I had a very disappointing experience with George and Sons Carpet Cleaning in Marin. I was quoted $138 over the phone, but when the technician arrived, he said it was going to cost me $400 instead.

The technician was unprofessional — he did not wear booties, walked through my house with his shoes on, and his machine dripped water all over my floors. The cleaning itself was poor; the carpets looked no different afterwards, with stains untouched, as if they were just damp vacuumed.

At checkout, he forged my signature without showing me and processed payment through Apple Pay without asking me to sign and write my name down as Banana instead of my actual name. I asked for a receipt, and was told it would be emailed to me. It was emailed to me after the fact, and that’s when I saw that he forged my signature and added an additional $24 service fee to bring the price up to $424 instead of $138. There was never mention of this added service fee at the beginning.

When I called to complain, the manager never apologized, only said they would send another technician to re do the carpets. I was given a time window, but no one ever showed up.

This company was unprofessional, misleading with pricing, and failed to deliver the service promised. I do not recommend them at all .
