Constraction reviews in Carlsbad, California

Overall we were quite satisfied with Savonpavers. As with any construction we had hiccups along the way that were dealt with fairly. Pricing was very competitive and the quality of the work was high. We did experience some frustration through parts of the project, with a lack of understanding of the plan. There were days were there would be no activiity and no explanation of what was happening or where the crew was. If I had any advise for the Savon team, it would be to improve their overall communication on status of the project to keep the homeowner informed. Happy with the end result!

We started with a plan to widen our driveway and redo our front yard to make it more water efficient. After talking to several landscape designers, we found Savon Pavers on Yelp and decided to contact them. Instead of adding to the side of the drive and walkways which were cracked Jamie suggested removing the concrete driveway, walkway and porch and recreating the space so that we could make better use of it. We liked it so much we asked them to come back and do our back yard too!
All of the men who worked on the job were professional, easy to work with and took pride in doing the job right. -
Nick from Savon Pavers provided the best design for the best price. We met with four contractors altogether, and Nick was by far the most professional, personable, and responsive to our needs and questions. More importantly, because of Nick's prior experience in pool and hardscape design, he had lots of suggestions and ideas to help incorporate some pre-existing structures in a creative and aesthetically pleasing way. He followed through with absolutely everything.
We had all of our grass and concrete patio removed and replaced with pavers, turf, and a curved retaining wall. We also had a patio cover which was installed by a different company. Nick was also able to coordinate with them and made the whole project come together quickly and seamlessly.
Our new backyard completely changed our house. We highly recommend Nick and would use him again if we ever move! -
Jamie and his team are PHENOMENAL!! Trustworthy, on time, hardworking, and meticulous! they remodeled both my backyard and front yard. Every single person who walks by my front yard comments on how great it looks. What’s more, Jamie and his wife care deeply about our Carlsbad community and support our local elementary schools! You can’t find a better team!

Savon Pavers just finished a big project for me. I’m so pleased, that the work crews were timely and that they cleaned up their mess. James is on top of it all. I liked working with him as he is easy to understand and did well with understanding me. My new driveway, courtyard and side yards are beautiful and it’s more affordable than you think!
Definitely talk with Savon Pavers for any hardscape work. -
Jamie, Julio & the team were amazing! The guys were punctual every day, very detailed oriented and presented themselves professionally. I highly recommend you go with Savon Pavers! You will not be disappointed!

I am a professional contractor and I’ve worked with Jamie Valdez and Savon Pavers and can confidently say they are kind, responsible, and extremely hardworking. Jamie and his team takes pride in their craftsmanship and consistently deliver high-quality results. Communication is clear, timelines are respected, and they genuinely care about customer satisfaction. It’s easy to see why they have such a strong reputation. I highly recommend Savon Pavers for anyone looking for reliable, professional work done right.

Buying a home at Coral Ridge has been nothing short of a nightmare. What was supposed to be a milestone has turned into a constant battle over basic safety and quality standards that should have been caught long before we moved in. KB Home is happy to take 100% of your money, but they only deliver 80% of the service and quality you paid for.
Safety Hazards: We moved in to find short circuits in our outlets (a major fire risk). KB’s "fix" was to hack holes in our new walls. Even more dangerous, the stair noses are coming out and we found loose stairs just 10 days after move-in. These are serious tripping and safety hazards that should never exist in a new build.
Structural Issues: The entire floor and staircase squeak and groan because the subfloor wasn't properly fastened. There are significant low spots throughout the house that the flooring inspector tried to dismiss using deceptive measurement tactics.
Zero Accountability: The flooring contractor face-nailed the LVP on the stairs, a move that voids the COREtec manufacturer warranty. When confronted, both KB Home and their subcontractors were dismissive and refused to stand by their work.
Insulting Service: Instead of fixing these defects, they try to "educate" you on why holes, cracks and short circuits are "normal" in a brand new house. It is a blatant attempt to insult your intelligence and avoid accountability.
No Quality Inspection: From missing door stoppers and misaligned handles to cracks in the walls and doors, it is clear that zero quality control happened here.
Loan Process Deception: During the loan process, expect to be given wrong numbers in each iteration, seemingly hoping you won't read the documents closely.
Bottom Line: STAY AWAY. KB Home treats you like a partner until you sign the papers; after that, you are just a nuisance for wanting the quality you paid for. Do not trust their internal inspections—hire a third-party expert or look elsewhere. Keep your money you will be happier -
Amazing builder, sales team, superintendents and service. This community has great people and is beautiful!

Great experience. All Source was recommended to us by a friend in the home water abatement industry to do some window repair and replacement. They quickly came to see our issues (rotten old wooden windows, trim, casings, etc), and provided a quote just as quickly. Had to have some custom windows made to replace an old single-pane setup that incorporated a round window as well, and that happened in a very reasonable timeline as well. Once all the windows were available and delivered, the removal/wall repair/replacement went quickly and smoothly. Based on the extent of the repairs, we also needed to complete a near-total re-stucco for our home, which was done by another contractor organized by All Source. The entire time the stucco guys were on the job, someone from All Source was always present to supervise, which was awesome.
Since the job was completed, All Source has followed up twice to ensure all is well, especially after any rains. They care, and stand by their work. Would highly recommend to anyone. -
All Source General Construction came to us highly recommended from a personal friend who’s interacted with Miguel on various construction jobs in the past. We needed to replace a 25 year old (primarily wood) stairway and 2 decks made of Trex. We had Miguel and his amazing crew replicate the original design. We were never disappointed with ANY facets of the job. In fact, they were GREAT! Their communication and cleanliness were spot on. His super considerate and respectful crew, especially with job foreman, Ulysses, were a blessing to have around. I wouldn’t hesitate recommending them to anyone! Thanks, All Source, for coming to our rescue 🛟!

I've worked with several construction companies to work on my dance studio in Oceanside, CA. Pacific Coast Construction was fast, went above and beyond what they agreed to, and charged me exactly what we had agreed upon. I have found this to be rare with construction companies so I am extremely appreciative of their professionalism. Highly recommend them.

We have worked with Pacific Coast Construction since 2015, and over the past 11 years, we have been fortunate to complete many successful projects with their team. Our company manages HOAs, and PCC has been involved in large projects for us, such as restoration of a historic fountain in La Jolla, many balcony reconstructions pursuant to the infamous SB326 balcony bill, and even full-community handrail replacement to satisfy insurance requirements. We've been working with them through thick and thin, and I can assure you that Pacific Coast Construction will always stand by their work and be honest with change orders and unexpected issues which may come up on the side of any project. We highly recommend their expertise to anyone looking for a quality job done right!
