We did a full kitchen, guest bathroom, and custom cabinet remodel with Onyx General Construction, and the experience was excellent. Sean provided a reasonable quote, not the cheapest, but he brought in high quality tradespeople who showed up on time every day and even finished the project ahead of schedule. He kept us informed about any unforeseen costs or change orders and helped us make smart decisions along the way.

The drywaller he used was fantastic, seamlessly matching everything, and the custom cabinet suppliers were incredibly friendly, going above and beyond to ensure we were happy. Finding a reliable contractor can be tough, but Sean exceeded our expectations and made sure we were well taken care of. Highly recommend!

Our roof had been on our radar for a while and after getting a couple of quotes we decided to go with Onyx and I'm really glad we did. Sean came out for the estimate and was upfront about everything from the start. He explained what was going on with the existing roof, why a full replacement made more sense than continuing to patch it, and what the installation process would look like from start to finish. That kind of straight answer is honestly hard to find. His crew came out and had the whole job done in two days. They protected everything around the house before starting demo and by the time they left you wouldn't have known they were even there except for the fact that the roof looked brand new. Sean also followed up after to make sure we were happy with everything. Really smooth process and a great result. Already recommended him to a couple of people on our street.

FINALLY, when I'm asked if I know someone that I trust that can build this or fix that, I can finally say "YES, I gotta guy"! Sean is that guy that does it all! I highly recommend Sean and his work. I have been known to not be the easiest person to work with when it comes to any kind of work being done to my house. I tend to change my mind midway through a project and have the impulsive need to share that with everybody... Sean had so much patience and understanding with me and never rolled his eyes at me once! He had the ability to explain the process and put my mind at ease several times.
I had a few projects for him, and he did an amazing job! He replaced and built a new secure double front entry gate, added and painted about 100 feet of privacy lattice to the top of my current fence, which I absolutely love! He painted everything...the trim of my house, the new gate, the fence and lattice. Everything looks beautiful and he did a fantastic job! Also, let's throw in the electricity, I had exposed wires that were going from the garage to the house that needed to go underground. Of course, he took care of that and even added a few outlets. With all the work that Sean has done, not only does everything look wonderful, but I feel safer now with the added security that was provided by him. Side note... my dog absolutely loves him and gave him kisses every time he walked through the gate! I look forward to working with Sean on future projects.

Sean removed our kitchen’s ceramic tile countertops and oversaw the installation of our custom granite. He then hooked up our sink and all the faucets and garbage disposal, replaced our Thermador range-top with an updated configuration, and replaced our built-in dishwasher. As an extra bonus he fixed an outdoor lighting system, had screens repaired and fixed our leaky toilet. He is a man of many talents.
He is highly skilled and knowledgeable. His work is flawless. (One fine bit of finish work was his meticulous painting of the wall adjacent to the top of the granite backsplash. It is perfect!)

I hired Sean based on a couple of other glowing recommendations on Nextdoor. I needed someone who could take out an old bathroom vanity, paint and patch the bathroom, put in a new vanity and faucet, as well as build and hang a medicine cabinet and hang some hooks, that always seemed to fall out when I hung them. Sean came promptly and gave me a very fair bid. As he was putting in the sink, he realized that Wayfair sent me a sink that did not fit the vanity and was incredibly helpful by shopping locally for a sink that would actually fit. It turned out not to be so easy. He went above and beyond on my job, and was incredibly patient with the whole process of me trying to deal with Wayfair and get a replacement sink from them, that kept being delayed. I eventually ordered a sink that he had found form Kohler, and it fit perfectly! He finished the job, and I could not be happier!! I already have plans to use him for more jobs. It feels really good to find someone like Sean, a true professional and a really good person!

I hired Sean from Onyx General Construction Company for a home addition and a complete remodel of my house. The project involved an extensive renovation of a 3,500-square-foot space, including four bedrooms, three full bathrooms, a powder room, two living rooms, and a 400-square-foot kitchen. Onyx reworked the entire interior floor plan, adding a hallway and fully remodeling the layout. They gutted all the flooring and much of the walls. Additionally, all the plumbing, electrical systems, windows, and doors were replaced with modern upgrades. Onyx also built a custom kitchen with hand crafted cabinets and added skylights to bring in natural light. They performed extensive framing and foundation work, in order to alter much of the interior and exterior structure. To complete the transformation, they removed the old siding and replaced it with new stucco, giving the home a fresh, modern exterior.

Sean and his crew at Onyx did a great job on our bathroom remodel. New tile floor, marble tile bath and shower, new tub and shower door installation, vanity with double sinks. Brand new electric and plumbing. Drywall, painting, installation of new fixtures. They did it all. Great communication with Sean from start to finish. Highly recommend.

I highly recommend Onyx Construction owned by Sean and his work. I worked with him on two projects. The first was for my bathroom. He repaired the incomplete job done by a former handy man and installed a new surround around my bathtub, installed new plumbing fixtures and patched and painted. He did a fantastic job, kept everything clean and was very professional throughout. Just as important though, he communicated throughout the project (even when I was out of town while he worked, he sent me daily photos and updates.) He answered all my questions, was on time, and showed up when he said he would.

The second project was much bigger and more complicated. I added a garage onto my existing ADU. This larger project included many unexpected hurdles which Sean handled well. He helped me make choices that were cost effective and kept the project moving along. Again he kept me up to date with good communication, answering my questions and understanding my priorities. The best thing about Sean is that he is honest, he keeps his word and he will be sure the project is done right.
