Great job! Looks beautiful and most of all solved a drainage issue that nobody else had been able so solve in years, and made the solution simple. They replaced a poorly done French Drain and managed to connect it to existing cocrete drainage infrastructure that no one else was able to do in thirty years. Also, they don't oversell you on solutions.

Owen did great work at our place.We were starting fresh in three different areas.He made a detailed plan for each area and gave it to us to look at.We accepted the proposal with a few small changes and started the project.His team managed to create stunning rock work and plantings quicker than we expected, especially considering the extremely hot and dry weather.I'm excited to see how everything will look next Spring once it has had time to grow for a few months.Of course, we'll keep using this company for many more years.

This has been a great company to do business with. They were on time every day, cleaned up after themselves every day, and could not have been more professional. They pulled city permits, installed a french drain and a sump pump, and did a complete area waterproof. Their staff were exceptional. Highly recommend them.

TLDR:
This is going to be a long (positive review) because the job was big and it deserves a long review to give it justice but I'll cut to the chase first. Waterproofing a basement is never a fun thing to have to do and especially in the Los Angeles area where basements are rare. I never could have asked for a better team to work with. From start to finish they were professional, communicative, punctual, clean, hard working, honest, you name it. It was basically everything you could ask for in somebody who is working for you.

The whole team (in order of how I met them): Tag, Renato, Keith and the Construction Team: supervisor - Douglas, head onsite - Marcos and his team: Sergio, Walter and Edwin (and a bunch of other guys that were sprinkled in over the 9+ weeks period) were exceptional. I highly recommend this company.

The Story:
Now onto the details if you want to keep reading (some people like the details and some do not). This all started with a frustration of water seeping into my basement not just in 2023 but also the Feb storms of 2024. I had originally talked to Tag and Renato in 2023 for a quote and they made me feel comfortable from the start. They provided me a quote which was a bit steep because the job was so big and I decided to hold off and think "what is the worst that could happen in 2024." Well I was wrong. After water seeped into my basement for a week after the huge Feb storm I immediately reached back out to them to ask for help since not only did it just seem easy to work with them but they provided the most competitive price for the work I needed so it was a win-win. They got me on the books and Marcos and his team showed up in mid March. They literally became my family for another two months until mid May. They were always on time and always cleaned up before they left for the day. They were communicative, as quiet as they could be and very courteous on top of the stellar work that they did. I admit that after the job was finished I woke up the next week expecting to be greeted by the guys outside and think I had a bit of withdrawal that they weren't here anymore. It sounds cheesy but that is a good feeling to think "ahh i kind of miss their presence" instead of "thank goodness they are gone." I now have a waterproof basement and a new beautiful driveway with drainage all over so that the rain storms can't affect my house ever again!

My only caveat and it would NOT take away from the service is that if you don't know any Spanish, be prepared to struggle a bit to communicate with the guys. (This is probably very common in the industry). Douglas came around every few days and Marcos spoke decent English but with them not around at times it was hard to communicate. This does NOT take anything away from the job they did I just wanted to mention it though as I wish I brushed up on my Spanish before they came. =)

Anyway, congrats to a job well done to the entire team. I definitely would refer them to anybody who was in my situation but hope nobody ever has a basement flooding problem in the LA area.

I had major issues with my foundation and had called several places and was so frustrated trying to find someone to just do the foundation work. All that was resolved when i called LA Seismic and had Renato show up to go under my building and assess the situation. I immediately liked him and how he explained what the issues were. I immediately liked how he thoroughly explained and was easy to talk to. I made the decision right then to have them do the work. Tag and Kevin from the office were very professional and sent all the necessary invoices and pertinent info. The guys that did the work under the direction of Renato and Douglas were professional, kind and friendly and cleaned up after themselves daily. I highly recommend and feel i hired the right company to do the work that was not done properly in the first place. Thank you all!!!

Working with this team was the most reassurance I’ve ever experienced in home renovation. I was able to easily contact the team, receive site updates, pay bills & receive quotes, all within a respectable timeline. There is nothing more comforting than having a team that has your best interest at heart, especially with 1000 moving parts for home repairs. Subject: Waterproofing the cement foundation (flooding room)

My husband had found LA Seismic Construction Co. via Google Search. After going through all the positive reviews from their previous clients he figured LA Seismic was the one which would solve our room flooding during the heavy rain last year. He made a call to the company and had some discussion with Tag who was very courteous and knowledgeable.

After meeting Renato to hear his assessment of the flooding situation he recommended waterproofing the two walls and foundation as shown in the photos on their website, installing a French drain, a sump with a submersible pump. LA Seismic was usually very busy with big projects but Tag and Renato were very gracious to squeeze our need of repairs in between their heavy schedule. Sure enough the project was completed very smoothly within the proposed time with their four members team lead by Douglas, the field supervisor. Douglas was very knowledgeable, polite and courteous. My husband truly appreciated working with him and he saw how Douglas managed his crew who showed up early everyday from start to finish. After the waterproofing task was finished Douglas performed the testing of the sump pump successfully. Also the team reinstalled the pavers which turned out better than the original. The construction site was cleaned up and hauled away very promptly.

We felt very pleased with the whole experience working with LA Seismic Construction.
The cost was fairly priced for such the detailed job, considering what we had gone through a few DIY's and had wasted time and money without success. We highly recommend LA Seismic Construction to solve anyone's headache with the flooding issues.

I had my house bolted and braced to the foundation. The man that came to give the estimate obviously was very knowledgeable about what needed to be done and the current city codes. The work easily passed inspection. The crew was very nice and accommodating. The company went out of its way to work with me on a side issue. I would highly recommend them and would not hesitate to hire them again.

L.A. Seismic Construction Co. has been easy to work with every step of the process.  Everyone (Engineering (Renato), Billing, Tag as the primary contact for scheduling, and individuals in the field) was knowledgeable about the process.  They have been responsive and friendly.  The explain every step.  They take pictures, provide opportunities to see what is happening before, during, and after.  They were respectful of property.  They also identified additional work needed, such as termite damaged joists and were able to repair those items under a separate order.  I got multiple bids.  Some provide a quote over the phone.  Others arrived less than fully prepared.  They charge an amount equal or almost equal to the grant and I guess they go for volume.  I chose L.A. Seismic because they arrived prepared, conducted a full inspection of the crawl space, and provided the most detailed quotation which gave me the confidence from the outset that they lived up to the star-rating.  It cost more than the grant amount, but I have confidence in the work completed.  Highly recommend.

Very reliable, hard-working crew. Pablo and his team showed up on time every day and went straight to work reinforcing our 1950s raised foundation in Torrance. He speaks good English. They explained what they were doing and provided lots of pictures of their work under the house. They cleaned up their work very well, and I also like that they each wore the company shirt.
