Met JB a couple of years ago when he was doing some work for one of our neighbors. Our neighbor highly recommended him and I was looking for someone to do some regular yard maintenance for my sister. We signed up with him and have been happy with his responsiveness and service ever since. More recently I needed some yard work at our home and my wife was ready to fire our current gardener (me). A no brainer to reach out to JB and his crew to do the work. Sent him some photos, he scheduled us for the next day. They did a wonderful job and he gave us recommendations on various items to keep our plants flourishing. A pleasure to work with and reasonable.

I called JB services monday morning and he arrived in 30 mins. Together with a partner they had all the tools to help me take down two trees. they also cleaned up after! So fast efficient professional and good price. Thank you so much JB ! I cant wait to plant in this cleared area for spring wildflowers and sunflowers!

Absolutely amazing work done by the team!

New residential construction in Castro Valley required a rain catch basin in the front yard. Alex helped me design a fabulous dry riverbed with drought tolerant plantings to incorporate the basin. All my neighbors comment on how beautiful it is. A variety of grasses, drought tolerant flowering plants, some citrus trees. It’s exactly what I envisioned and he promised.

As a customer of both their Landscaping and Garden Services for many years (a happy one at that) I can no longer recommend them. I just received an email that they are terminating the Gardening Service effective immediately. This was done with NO advanced notice for either the customers or their employees. Not giving us any advanced warning to make other timely arrangements shows a lack of caring for both their customers and staff. Given this I will no longer be recommending this company and I will be giving my future business to a company with a little more compassion.

Hansen landscape is fabulous. They are so fine tuned, and so professional. The quality of their work is the very best, and It's also very nice to know that so many of the employees have been there for years, and speak so very highly of Steve, the owner. Excellent company.

There are some businesses that just do things right the first time and Hansen's is one of them....from their design suggestions to the actual installation everything is done right and too your satisfaction. They do everything necessary to help an owner make good decisions about their yard. GREAT OPERATION definitely recommend

Hansen Landscape Contractor did an absolutely phenomenal job on our yards, which were mostly just dirt previously. I worked with Louis Siegel to finalize the design and materials. He was honest, straight-forward, and knowledgeable. The crew was skilled, professional, courteous, and clean. Their show garden was very helpful for seeing different materials and options.

While there was a long lead time for getting the work started, once they got going, it was less than 2 weeks. Now we have a water-wise landscape with drip irrigation and are so happy to go outside, especially at night with the amazing lighting.

We didn't have many choices for landscaping contractors. I had 4 contractors visit, but only Hansen actually provided a quote. While I was worried about the lack of choice initially, we are really to have gone with Hansen.

I don't see how its possible for this company to get these reviews, Hansen Never was at My Job observing his crew's Correctness. Hardscaping was good keeping water away but didn't do any Drainage pipe, loose soil at the edge Never got Tamped. Rebar for my poured patio didn't meet standards so in Ten years it will be replaced, Stamping looks nice he Subbed the cement and they didn't Color the cement but Surface Colored with a Two year life. Planting came out good but Sparse and he Charges way too much for them, plus plants in Virgin soil my yard has Clay so plant will die. Edge of my patio has a Sloap Unadressed and left bare to slid down the hill with my patio.

Overall Hansen was NEVER at the job I mostly heard Spanish and watch them move slow, then Speed up when he showed up for Ten Minutes!
He used a machine for Hardscaping and Damaged my front lawn and never offered to fix it now another expense.
I went ahead and paid his Costly job because he Trapps you in a Contract even though the job was an Epic Violation Fail.
Oh and my Purgola was an Ugly Kit because his crew are Not Craftsman.

Soo Sad! Don't use him he needs to go to Refresh School and learn to Be At the JOB ensuring Correctness!

Bought a house and moved to the CV area back in 2021. Fast forward to this year w/ a new baby w/ cabin fever and the need to get our yard established was an urgent need.
Reached out to other landscapers and they were quick to execute on our initial vision of paving the whole yard to make it safe our little one, but Hansen was the first to help us envision a yard that was diverse and vibrant than just paving/installing concrete all over.
Steve walked us through his showyard and gave us options on what the yard could be. So we decided to go w/ Hansen to take on this project.
Worked w/ designer Louis to get plans that fit mulitple budgets and was able to curate one that fit all our needs.
Worked w/ Jack to get all the plants we desired and Jaime and crew were super accomodating and really explained everything they were doing if we had any questions.
The actual work took abt 1.5 weeks and the whole process took about a month since they were able to fit us in between bigger projects.

Always super helpful and responsive to any questions or last minute pivots we wanted to make.

Hanse was able to turn our wasteland of a yard to something we are proud to show off and host in and feel secure our toddler will have a yard/garden that she can enjoy as she grows.

10/10 would recommend.
