Constraction reviews in Concord, California

I hired AcuStruct to drill 3 holes 21' deep. It was in a tight spot with overhead wires so the job required a portable drilling rig. They were really busy but they were able to send a team out within a few days. Kevin and Emiliano came out, showed up on time, and were quick and efficient with their work. They are clearly experienced with the equipment. The holes were drilled perfectly and the project came in under budget. I highly recommend AcuStrut for your drilling needs.

I hired AcuStruct for a backyard project that involved replacing multiple failing cinder block retaining walls with soldier walls. They were one of several companies recommended by the Geotechnical engineer who did the design work and job plans. They expanded the footprint of the backyard to accommodate a hot tub and constructed a gorgeous redwood beam/steel and a second concrete/steel retaining wall. Soldier walls involve setting steel H beams deep in the ground using portable drills. They also repoured the patio to be more level, widened a stairway for better flow from the kitchen and improved water run off. Dan has a good eye, great ideas, was communicative, and their prices are competitive. Highly recommend this company!

Fair honest and his work is impeccable!
That’s lovely wife works side-by-side and always gives a little ladies touch!
You will not be disappointed they will communicate with you daily!

Complete kitchen remodel has been in for two years and I’ve never had to call him back! Other than to thank him and his hard-working wife!

Cunningham Construction (Paul & Vicki) are true masters of their craft!
After our first renovation project, we were so impressed with this duo’s expertise, professionalism, honesty, and attention to detail, that when we had a second remodeling project in our home, who did we call….Cunningham Construction, of course! Cunningham Construction’s quotes are always detailed and thorough. Their pricing is very reasonable - they are neither the cheapest nor the most expensive in the market. But if you are someone who demands high quality workmanship, you need to contact Cunningham Construction. They are also, very honest and down to earth people who make you feel like you can trust them to treat your renovation like it was their own home project.
First Project: An Amazing Master Bedroom Retreat
Before our very eyes, our dysfunctional master bedroom, tiny bathroom and closet were reconfigured by Paul and Vicki. All the extra efforts like laying out the patterned waterfall tile on the floor before applying them to the floors and shower walls, so the pattern would look incredible, went that extra mile in our eyes. At the end of each day, the area was cleaned up and we were given a thorough update on everything completed that day as well as plans for the next day. Family and friends are awestruck when I give them a tour.
Second Project: Creation of a Third Bathroom
We asked them to repurpose the square footage from our kitchen and hallway to create another valuable bathroom. This project was a new learning experience and collaboration for all of us, to create an up flush system for our third bathroom. Many hours of research were necessary to be sure everything met the SANI-FLO companies requirements and all work was performed to the city codes. Several permit inspections were needed, which passed easily, because of Paul and Vicki’s due diligence. Things that we did not even notice, that were not meeting Paul’s standards, they would bring to our attention and then they would fix it. The Cunningham’s found the best plumber and electrician to make sure everything was top notch. Even the city inspectors commented on how flawless their work was, especially compared to most other jobs that they see.
This bathroom is just so gorgeous and . It also is within our 5th bedroom and creates a junior suite, which adds so much value to our home.
Therefore, we were extremely pleased and have full confidence and complete peace of mind in our final product. If you are looking to hire a contractor who you can trust to perform the BEST work possible for your next home renovation, look no further. You absolutely won’t regret hiring Cunningham Construction

I've known the owners of this company a long time. I knew that I could trust this company to do a fantastic job on fixing-up my house. That gave me a lot comfort throughout the construction process.
I am very happy with with the excellent quality of work, efficient/timely workflow, and attention to detail. I happily would hire them again!

Excellent experience working with Jesse, Josh and there superstar Superintendent Chris!!

Jesse and Josh are great to work with. They built a beautiful addition on my house in Danville. They finished the project on time with no issues. I highly recommend.

You’re not gonna find a better Framer. Believe me, I tried! Christiansen Brothers is by far the most knowledgeable, responsive, and capable Framing company. I had the pleasure of working with in my 10 years, running a general contracting business. They are extremely approachable and have the knowledge to workshop detail details or follow a plan exactly. Can’t recommend high enough.

We had a great experience with CBC and we can highly recommend their work. They completed a full kitchen/dining room addition plus other remodeling work in the living room of our home. Chris was a fantastic project manager/superintendent - he kept us informed and was always looking for ways to make things work smoothly. Julie was a dream to work with as well.

CBC Team is amazing! Josh, Jesse, Julie and all of the team are very professional, great to work with and do top quality work. I highly recommend Christensen Brothers Construction for your home projects, framing and more!

Great people and great customer service. They built a beautiful project and it ran smoothly and on time. A few things had to be revisited ( nothing in construction is perfect) but they showed up immediately and stood behind their work and their subs work. Highly recommend them, the superintendent is wonderful.

We hired Christensen Brothers for a full home remodel, including our kitchen, bathroom, and the addition of an outdoor patio. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional.

They honored their original quote with no hidden fees or unexpected costs—something we greatly appreciated. Their transparency and integrity stood out throughout the project.

The entire team was a pleasure to work with—friendly, knowledgeable, and always attentive to our needs. They listened carefully to our concerns and promptly resolved any issues that arose, ensuring everything was completed to our satisfaction.

The craftsmanship and attention to detail were outstanding. We’ve received numerous compliments on the final result, and we couldn’t be happier with the quality of their work.

Remodeling a home can be a daunting and stressful process, but Christensen Brothers made it significantly easier. Their professionalism, clear communication, and supportive approach made all the difference. If we undertake another remodeling project in the future, they will be our first and only call.

The Christensen Brothers are top notch. They have so much experience and pay attention to every detail. They are not happy unless their customers are happy. I would highly recommend working with them for any project from ADUs to full custom builds.

I had CBC do 2 projects for me. The first was framing a standalone studio/in-law unit. Years later, the second was a large new home build (5,200sq.ft.). For the 1st project, their bid was competitive but I mainly hired them for 2 reasons: they seemed like people who I could work with if situations came up, and they also came across as very experienced and knowledgeable (confident). The project went great (on time, met expectations) and the quality was definitely a cut above others. I had done some remodeling myself, and also worked for contractors when I was younger, so I am able to see when corners are cut. CBC did none of that. It really did feel like they were building it for themselves. That made me decide to hire them for the new home build, obviously a magnitude more complex that the studio/in-law unit. I had the same experience here. They built the home with top-quality, were easy to work with through changes/problems, and finished in the timeframe expected other than a few week delay due to heavy rains. One aspect that I appreciated was the subcontractors which CBC used. I would say that 80% were excellent, and the other 20% were real good. None were average or lower. I specifically thought that the foundation, roofing, and HVAC subcontractors were the top of the top, I could not imagine anyone doing the work any better. On an ending note, I’ll say that within a year before/after our home build project, there were 4 other new-build/remodel projects going on my street for some reason. Two of those went into lawsuit issues between the owners and builder. With CBC, I knew that this was not a possibility, I could sleep at night not worrying about nightmare scenarios. I can't vouch for these guys any more than I have, they are the best.

Jesse and Josh provided an essential service on a project. We were in the beginning process of building an ADU, but I needed help. They stepped in and framed the entire addition. I was originally concerned about the interface, because some of the project had been completed and the plan drawings that I had drawn up were far from perfect. They came in and seamlessly took over and completed the building structure. In every small detail their work was an upgrade to the requirements. The work proceeded quickly and in an organized manner. I consider myself very lucky to have had the brothers and their very qualified crew on the job.

Christensen Brothers Builders are excellent. I’ve worked with them several times both own my own projects and for clients, and they’ve been consistently great. They’re professional, easy to work with, and very experienced.

Their prices are competitive, they show up when they say they will, and the quality of their work is always solid. They’re also friendly and good at explaining what’s going on so clients feel comfortable with the process.

It can be hard to find trustworthy contractors, but these guys are really solid. Highly recommend!

I cannot recommend Christensen Brothers Construction (CBC) highly enough! I was admittedly nervous stepping into my first major home remodel, but from start to finish, my experience with CBC was terrific. We hired them for a sizable residential renovation project, and they delivered in every aspect of the job.
Communication was clear and consistent throughout the entire process. They listened carefully to our needs, offered expert advice, and kept us informed at every step. The crew was professional, punctual, and respectful of our home. The quality of the craftsmanship was outstanding — every detail was handled with care and precision.
They stayed on schedule and within budget, which is rare these days! What really stood out was their integrity and dedication to getting the job done right. It's clear they take great pride in their work.
We’re thrilled with the final result and have already recommended them to several friends and neighbors. If you're looking for a reliable, honest, and highly skilled general contractor, look no further than Jesse & Josh at CBC Builders.

This was our first experience with home remodeling and I was terrified. I thought, "lots of money, constant oversight, disregarded timetables." None of this happened with CBC - Jesse, Josh, Chris, Julie and the many excellent subcontractors they work with transformed my house under budget and in less time than they initially predicted. The work is top notch - lots of attention to detail, the work areas were always left super-clean, information consistently well communicated, work was fast and efficient.

One of the things I appreciated most was that Jesse would recommend things - extra insulation, a board placement, a design element or a structural consideration - that let me know he was treating my house like his own house. In the end, these suggestions turned out to make all the difference. The team worked seamlessly with my designer and indeed were almost like another team of designers to bring beauty and excellence to the house.

The quality of the work is outstanding. We remodeled the kitchen, dining room, family room, hallway and entryway. The only bad thing is that the work ended and I don't get to hang with Jesse and Julie and Chris everyday anymore. If you are looking for a company with integrity and honesty that also knows what they are doing and can produce skilled craftsmanship, you have found the right company.

After many projects under our belt we brought Christensen Brothers in to work on a Lafayette remodel. The attention to detail, professionalism and speed to work was unparalleled. We highly recommend the team for any project big or small.
