Cooper Hawkins is a great HVAC contractor. They've been around forever but you still get a small family company experience. If you have the opportunity to work with them, you will not be disappointed. A+.

We reached out to Copper Hawkins to assess our AC unit. Don came over to our home and made great recommendations to help us cool down without having to replace our existing unit. I appreciated his professionalism, punctuality, and most importantly his honesty. He did mention that our AC unit was small for our home, but he did not push us on purchasing a new unit. He mentioned to follow his initial recommendations and from there determine whether or not we want to invest in a larger unit. We followed his advice and it worked! We didn't have to invest into a new unit. It's rare to find honest companies these days.
Thank you Copper Hawkins, we are grateful for your professional services. -
I did a bunch of research to find a trustworthy heating/AC company and I’m so glad I found and went with Copper Hawkins!! They came and fixed my heater right away, being careful and mindful of my space. Very professional, knowledgeable (knew the ins and outs of my building’s old heater) and got the job done in a timely manner is something I greatly appreciate! I would highly recommend them to anyone with any AC/boiler/heater issues. Special thank you to our service tech who took very good care of us!

I have used Cooper-Hawkins Engineering many times and they have always exceeded my expectations. They are professional and very thorough. They take the time to explain the process and my options. They are so friendly and I know I can trust them. Also, I love their new website. It is so easy to use. I strongly recommend them!

We bought their HVAC around 2 years ago, and it is broken after one year(their sales told me they don't even know why). You will be amazed how rude & unprofessional their sales are, and how their attitude can change so much when you reach out to them after your paid and now the HVAC is broken. I just spent another 3400+ to fix it since they claimed some parts of the charges are not covered in the warranty. They don't feel sorry or is a big deal, not even a single reply when I was trying to figure out the cost of my payment, as they have made changes on the numbers on the email and invoice. Instead of trying to figure out how to clean up their own mess. They hang up on me when I was standing in the bank just wish to find out how much I need to pay in total . There is no one you can talk to, and you will just have to swallow it. Bit of advice for ppl who really need to buy their HVAC, do think twice!!!!

I had such a great experience working with Cooper & Hawkins. They did an excellent job and everyone was so friendly. If you want an quality, easy and stress free experiance this is the company for you.

I had high hopes with Cooper & Hawkins given their long history, but my experience was frustrating. While they offer HVAC and refrigeration services, their communication was poor and scheduling felt disorganized. I waited longer than promised for a technician, and when they finally arrived it seemed like they weren’t fully prepared to diagnose the issue. Prices also felt high compared to the actual work done. Some staff were polite, but overall I left feeling under‑informed and let down by the process. It didn’t match the level of professionalism I expected from a longtime contractor.

Great company, honest service. Daughter called for clogged toilets. Charged the minimum to clear them and taught her how to do it. Highly recommend

We are happy with the outcome, though it took longer than anticipated and I had to reach out for the final appointment. Other than that the employees were nice and got the job done.

Gilbert and Santino provided outstanding service from start to finish. The issue was fixed efficiently, and the customer service was excellent. Highly recommend for your HVAC needs.

Once the scheduling was settled, as I was under a time crunch, they contacted me and evaluated the problem. As per my request they called me and told me the cost before they proceeded. I approved the work and it was done. It all went very smoothly.

I'm only filling this out because Albert Nahman solicited my review twice now for a job they didn't do. I was just going to forget about it but fine here's my review.
The dude who showed up at my house was great. He knew what he was talking about, and helped me understand the work that would be involved. I knew from research, and he confirmed, that the part I needed was ~$700, and the work would take less than an hour, exterior of the house, ground level. They quoted me at $2800. I said your guy is here, he has the part, I'll pay $1200 right now. Even if you pay your dude $300 for the labor and parts (yeah right) that's still $200 bucks in your pocket, right now. His boss said no, so off he went.
I had another plumber do the work for $1400.
Moral of the story is get quotes before you commit to these guys.
UPDATE TO RESPONSE:
There was no transparency. There was no frustration. There was only confusion at how this job could be quoted so high and why whoever was in charge was so inflexible. He didn't even come back with "how about $1500?" .
Also I haven't gotten a phone call or message. So idk what they're talking about. -
Very capable professional installers. From beginning to finish a very good experience and would rate them excellent. Thanks Sergio and Sak.

I scheduled an appointment to have annual maintenance done on my heat pump mini split. They have an absurdly long time window of 8-4 that I needed to be home for their technician to arrive. By 3:15 I called because I hadn’t heard anything and they said their technician was out sick and needed to reschedule. I took the day off from work. I told them no need to reschedule- I would find someone else to do the work. Really terrible communication.

Tara resolved what turned out to be minor issues rather than major ones to our relief! I was happy with the turnaround time of a few hours of her estimated arrival especially when it's the holidays. Tara arrived promptly and eager to help us. Thank you, Albert Nahman and Tara!

Quick response on NYE. Very respectful and knowledgeable, he cleared our clogged sink and replaced some old damaged pipes. Now we need to do the dishes. Thank you, I will definitely use AN again

Called for a plumber, got an appt for same day. Nice. Sal came as ordered. Sweet. Introduced himself, put bbities on before he came in without my asking him to(new floor & carpet). Excellent. Looked at my issue, recommended a soluyion. No fuss, no muss. I will use them again.

Exceptional service. Najee is the best. Very chill guy, super knowledgeable, and a pleasure to be around! Fixed essentially all of my plumbing issues in one day.

I was charged $75 just to receive an estimate of $758 to swap out a basic freestanding sink from Albert Nahman Plumbing, Heating & Cooling, out of berkeley. The job would have taken about 20 minutes, and that did not happen. The estimate felt completely unreasonable for such a simple task, and I left feeling that my time and money were wasted on paying for an estimate where I could not have the estimate charges applied towards the job. I cannot recommend this company based on my experience and will never contact them again.

Our technician Christopher was amazing. Very thorough and helpful. We had a gas leak. Fire department said it was from the dryer. He checked and checked and double-checked. Couldn’t find a leak there. Went through all the other connections in the house and found it by the stove. I appreciate his initiative.
Albert Nahman is a bit pricey but the benefit is that they are able to come out for emergencies and address the problem. -
This has to be one of the most unprofessional companies I have ever worked with. To begin with they made it sound as if they would be doing the diagnostic work in regards to finding a leak, which they actually sub out at a very high rate, $530 per hour per technician. They scheduled the job for a Tuesday and the field salesman told me the company had rescheduled, but the office said they never had a record of the job being scheduled. I was assured they would be there the following Thursday, this all took place on the Monday before the Tuesday appointment. So Wednesday comes around and I decided to make sure and confirm Thursday's new appointment time. After getting the runaround all day on weds, and nobody being able to confirm my appointment again I started to think I was getting g the runaround once again. Here we are now on Thursday morning, the morning of my scheduled appointment, and I get a text at 7:30am telling g 'em the company has once again rescheduled and we will have to move the appointment time into the following week. Needless to say I told them to forget about it and that I would be calling someone else. If you have a plumbing problem this is NOT the company to call.
On top of all of this they also fish for reviews, and email several spam emails with links to all the big review pages, and they send this email out before the work is even completed, so any good review on these pages should be taken with a serious grain of salt.
Note the time it took for responses in my pictures.
