Our first time Solar experience was excellent. Our sales contact (Mike Lemaire) was professional and helped throughout with the entire process. The installation crew was great and fixed changes / mistakes quickly. They worked well with the City Inspector who was a bit demanding. I have and will continue to recommended Barnes Solar to my family, friends, and neighbors.

As a contractor, we are a huge fan of working with Barnes Solar. We appreciate their commitment to quality and their high degree of professionalism. Our customers also agree with how great it is working with Barnes and how they efficiently execute installing solar on their home or business. We can't speak more highly of Barnes and encourage homeowners and commercial building owners (as well as contractors like us!) to work with them.

I reached out to Barnes Solar to get a quote for my townhome. I ended up speaking with Mike and he was fantastic in reviewing the entire process, pricing, warranty, etc... He provided an initial quote based on a Google Earth view of our roof, then sent out an installer to get an exact measurement of how many panels we could fit and what percentage of our electric bill the solar system would offset.

The pricing was great and Mike worked closely with our HOA as we were going to be the first owners in our community to add solar, so we had to follow / create the CC&Rs to include solar.

Unfortunately, due to the design of our roof and the requirements of panel placements not being allowed to be too close to property lines or roof pitch changes, we were not able to design a system that would offset enough of our electric bill.

Instead of pushing me to still buy the system, Mike was honest and straightforward and agreed that it might not be the best time for us to add solar. As of right now, the panels are I believe 400kw each? ...once they become more efficient, we may be able to generate more power with less panels and pursue this again.

If we end up moving to a place that has a better roof design, we will definitely go back to Barnes Solar to have them build out a system for us!!

We recently worked with Mike at Barnes Solar and were blown away with the customer service we received. He was very thorough and honest, being sure to tell us where any hidden costs might arise, and even giving us advice on steps to take before getting solar panels in order to maximize our long term value. We contacted several other companies for bids on our project and didn't receive nearly the amount of information and friendly treatment we got from Mike, not to mention they had the most fair and reasonable bid of all the companies we contacted. I would highly recommend Barnes Solar (and especially Mike!) if you're in the market for adding panels to your home or business!

We had our solar panels installed in 2015. Everything was working great... until it stopped generating power. Unfortunately, the company that installed our system had gone out of business so there wasn’t anyone we could turn to for a fix that was under our contract warrantee. I called Barnes Solar and they were able to fix our system using the manufacturer’s warrantee. A huge relief!
We weren’t an important big installation for them, just a small job, but they still did a professional and timely job getting us back up and running again. I absolutely appreciate the quick work they did and would highly recommend them as a solar installation company as well as for their technical expertise.

Everyone involved described their services and offerings with great care. The salesperson I interacted with, as well as the installers and supervisors, were all really professional. They were quite thorough in describing the information and options available to me. The technical components of the installations and programs were simple to comprehend. They were patient with me when I didn't understand things. I had no prior expertise with solar panels, but they guided me through the entire process. They met all timelines and delivered on all promises. There were no shocks because they set the proper expectations and informed me both the advantages and negatives without being pushy. They were quite courteous in informing me ahead of time when they were going to undertake work at my house. The installation went without a hitch. The technicians were all quite pleasant. From the beginning to the finish of the installation, working with Barnes Solar was a pleasure. All of my questions were answered to my satisfaction throughout. Barnes Solar comes highly recommended by me. Their service has exceeded my expectations.💯😁👏

I would give Barnes Solar 6 stars or more. Mike Lemaire walked us through the planning and development of our home solar system. He made the application and the project simple and smooth. The customer service continues after you’re sold and they’re always willing to answer questions. We had several other proposals from big name companies and Barnes Solar stood out far and above the others. We got the newest equipment, unlike the other companies and installation was quick and easy. I’m recommending them to all of our neighbors!!

We have used many contractors over the years when we have moved to new homes and recently decided to go solar. We interviewed a half dozen solar companies and decided to use Barnes Solar because they are the easiest to communicate with. They understand solar and they understand what the customer wants. Jake was great at discussing our options and was very quick to let us know what they could do and what we would pay. Once we started the project Jake didn’t disappear as some contractor do when you hire them. He was still our “go to” if we had questions. Barnes Solar handled everything with the city and Edison. We had solar installed within about 6 weeks and were up and running shortly after that.
Jake has continued to be available if I have questions.
If you want the most reliable top end equipment, at the best price,
from someone who knows solar and will be there every step of the way then go with Barnes Solar and Jake will get it done. I just wish the could do our whole remodel.

After evaluating several solar installers, we selected Barnes Solar to equip our home in Coto with solar energy. Mike, Ricky and the install crew were all great to deal with. They set realistic expectations, answered all of our questions (I asked a lot). In the end, they had the best pricing, showed the best knowledge of the industry and technology and got the job done in less than a week (30 panel install). I would highly recommend Barnes Solar to anyone looking for an honest, efficient and effective solar installer.

Noticed that one of my panels stopped working, but unfortunately my original installer had gone out of business. Contacted Barnes Solar and they gladly offered to roll a truck to take a look. Jose quickly found that the panel’s optimizer had gone bad and sent it back to the manufacturer for warranty replacement. Then they came back a week later and installed the new unit. Jake was quick to respond to emails and kept me up to date on status. Price was very reasonable. Great and friendly service and I will definitely work with Barnes Solar again for future repairs and expansions. Customer service as it should be... got to like that!

Barnes Solar installed my system in 2014 and I have been very pleased with the decision ever since. The company was open and honest throughout the process and quoted me at a more competitive cost than some of the other companies I checked out. Barnes came out to my house for the installation just a few weeks later and finished the job quickly and professionally. I don’t have any complaints about the entire process from start to finish and the system is working exactly as I was told it would. I can happily recommend the company and the owner, Ricky, to anyone interested in a similar experience.

Before we selected Barnes Solar we interviewed 3 other companies, large and small. Barnes is a family company and they gave me a good feeling from the moment I met them. Their prices were very competitive and their attention to detail was impressive. Their employees were all polite and responsible. They insured we were satisfied with every aspect of the installation. It has been 22 months since the installation and they still check in with us to see how we are doing. I am also pleased to say that we have not had an electric bill since. I could not recommend them more highly.

UPDATE- I am having difficulty contacting Barnes regarding their 25 yr warranty. I have had the System for almost 4 yrs. Last year, I was notified that LA Solar would be providing Service. When the Inverter failed LA Solar totally botched the RMA for the replacement. It cost me hundreds in lost production. I just want to find out who is honoring the Barnes Solar Warranty.
ORIGINAL- Their purchase price was very competitive. They gave me different options for Panels. The Design was optimum. And, the installation by Mike and his crew was great. It seems like an easier and more positive decision to go with an experienced Local Company.
I am now starting to get those $10 a month Electrical Bills.

Barnes Solar had been amazing since day one. The service and product has been great! Even a year after having the product installed, they have been available for me when I have asked questions about the product . The company was faster, much nicer, and more affordable than other solar companies. Mike Lemaire goes above and beyond to help his customers. Everyone that has come to the house has been nice, knowledgeable, and respectful. I recommend Barnes Solar to all my friends and family that need solar.

I waited to write this review because I wanted to have enough time with the system to write a fair review. We have now been installed about 9 months and we are extremely happy with our choice to go with Barnes Solar. They were professional, responsive and fair. Initially, we were leaning toward another vendor, but after talking to neighbors we researched Barnes and decided to go with them. It was a great decision. Throughout the process, our project manager worked hand-in-hand with us. Even several months after installation, when I contacted him for copies of paperwork, he immediately replied and provided the materials. I would highly recommend Barnes Solar.

The Barnes Solar crew did an excellent job of describing the solar panel installation process. In addition to being patient and good at communicating. Michael was very direct and professional. He patiently addressed all of our questions and went through all of the different programs available in our area. He walked us through the approval process and everything that came with it when we found the best fit for us.

It was a great experience, and we can't wait to put our panels up and "go green."

Barnes Solar recently removed and re-installed the solar system on our home to facilitate a re-roofing project.

Communication was excellent. The crews were prompt, polite, masked, and neat. They coordinated well with our roof contractor.

There were a couple of issues with our system and they promptly resolved them.

We used Barnes in lieu of our original installer as the original company chose to leave this geographic market. Barnes Solar has gone out of their way to have us a customer.

I've been in the construction business for over 40 years and Barnes Solar is a company I would be proud to have on my contractor list were in this part of the industry.

Barnes Solar did a great job with my solar installation. From start to finish their team was very professional. I requested bids from 6 different solar companies. Two didn't show up and Barnes came back with the best price and I felt they had the best experience. Pete came out first and we discussed my needs. He gave me some great ideas for my installation. They completed the project quick and it looks great. Even after the installation and my panels were up and running I called Pete with a problem. He responded right away and sent out his electrician. Come to find out it was a problem on my existing electrical wiring. His electrician helped me isolate the problem so it was easy for me to correct. I know if I ever need help or have questions regarding my Solar System, Barnes Solar will be there for me. Thank you Pete and to all the Barnes Solar Team.

My company PCS Energy has contracted over 50 commercial solar installations with Barnes Solar. Having worked with several solar installers in the past I can say with out a doubt, Barns solar is the best installer I have seen in the industry. The owner Ricky Barnes is incredibly knowledgeable and dedicated to customer satisfaction. His crews are organized, clean and respectful.
