Great selection. Don't be afraid to walk out back, lots to see and pick from. Jordan has helped me numerous times and knowledgeable about what he has and very informative. "Peggy Sue" up front is always pleasant and helpful.

Today was my first time there. I wanted to get an aloe plant, but first I enjoyed walking through the many rows of plants, just taking it all in. The staff was very friendly and patient. I learned a lot about how to care for an aloe vera plant. I would recommend this place for any garden related need. They have tools, soil, pots, plants, decorations, and so much more.

Beautiful trees, but the warranty is a joke. I bought all their ingredients with their extended warranty just so they could tell me that my plant wasn't cover cause I buried it an inch too deep and therefore I was at fault
*** Update *** Got a phone call by manager, who replaced my Asian pear, apparently I was covered by extended warranty

Purchased a tree with my DEBIT CARD to pick up next day. A couple hours after purchasing I called to see if I could get REFUND as I changed my mind & wouldn't be picking up tree. They said ok. Less than 24 hours, very next day I came in to have REFUND processed which should've been simple CASH as I used my DEBIT CARD but ran into unreasonable difficulty. Ended with me having to pay 10% of original purchase to the nursery. Reason? Owner said they have bank fees. On DEBIT PURCHASES? Never heard of this but to stop ARGUING, I left with all but 10% of a purchase I never had use of. Very disappointed. We're all feeling stress due to the awful economy but to treat a customer this way was, in my opinion, unfairly. Sadly I'll be shopping elsewhere although their nursery is beautiful & nicely stocked

I am extremely unhappy to say this is my 4th year as a customer & my last. I've been a frequent customer at White Forest Nursery since I purchased my 1st home in October 2020. I've spent thousands purchasing hundreds of plants including: annual & perennial flowers, shrubs, deciduous trees, fruit trees, citrus trees, & vegetables.

I visited multiple times a year, & especially looked forward to the vast bareroot selection during winter. I had recently visited on 1/30/23 to buy a bareroot tree rose & persimmon tree. It was cold, wet, rainy, but I still decided to drive all the way from the Southwest to visit my favorite nursery. Happy with my new plants, I called my mother to say how great this year's selection was. We decided to return a few days later, (2/2/23) to purchase 3 more tree roses. My mother is a retired agricultural biologist who worked with the county for over 30 years. She also spent an abundant amount of money at this business over the years.

After selecting our roses, we wandered the property & noticed there were dozens of ripe citruses on the trees & on the ground. In the past, we've been told by MULTIPLE employees that customers are allowed to sample ripe fruit.

My mother picked a tangerine when a man walked towards us asking if we were "here just to eat fruit?" We replied, "no, we're enjoying shopping, are we not allowed to?" He chuckled & said  "only if you buy the tree.... ha.. that's not funny..." as he walked away.

He never clearly informed us that picking fruit was against company policy.

Thinking he was joking, my mother picked another tangerine, when he started yelling, "OUT, OUT! OUT! YOU NEED TO LEAVE RIGHT NOW!" Aggressively waving his hands in the air like we were LIVESTOCK, not PAYING CUSTOMERS.

Since my mother worked for the county, she identified this man as the OWNER, JERE WHITE. He then muttered that the ripe fruit on the trees were selling points, & he can't sell trees if people keep picking their fruits.

If he had explained this in complete sentences & talked to us like we were adults from the start, we would have most definitely refrained from picking! I'd also like to say 2 out of 3 of the citruses I purchased in the past were not fruiting, but that did not dissuade this once loyal customer from buying them.

I cannot believe how inappropriately & crudely he handled this situation. Of all people, the OWNER should be ashamed of reacting so tactlessly by raising his voice & banshing customers without first explaining the rules. As humiliating as this was, I see how socially incompetent he was & the blatant disrespect he has for his patrons. He immediately misjudged us, a registered nurse & retired biologist, deciding he did not need nor value our business.

I have plenty of other nurseries I am loyal to. Bolles will be seeing me more often; I'll save gas by only driving 15min each way compared to 30min. My family will NEVER go out of our way to buy a single plant here ever again. All the other employees always provided great customer service, but we can no longer support the business of such a crass owner.

This place is a gardener's dream come true! Down right magical. The checkout system was a little awkward, especially when we were wheeling a giant olive tree through the building and trying to check out. However, the employees were friendly and knowledgeable. We will be returning soon.

I have been a customer of White Forest Nursery for over 15 years. The salespeople there are courteous and knowledgeable. It’s a beautiful place to shop for any of your planting needs. If you haven’t visited White Forest Nursery, I urge you to stop by and enjoy the beautiful and relaxing atmosphere!
Now… to the women that were caught stealing fruit from the salable citrus trees…..shame on you! You mentioned that both you and your mom are educated people, yet even after being asked nicely by an associate not to pick the fruit off of trees you have no intention of purchasing, you continued to do so. Then you try to sabotage their beautiful business by posting a review that basically says you were upset because you got caught stealing fruit. Why you want your family and friends to know that you stole from White Forest Nursery is a mystery to me. Note to all other nurseries in Bakersfield….. watch out if they come to your nursery!

I went in to look for plants for replacing my grass I was put in touch with Zach who spent time explaining the different plants that would be great for my needs, helping me do a rough design and spent time taking me to each of the different plants so I could see them in person. He did this without any pressure to buy anything today. I will definitely be giving them my business when ready to purchase.

bought a beautiful philodendron brasil from here. this place is gorgeous with a wide selection of outdoor plants. would love to come back but won't solely due to the fact that NONE of the employees wore masks or face coverings. they were also shouting at each other from across the store, further spreading potential germs. very gross and careless considering the time we're in. i will stick to dedicated trips a month to la to go buy my plants out there.

First of all, we have been going there for years and have spent a lot of money! Never had a bad experience until now! We went shopping for climbing vines, I find the guy ask him were they are stands in the front of the building, wouldn’t even take to me them! So I eventually find them all the way in the back, only them in one big cluster wrapped around each other. So I had to go find the guy again. We go back there he rips it off and takes most of the flowers off with it! So I ask his if he’s willing to give me a discount and he said no what the price is what it is!!
I will never buy anything from them again!!

Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. They even have a book that they take requests. If they are able to bring it in they will call you. Well organized. Wide variety of product in various sizes. The day I was there they had a GREAT sale on ceramic pots (50% off).

Great staff, beautiful plants and a large gift and outdoor living accents. Lots of variety and good prices. Everyone is super knowledgeable and friendly and they go out of their way to be helpful. Great for experienced gardeners and also people who want more help and advice about what to choose for their yard.

Very impressed with this nursery - the selection is large and varied, especially the trees. The quality of the vegetable starts is great, and the employees are knowledgeable and helpful. 10 out of 10 would recommend, and I'll definitely be coming back.

We went to look at their tree selection and were not disappointed! We had looked at Lowe's and Home Depot and found their selections lacking. At White Forest we found a beautiful, young jacaranda tree to plant in our front yard (hopefully we get it to survive the winter) and a friendly employee very helpfully grabbed a cart for us. I love wandering the outside lot, and have had great experiences purchasing Christmas trees from them in the past (will probably do so again since we moved back to the east side, recently). Great place to shop for your outdoor spaces, and I'll be back to pick up some hoya plants for indoors, too!

My FAVORITE place to shop for all my gardening needs. They are very knowledgeable and friendly. I just started my garden and came loaded with questions and they were there to answer them kindly and patiently. It’s also a very gorgeous location & can’t beat the pricing!

I have been coming here for more than 35 years. The plants are beautiful and healthy and reasonably priced. I came in this morning to get a hibiscus. They were moved since the last time I was here. I asked an employee who didn’t know where they were. She walked away and never came back. I did find them, picked the one I wanted and went inside to pay. I was completely ignored even when the other customer was through. When I said something, the employee said “I can’t read minds “ I asked if he could read my face because I was really annoyed at the service I received, or didn’t receive. I bought my plant. I’ll always continue to come here because of the plants, not the service. I should have been treated better.

It was a very pretty nursery and everything but I came for indoor plants and was severely disappointed in the selection and the prices for the indoor plant selection was way too overpriced I even saw half dead plants that were still ridiculously priced. I could've gone to Lowe's and got a bigger, healthier selection of house plants for a better price. For the drive out here it wasn't worth it in my opinion... Staff was nice but didn't make much of a difference in my visit. I only bought a couple outdoor plants to make me feel like I got something from the trip. I won't be coming back again.

The nursery itself was great with fantastic selection and the customer service was exceptional. CJ was so patient with us, answering all our questions, which were many, and took the time to help us pick out the best varieties for what we were looking for. Truly an awesome experience. Thank you CJ!
