Davey's crew came to trim back and shape six of our trees. We were very happy with the results. The guys listened well to our input, were very knowledgeable about what they were doing and did a fabulous job with the clean up. Trimmings from six trees resulted in a big pile up of debris, but when they were finished there wasn't any signs of the work that had been done. Just six beautifully shaped trees were left.

Joe's crew made quick work of removing two immense pepper tree branches that were hanging over my house and addition construction site. They were done and gone by 2:00 PM allowing my excavation contractor to continue uninterrupted with his work that day. Excellent job.

I feel Davey's rate was fair and compared favorably to other tree companies. The big selling point for me was the first meeting with Nick, a certified master arborist. I have a 25 year old Japanese maple that grew from a seed from my mother's backyard. This tree had a lot of dying branches. Another arborist told me the tree had mold, and there wasn't really anything I could do. I was heartbroken. Nick, did I mention he was a master arborist?, told me I needed to water it more often, and it would bounce back. He gave me pointers for all my trees, and recommended fertilizer treatments--this didn't feel like up-selling but like good advice from someone who loves trees. I was able to get an appointment within a week. Raul and Coco came and did a great job cleaning up and shaping my olive, yucca, and Japanese maple trees. They were quick, professional (even with uniforms and helmets!), very skilled, and tidy. Nick stopped by at the end and went over their work (which was great). I would heartily recommend their work!

This was the first time I used Davey Tree Expert Company. They were excellent from the initial phone call to the estimate, to the final appointment. There were 2 people who expertly worked on 2 different trees.
The 2 gentlemen were clearly experts, the trees look amazing. They were pleasant with good communication skills, even good humor. They cleaned up and they were efficient.
I would recommend them to others and will use them again.

So happy with the job Davey did. Thomas Stover did the consultation and Jose, Jose, Linh, and Cuong were the crew. They pruned one very mature Live Oak, one adult Live Oak, and one Buckeye. They removed two smaller trees. They were efficient and careful, and left the yard cleaner than they found it. The trees all look beautiful and healthier. I thought the price was very reasonable. I was glad to have a certified arborist (Thomas) do the consultation and assessment, and one of the crew members was a certified arborist as well.

Salvador and Santos did a superb job cutting the tree on my patio. They were polite, communicative and efficient. Salvador did a great job cutting the tree safely and he and Santos cleaned up beautifully afterwards. I was very, very pleased. I am so glad I contracted with Davey Tree to my job.

I have a very large Valley Oak tree that needs dead wood removal and canopy trimming every 7 years. It’s no small job. The Davey crew Salvador, Raul, Jose M, Coco, and Jose F were professional, knew what they were doing and very hard working! They did a great clean up and the tree looks beautiful and healthy. Couldn’t be happier with their work.

If you need your trees trimmed the Davey Tree Company does a great job. They also have an arborist as part of their team that will make sure that your trees are taken care of the right way. All the workers are very knowledgeable and work as a team. Not only are they all efficient but they clean up the area after they are done. Our yard looks fantastic!

Davey tree service has been taking care of our trees in Livermore for about 20 years.

Our most recent (Jan 2026) experience was very positive. We were given a clear assessment and estimate from the arborists Thomas and Joe. Their communication skills were respectful and they were very polite. As a woman, they treated me with full respect. They listened to our comments and were tactful in negotiating a plan that met our desires in conjunction with good tree pruning practice and health.

On the day of the work, the team of Raul, Salvador, and Santos arrived on time with the proper equipment, including a bucket truck to reach the highest branches of our tall trees. The workers were outstandingly polite and had good communication skills. The quality of the work met our expectations. We had a final walk-through and the workers willingly made some final pruning adjustments. They cleaned up 100% and left the yard immaculately clean.

We look forward to working with this team in the future.

Salvador (Sally) and Santos were excellent, diligent, polite, friendly team of workers. They came out on a Thursday in August @8:30 am to set up and started working by 9:00 am. It was a hot day. The whole job took about 5 hours with time off for a lunch break. As you can see by the pictures, the area was cleaned up very neatly after the work was done. They listened very carefully to our request to leave huge parts of the Jacaranda tree behind so we could donate the wood to artists that work with wood. We are very pleased by the work done by Sally and Santos.

The soil in my yard is clay and despite my best efforts to grow citrus trees they were not thriving. They weren't a healthy green color and they were not growing even though they were several years old.

I found Davey Tree online and saw that they could fertilize trees at the root level. I called for a consultation and a technician came to my house a couple of days later. They quoted what I thought was a reasonable price and scheduled the service for a few days later. I told them how to access my yard so it wasn't necessary for me to be home.

They fertilized my trees at the end of April and I could not be more thrilled at the progress my trees have made since then. They are all green and lush and the lemon tree is loaded with immature fruit. I plan to have this service performed every year.

During the same visit they injected an older pine tree to prevent beetle infestation and because they are tree experts they recommended waiting for cooler weather to cut back growth that overhangs my roof. I've had many people come by my house offering to trim that tree, but I'm glad I consulted Davey because I had no idea that trimming the tree during warmer months could encourage beetle infestation, which could be catastrophic since it could fall onto my house.

Update March 2026:

My citrus trees are thriving since the treatment last year. I plan to have Davey apply another treatment this year and each year going forward. Only an annual treatment is required and since I have such terrible soil I feel as though the treatment saved my trees.

Because I was pleased with the soil treatment, I contacted Davey to trim the huge pine tree with branches that were hanging above my roof. Thomas Stover, who is an arborist, made the initial visit. He sent me a proposal later that day and was able to schedule the work for the following day. The crew, Salvador, Fernando, and Santos arrived on time and were very polite. They helped move a vehicle and some backyard items that were in their way. After a brief consultation about what was to be trimmed they got right to work. If not for the noise of the chipper I wouldn't have known they were on-site.

When they thought they were finished they asked me to look at the work to ensure that I was satisfied. I was, so they set about gathering their equipment and cleaning up residual branches. They even used a blower to ensure that no residual mess was left behind.

Consider this another five-star review of Davey Tree Company and the crew that trimmed my tree.
