Scott and his team created a wonderful pool and landscaping design. We have a beautiful pool with spa and water features, a sport court, a fire pit, water fountains in the front, and a very nicely landscaped front yard. Thank you Green Scene team!

I have worked with Green Scene Landscaping on many architectural projects involving strict HOA guidelines and restrictions and I have to say this company is amazing! The plans they come up with look like works of art, they are responsive and kind. I can't say enough about Scott, Tyler, Stephanie, Kinsey, Jose, Everyone! I highly recommend them for any major landscaping and pool projects you are planning on doing!

Edit: as a response to the business response. The driver license plate was 46767k2 I believe. Extreme tailgating and unsafe driving by shooting to right lane before passing. This was shortly before we both got stuck in a freeway road closure due to fire. My wife said she noticed driver had a ponytail. Thank you.

Green Scene is the real deal. I’ve seen them around the area for years and now I know why. Scott Cohen and his team are professional, on schedule, visionary, and most of all, talented. They handle everything from design, permits, HOA fiascos, to the choosing of appropriate plantings for, in my case, a micro climate in a canyon. I had a very specific idea for my hardscape -nearly impossible- and Scott made it happen. They turned my 1+ acres of 1980’s original blah into a 2018 oasis to be enjoyed for decades. Seriously, my backyard looks like hotel grounds. We love our new yard, we use it, and we cannot recommend Scott and his team highly enough.

Took 6 weeks from paying for design and did not receive anything. I requested a refund, Scott contacted us and asked that we give them a chance to put together a design and if at that point we dont want to go through with them we can walk away with a full refund. After a week when Scott showed us the design, he tried pushing us to sign before we left because we did not want to give in to pressure we asked for time to get back to him. We were not offered a refund before we left.

After doing research I found multiple other companies that will do your design for half the price. We hired another company (feel free to contact me and I can give you their info). They did our design for half the price and we completely OWN our design that we paid for. GreenScene / Scott will not give you the design after paying 3k, they will tell you it belongs to "them".

We took Green Scene to small claims court because they would not honor the refund they should have given us many months ago. We were not awarded the money because Scott will show the court that you signed the design away to them so even though they took 2 months to get us a design, promised a full refund, and we have nothing they choose to not refund us and decide to keep our money.

I am also a business owner and I would never treat a client like this, I would much rather refund a customer and keep them happy even if I thought I was right.

Do yourself a favor, look through the hidden reviews and you will find some others that had similar issues. Dont be fooled, as soon as you decide not to go with Green Scene they will treat you like you dont matter, they will keep your money and not be helpful.

The design company I ended up hiring and going with, spent countless hours on multiple revisions and even helped us with other steps of the process free of charge, this all for half the price.

You may have avoided a judgement but I believe in Karma and doing business the way you do and behaving the way you do will not work forever, people will start to see and learn the truth.

Ok these guys are absolutely the best Landscaping team in the San Fernando Valley and beyond. You'd be lucky to have them in Bell Air or the Bird Streets, or anywhere in 90210 for that matter.

4. Scott actually has ideas and can design not only on a blank piece of paper but in a 3d file that will allow you to see your yard and make choices while in the space virtually.

I cant say enough about them. Everyone we recommend to them uses Scott at Green Scene after bidding everybody in town. That says a lot.

Scott and his team are awesome! Took a very challenging hillside and turned it into an incredible outdoor kitchen, an additional lower deck with fireplace and a custom stainless steel spa. Scott really solved the problems with his creativity and vision. The whole Green Scene team does quality work. I highly recommend them!

My husband and I contracted Green Scene for our front and backyard and are SOO glad we did. Honestly, you get what you pay for. There were of course a few other contractors we looked at who quoted a lower price but come to find out they messed up one of our acquaintances backyard, so needless to say we're GLAD we picked Green Scene. Again, just like with anything else, you def get what you pay for.

Main things we loved-

1) They have a cool and helpful 3d design mockup, that looks almost identical to the completed project and color renderings.

2) The entire team was a delight to work with, quite professional. It was obvious from the get-go that staff took pride in their work and in turn that translated into a work of art that we'll enjoy for a long time to come.

3) We received weekly email updates which was helpful to know what was coming up next.

4) Scott went through the entire process and answered all our questions. We chose specific upgrades that made a big difference at the end, for example the artistic pavers made a huge impact.

5) They somehow, someway made the backyard look larger. How does that even happen? I don't know but they made it happen.

6) We may be more finicky than others and do strive for perfection, these guys delivered just that.

We definitely recommend Green Scene. Our front and backyard look beyond amazing, SO aesthetically pleasing, our friends and family are taken back at HOW beautiful it turned out. Truuullly stunning.

911 was the number I dialed to remove Scott Cohen the owner of GreenScene from my property after refusing to stop taking photos and to leave my property. Scott Cohen ignored my repeated request to leave and continued to take several photos without my consent. Scott Cohen choose not to stay and left before LAPD arrived. I did not file a police report due to the possible repercussions with his customer service addressing serious project defects. The law is clear about when you are on private property, the property owner may set rules about the taking of photographs. If you disobey the property owner's rules, they can order you off their property (and have you arrested for trespassing if you do not comply). I did not and will not ever consent to any photography. Scott Cohen was told this repeatedly. He even went on to tell me that I don't own my project because I haven't paid him in full!

Based on our experience I will never recommend GreenScene. This was our first pool and landscape experience. We decided to go with GreenScene as we read many favorable reviews and GreenScene raved they are the premier landscape design and construction firm. We received lower quotes only to be told by GreenScene that those other companies were doing it wrong. What we ended up getting was an arrogant owner, that clearly took advantage of us.

We still have a laundry list of problems that haven't been addressed. Many emails and discussions have been exchanged. I'm not going to provide the entire list of issues, but the biggest was the defective Pebble Tec pool plaster. Upon bringing to Scott Cohen's attention, prior to the final payment, he (an "industry expert") told us it looked great and was up to industry standard. Despite our concerns with the extreme blotchy coloring, we then learned something else was seriously wrong with our brand new swimming pool as our family/friends were getting cut and scratched up. Obviously something wasn't right. Due to Scott's push back on addressing the issue, we reached out to an outside third party expert who determined the installation and possible start up was done incorrectly. Long story short, there were issues with the product, installation and startup all done and hired by GreenScene. It took ALMOST AN ENTIRE YEAR fighting with GreenScene and we eventually had to go around Scott Cohen and go directly to the manufacturer (Pebble Tec) and plaster installer (Preciado) to have our brand new pool re-plastered as Scott wouldn't accept anything was wrong.

Again, we will never recommend GreenScene. We spent over $200k on poor management, poor customer service, and terrible/defective material that still exists today. Any business that offers product in exchange for a favorable review, shouldn't be in business. Clearly we didn't accept the offer.

Scott, Shawn & the team were simply first class throughout the entire process. We hired The Green Scene to map out a design for our front-yard/driveway and they transformed a bare grass/cement to a stunning courtyard with a big bench, water fountain, lots of flowers/plants to go along with a picturesque driveway. Their open lines of communication, follow through and attention to detail were very much appreciated and we anxiously look forward to working with them again soon!

We hired Green Scene/Scott Cohen because of his extroidinary vision and 3D design for this project. The scope of work included pool, spa, patios, bbq, fire pit, hardscape and landscape for both front and backyards. We were impressed from start to finish. His GC Eric Sharon and his entire team are the most hard working, honest stand-up guys in the industry. We absolutely LOVED Eric and would choose to work with him over again if given the opportunity. Any issues were addressed and solved within a reasonable time frame and the work done was exactly what was contracted. We are excited to enjoy our beautiful new yard and we are thankful to Green Scene, Scott Cohen, Eric Sharon, Wilfredo and his entire crew for the tremendous amount of hard work they have put into making our new house a home now. We are also confident in the future that if we come across any problems Green Scene will be there to make sure they continue to take care of us as they stand behind their work. Honestly say enough positive things about Frank, who was our construction boss on the job, and his crew. Top to bottom the team was so pleasant and responsive on every stage of the project. There's an obvious culture of professionalism and quality of work: Salvador on the concrete, Fernando on the tiles, Angel & Anner on landscaping and Guillermo as the assistant supervisor pitching in where needed.

As the project progressed the team would check in daily and provide recommendations based on their expertise, even if the original design or our materials selection said something else, which we totally appreciated because we obviously have less experience seeing the part come together; that and things always look different in real life than in our heads.

No project is without the occasional hiccup, but Frank was always on top of it and made sure things were finished properly. If you have the pleasure of having Frank oversee your project you should have a ton of confidence in the work being done.

If I have any constructive feedback it's the project management could've been a bit smoother, but that seemed like an area that was getting better with recent hires...

As an architect and contractor it is very difficult for me to give up design and construction control. I am very detailed oriented and have very high expectations. I can truly say that this is the first time in my 40 year career that I have been completely satisfied with the end product. My wife and I chose Gree Scene because design was very important to us and we had a challenging small back yard with a big list of features that we wanted. Scott, Tyler and Frank did not disappoint! We can open our three panel slider and we feel like the back yard is part of our living room. It is so wonderful that the builder of our community often requests to bring a potential buyer over to view what can be done with a "tract home". Thank you Green Scene!

Excellent experience with Scott, Lisa, and the entire team. We had a complex project to landscape, hardscape, and light our front and back yards. From the moment they began on the project to its completion my husband and I were impressed by the entire team. Scott takes the time to listen to your project goals, and he works promptly to give you a beautiful plan. The execution of the plan and attention to detail are really what sets The Green Scene apart from other landscaping companies. The finished product was better than expected. We did not experience any hiccups. If there were any questions the Green Scene was prompt at answering questions.

I would highly recommend The Green Scene to anyone that is looking for a landscape design or construction project.

The Green Scene is the best VALUE out there in the pool and landscape industry, but they are not the least expensive. We initially worked with The Green Scene and several other design/build contractors when we were exploring who to hire for our new Toll Brothers home. We initially thought The Green Scene was expensive, and selected another firm that was a little less expensive and doing many projects in our neighborhood. It was a mistake. The other company (name withheld to protect the guilty) lied to us, failed to get HOA approvals, permits, and was unable to build our job in a timely manner, or to the quality that we required and we ultimately fired them. Turned out all of our neighbors had problems too with the other company with poor quality, no shows, over payments, and incomplete projects after living with a mess for years. With much frustration we let them go .. and we are so glad we did!

That’s when we reconnected with Scott Cohen and The Green Scene crew and they saved the day. All new design plans and permits were put into motion immediately. The difference between Green Scene and the other company was like night and day … it was astounding! The Green Scene is a brick-and-mortar company that is staffed with professionals that handles all the paperwork, permits and HOA docs. Angel, their detailed Project Manager works behind the scenes scheduling and coordinating the teams. Frank, their outstanding hands-on Superintendent oversees their construction Crew and was there every step of the way to guide us with any questions that we had. Scott, who designed and landscaped our yard with such artistry & perfection!! And lastly … our favorite of the Green Scene crew was “Noe” who was so precise and detailed with everything he touched, from creating our beautiful cast concrete polished counters, dog bone bench, walls, etc. His masonry skills are outstanding!

Now that we have completed our project with The Green Scene, our yard is the talk of the neighborhood! In the end we may have paid a little more, but we received a lot more quality, creativity, peace of mind, and a sense of pride in our home that is priceless. Green Scene Landscaping has done two major projects for us through the years, both were beautifully designed and executed. The front yard was our first project. Scott's design made our home look much more expansive with a curved flower bed, inviting entry patio, peaceful water feature, beautiful plant choices and perfectly placed landscape lighting that made it as pretty at night as it is during the day. Later we hired Green Scene to design and execute our back yard. Scott incorporated a lovely raised entertaining area with a wisteria covered pergola, a gas fire pit, beautiful landscaping and hardscaping along with a lighted fountain. Every time we go into the back yard a sense of peace comes over us. Our friends feel that same emotion when they visit. It truly is our sanctuary. Green Scene does great work at a fair price and made two major projects go very smoothly for us. We love the results and they have enhanced our quality of life.

Before hiring Green Scene for our outdoor project we shopped around and decided to go with them because of the following factors.

- GS has been on the market for a very long time. They have many finished projects in the area. This gave us confidence that they are reliable.

- Few other builders in the area offered prettier renders and cheaper prices, but they did not have many (or any) completed projects.

- We had a very specific design in mind. Huge Baja for the pool and very unique outdoor kitchen. GS managed the task, and the backyard turned out great.

- The only complaint is that it took 13 months from start to finish. However, it might probably caused by COVID, rainy weather, long permit approval, etc.

The crew and PMs are very friendly.

Definitely would recommend GS for your outdoor project.

This review is for anyone considering Green Scene for their landscaping work and our experience working with them.

We have a new construction home that needed landscaping and hardscaping work. The front and back of the house were a dirt lot, a blank canvas for making something that we and the kids would use for the years to come.

We interviewed 4 different landscaping companies and had a chance to look at the work they had done in the neighborhood. Scott, the owner of Green Scene, came over to the house for a consult. He interviewed with us with a lengthy design questionnaire. We gave him a very high level idea of what we wanted and our budget. Based on our ideas and questions that he asked, he would come up with a design. Unlike most landscapers, the plans/design would not belong to us. We were hesitant paying for plans that we wouldn't get to keep if we decided not to hire Green Scene. After some discussion we did decide to pay the retainer and at least see what kind of design he would come up with.

Scott designed and presented the plans in their Design offices. We were amazed with what he came up with. We had just given some basic ideas of what we wanted but he designed something very detailed and elegant looking. It included concepts that we hadn't seen in other homes and details that would make it unique from neighboring homes. We could tell right away that Scott is an artist. He uses a software that enables one to see the design in 2D and 3D as well which gave us a very good idea of how the place would look like. He gave us a detailed line by line breakdown of the project cost. The estimate they came up with was way more than we had budgeted though. Their prices seemed about 15% more than what other companies would have charged.

After much debating we did decide to hire Green Scene even though their price was higher. Why? First impressions matter and we got the sense that their concept looked great and their attention to details. Their whole operation seemed very organized and professional. Their plans were good "right out of the box" and we only needed to make small changes. We also liked that they did the entire job and that we could chose all the material at their design center without having to go other places.

They begun work right after the HOA approved the plans. Their crew were professional through out the process, there every morning by 7 and cleaning up the area every single day after finishing work. The whole work took about 5 months. It was slower than the neighbors projects but it was for a good reason; they didn't seem to rush things and their attention to detail (to be fair, the rain added to the delay). I noticed them measure, remeasure and adjust things frequently throughout and it shows in the end project. There were also things that they tore apart and re-did that we didn't think had any issues but which the foreman saw flaws in and didn't meet their standards. We never once got the impression that they were cutting corners which can be a concern whenever one works with a contractor. Any change or feedback we had was incorporated without much fuss.

Scott picked all the plants and flowers, he is very knowledgeable on them and knows what will look good and what will work in our SoCal weather. From the 30 or so different plants, we only had to change a couple so his overall selection was great. They also did a lot of prep work on the area that the lawn is on. We are on a fairly rocky area and the lawn on homes that Green Scene has worked on seems to hold up well compared to some neighbors.

The final landscaping looks great and is close to the 3D rendering that was initially presented to us. A lot of the neighbors have complemented us on how good it looks, especially the front landscaping.

In summary, even though Green Scene was pricier than other landscapers, they delivered a beautiful and high quality landscaping. Time will tell how well the construction holds up but based on the work they put in, we hope that it will look good for years to come.

We recently completed our landscape and hardscape project with Green Scene. We had the opportunity to work with a dream team - Scott as our designer, Frank as our site manager, and a team with decades of experience building quality landscapes and pools.

Unlike many contractors who just want to push for the most expensive options, Scott is passionate about landscape design and is an innovator who listens to customers' preferences, inspects customers' house styles, color schemes and lot geometries then comes up with true custom designs maximizing appearance and utility of every corner of the yards while fitting customers' budgets. Scott is not just a designer. He is also so knowledgeable about building processes, code requirements and HoA requirements. He took time to explain these processes and make recommendations with clear rationales. Scott possesses the rare combination of being visionary on overall design and paying attention to every single detail. I was extremely impressed with his knowledge in the area weather, soil types, color matching, flowering seasons etc when making recommendations in plant selection.

Frank, an experienced site manager and hands-on builder himself, led the team to turn the beautiful design into reality. Their professionalism and quality of work are constantly demonstrated everyday on every part of the landscape. Cutting no corners, the team ensures they build every component right the first time. Frank, while being extremely busy on managing multiple sites, is always responsive to messages and questions. He is also willing to go out of his way to coordinate with other subcontractors, fix problems that may not be explicitly covered in contract to ensure smooth project execution and customer satisfaction.

Throughout my interactions with Scott, Frank and the Green Scene team, It was clear that this is a team that takes pride in what they do and stands behind every project they deliver. I am glad that I chose the Green Scene.
