HOA approval process simple. Highly recommend them.

Barnes Solar provided us with the most affordable residential solar panel installation in California. The sun currently produces more energy than we can consume in our home. We can track individual roof solar panel generation and consumption down to the individual electrical appliance using technology. Self-contained and comprehensive. From design to permitting to installation, everything about the process was excellent. 💯👏💪

I got my first solar estimate for my residence without knowing much about solar from one of the biggest solar companies out there. Along with giving me an exuberant price, their array for my house would have only offset 50-60% of my annual electrical usage. I am so glad I decided to get other quotes. I then did months of research learning about solar before getting other quotes, let alone getting solar panels placed on my house. I am so glad I did because after getting six quotes I found Barnes to be a breath of fresh air. Where other solar companies prey on your ignorance, Barnes instead makes you aware of where other companies cut corners and apprises you of what you may not know; they then proceed to provide you with a quality product, which is second to none. But lets get down to brass tacks: of all my six estimates, Barnes came in with the lowest price...by FAR!!! They even beat Costco's estimate. When I had a minor issue, they fixed the problem within 48 hours and get this: THEY OFFERED TO PAY ME AN AMOUNT EQUAL TO THE VALUE OF THE ELECTRICAL PRODUCTION THAT WAS DISRUPTED BY THE ISSUE. So from the research I've done on other solar companies, their customer service is second to none as well. I could not be happier with both the quality of the product and customer service, a combination which is extremely rare in business these days!

Very happy with Barnes Solar and highly recommend to anyone looking for an honest and reliable solar company to do business with. Mike came out to our home and helped us out with our system (which had been installed by another company). He had us up and running again super quick and took his time patiently explaining everything to us and answering all of our questions. Very grateful for the wonderful service!!!

From start to finish, Barnes Solar was a wonderful company to work with. They came out and evaluated our property, as well as our electrical usage. Barnes provided us with an estimate and actually told us that maybe we shouldn't go solar. Due to our low usage, it would have taken us a bit longer to see a return on our investment. We decided to go ahead anyway because: A) we aren't planning to move anytime soon, and B) we had been looking to "go green".

They installed our solar system back in September 2017, and the installers were prompt & professional. Throughout the whole process, Ricky (the owner) kept us updated about everything that was going on.

We had Barnes Solar come out and put panels on my house last year. Not only did they take my electric bill from $500 a month to $0 but when they got on my roof they noticed that some of the shingles were ruined. So they fixed them for free!!! Custom r service like that doesn’t happen these days. I recommend Barnes to everyone.

I got solar panels from Barnes Solar at the end of 2019 and, in 2020 and 2021, they did not produce electricity for 6 months and 2 months respectively. I got a bill of ~$1,400 from Edison. I informed Barnes Solar but they refused to reimburse a single dollar. However, a few days after my call, they sent a technician who fixed the solar panels. A few months ago, I started receiving large bills from Edison and they told me that in spite of these monthly bills, you will get another huge bill at the end of 2021. I asked them the reason and they told me that my panels were not generating enough electricity. I wrote an email to Barnes Solar a few days ago but have not received a response. I have been calling them and, after a few attempts, somebody picked up and said that he would call me back within 2 hours to let me know what was going on but I never got a call back from anyone from Barnes Solar. I wish I never did business with this Barnes Solar and, instead, did some research and had gone with a better company.

Michael Lemairr was my project lead with Barnes Solar. I can't say enough about the professionalism displayed by Michael and the Barnes installation team. They did a great job on the install. Michael was phenomenal at handling the unavoidable hiccups that we encountered and dealt with them on a timely and efficient basis, including us trying to make up our minds on number and location of panels. Michael knows his stuff. I highly recommend Barnes Solar for anyone considering installing solar. Also, I'm a tax guy. Reminder: the IRS solar credit gets reduced from 30% to 26% after December 31 of this year, 2019, then 22%, then 10% by 2022 unless they change the law.

After years of researching solar, I finally decided it was time to purchase. I was always very intimated and felt like I didn't know enough about Solar to purchase. I researched and got quotes from many companies and saw a huge range in pricing. I spoke with Jake at Barnes and he made me feel comfortable and offered a range of options to best suit my homes needs. I would highly suggest these guys. Everyone who I worked with at barnes was very professional and courteous.

Ever hear the oft-used phrase, " No one's perfect"? Well, count that as a myth now. Following much research, and several bids, ( AND one scorching summer/fall with electric bills soaring into the $500's even with thermostat at 80), we settled with the company who not only used aerial google photos, but "old school style", actually put a guy on the roof to check the way the sun hit the roof in consideration of our giant shade trees; human sundial fashion; Ricky reset the " typical" position to an array that would bring the best benefit specific for our site. Ricky also advised not over buying panels and his calculations have proven near exact. (This guy's good!) We had a bit extra produced energy, received a small check from Edison, so easily added a Tesla. Still covered. Yep, Barnes Solar sent the best, most professional squad to install the new system, electric panel, as well as the most recent addition, a Tesla charger much thanks to Jose who set that up, with exceptional skill, cleanup and professionalism. Jake, was great to work with, in keeping us on the schedule. This company IS perfect! You can take THAT to the bank.... unless you haven't gotten your solar from Barnes Solar that is!”

8 Years ago we had Barnes Solar install a solar system on our house. We used our south and west facing roofs so that we would have optimum coverage. 8 years later, we couldn’t be happier. The design was specific to our house, not cookie cutter and the quality of the installation blends very well into our house. When we buy another house, we wouldn’t hesitate to call them out again. Its nice not to have an electricity bill, especially living in the Inland Empire.

Barnes Solar installed a system for me about 8 years ago. Ricky Barnes was a pleasure to work with. They did a very professional job and kept the workplace immaculate. the system is working well 8 years later and has now paid for itself in utility savings alone. I had a small problem recently with my in home monitoring system. Mike at Barnes Solar took charge. He sent out a technician immediately. Problem quickly fixed, and I remain a very satisfied customer.

I got proposals from five different solar installers. Not only did Barnes have the best pricing, but they were the easiest to work with. Mike worked with me over email, quickly submitting proposals and trade-offs for the different scenarios I was considering. He did not pressure me to meet face to face, but said he'd be happy to meet if and when I was ready. The plans were very comprehensive and we had no problems with either the city or my association. The install took about 4 days. The only minor issue was some minor workmanship issues, which were quickly resolved without any hassle. The system has been up and running now for over 2 months and I'm thrilled.

Had the pleasure of being referred to Barnes Solar through a friend who also used them for installation of solar panels. From the beginning, Jake was informative, professional and extremely knowledgeable about their product and how solar would work for our family. Given the high pressure sales tactics from Tesla, this was a welcomed change. It took us some time to decide but Jake was very patient through the whole process. The crew and engineers were also professional, took their time, and cleaned up after the install. I couldn't be happier with Barnes from start to finish.

I spent several weeks meeting with different solar installation companies before choosing Barnes Solar, and I am very glad with my decision. I wasted weeks of effort trying to work with large companies like Baker Electric, to get the system dialed in to my needs, and fix the roof according to my requirements. Nobody even came close to providing the direct customer support like Barnes did. Working with Mike Lemaire was a pleasure, my questions were answered immediately, his responses were always quick, and he was always willing to accommodate my needs as a customer. Once I made the decision and I received approval from the city for the project, the roof work was completed, and soon thereafter the panels were installed and my electrical system expanded. I passed all the necessary inspections, and was able to power my system up without a hitch. Bottom line, if you go with Barnes, you won't go wrong. These guys outperform and outbid the bigger companies, so don't be afraid to enjoy the experience they will provide. 6 stars out of 5, in my opinion.

The engineers and installation crew did a fantastic job installing the solar system and completing custom finishing touches, including painting. We are very pleased with the performance and look of our residential, 22-panel, 6.6 kWp system and we enjoy tracking power production via the app on our phones!
